We usually meet up at the Chippenham Premier Travel Inn which is nearby. Many of us stay there too. And you will be seeing plenty of 300s on the stand this year. -
Its OK Neil, I am up in Scotland to keep the balance right.

Minor revision to Round 1 - the track will be available for RWYB practice on Saturday 21st April also for anyone wanting to make a weekend of it. The Saturday will also feature the All Clubs Vauxhall Day - GM branded cars and specialist traders. There will be practice sessions for Pro Street Drag Series, Sportsman Car and bike testing in preparation for the Springspeed Nationals in May. Sunday will see the advertised RWYB Public Track Day with the Z Car Club Drag Challenge, PSDS Round 1, pre Springspeed Nationals testing as well as the opening round of the SCR Bracket Gamblers series. Further details can be found on the Shakespeare County Raceway web site or by calling the track office on 01789 720180.

RWYB / Reaction Time Meeting: Competitors will sign on and run as part of the normal RWYB meeting. There will be no special Z sessions. Points will be awarded for: 1. Position in class 2. Reaction times 3. Attendance (cumulative as previous years) Heads-Up Meeting: Competitors will get scrutineered and sign on. There will be at least two Z specific qualifying sessions arranged on the day where members can by-pass the queue and run together as a group. Times from these sessions will be used to form an elimination ladder (usually the top eight cars, or if a larger attendance, sixteen cars). Pairs will be allocated and in the PM sessions there will be a series of elimination rounds - 8 car field is three rounds; 16 car field four rounds - to find the fastest Z of the day! Competitors are free to participate in the RWYB during the rest of the day as long as they don't compromise participation in qualifying and eliminations. Points will be awarded for: 1. Position in class (based on non-Elimination results) 2. Position in Eliminator 3. Attendance (cumulative) Bracket Meeting: Competitors will get scrutineered and sign on. Ensure that the scrutineer gives you a "Z" prefix number. Competitors should attempt at least one "dial-in" run to assess track and car performance on the day. Each competitor will decide on their target Elapsed Time and this will be written on the rear window in white marker by the organiser on the day. There will be at least two Z specific qualifying sessions arranged on the day where members can by-pass the queue and run together as a group. Times from these sessions will be used to form an elimination ladder (usually the top eight cars, or if a larger attendance, sixteen cars). The ladder positions will be determined by how close each competitor runs to their "dial-in" time without going quicker (or "breaking out"). Pairs will be allocated and in the PM sessions there will be a series of elimination rounds - 8 car field is three rounds; 16 car field four rounds - to find the fastest Z of the day! Competitors will be advantaged or handicapped at the lights according to their dial-in times, e.g. Car A dials 14 seconds, Car B dials 15 seconds. At the start, Car B will leave the line one second ahead of Car A. In theory, both cars cross the finish line at the same time - in practice, reaction time and consistency will determine a winner. In this format, everyone is equal! Competitors are free to participate in the RWYB during the rest of the day as long as they don't compromise participation in qualifying and eliminations. Points will be awarded for: 1. Position in class (based on non-Elimination results) 2. Position in Bracket Eliminator 3. Attendance (cumulative) Any questions, give me a call on 01277 374201... __________________

This is a great series of events and even if yiou dont want to compete come along and support it. Post copied from Mike Feeney. Following on from the success of our "Head-Up" and "Bracket" rounds in 2011, I've made some major changes to the format of this year's Drag Challenge and also addressed the criticism of Santa Pod's indifference to RWYB participants. This year we will have four rounds at Shakespeare County Raceway where we can run Z Club dedicated Bracket Eliminations, three rounds at North Weald where we can run dedicated Z Club "Heads-Up" eliminations and just three rounds at Santa Pod where the previous years' format will apply. See the updated Drag Challenge rules for more detail. Dates as follows: 22nd April: Round 1 Shakespeare County - with Bracket Eliminator 6th May: Round 2 Santa Pod Raceway - RWYB with reaction time element 13th May: Round 3 North Weald - with Heads-Up Eliminator 17th June: Round 4 North Weald - with Heads-Up Eliminator 8th July: Round 5 Santa Pod Raceway - RWYB / RT 21st/22nd July: Round 6 - Shakespeare County Raceway - Bracket round on 22nd 19th August: Round 7 - North Weald - Heads-Up 29th/30th September: Round 8 - Shakespeare County Raceway - Bracket on 30th 13th/14th October: Round 9 - Shakespeare County Raceway - Bracket on 14th 21st October: Round 10 - Santa Pod Raceway - RWYB / RT 28th October: Rain-off Contingency Round - Santa Pod Raceway (only used if any round completely rained off during the year.)

Just for the record. If anyone buys their own ticket they wont get a stand pass. We get a pass for everyone who we buy at ticket for as a forum. -
Thanks Martin, your company was much appreciated after a very long night. The shower will be as good as for anyone staying in the hotel. I will book a room there just for those camping to freshen up.
-
I am now sure I have come up with a complete and working solution to the shower problem for this year.

Just out of interest I stickied it because it makes a lot of sense and with the amount of tyre question posts it makes a good point of reference. At the end of the day people can use any tyre they want.
