  1. Will be out and about in the area at that time but will keep the roof closed so it shouldnt rain. Good cause mate,
  2. Roadside fines mate and better to hae the cash!!!
  3. Hi guys. Know this is a bit of a long shot but here goes. Stevie040 is coming up to detail my Z this Saturday. He is scheduled to do this at a mates house in Chelmsford and you could reasonably expect the weather to be sutable in July ( even at a weekend). Forecast remains unsettled. Option 1 take hit and miss on mates drive. Option 2 .... please insert...... If anyone has access to a garage big enough for him to get aroud it and do the biz ( with power and water) I would be extremely grateful. Would have to drop off Friday evening and collect Sat/Sun. I work at Coryton Refinery near Stanford le Hope. Always worth a try all help much appreciated!!!! Heres hoping
  4. Phone him up as someone else and ask if he still has the piano. Arrange viewing. Point out its legally yours. Stick it under your arm and run. Or something like that. Would have thought that as it isnt his stock you could get it back although things are rarely that simple. Best of luck.
  5. They can do all this but still cant make the indicators or mirrors work!!!!
  6. So you have ot the bug, whats next on the list. Good thing about this site is what ever you do someone will have done it before and can help you along. Welcome.
  7. Should be the ideal place to have one with the roads/ weather. Dont know how one would look with Roo bars though, couldnt get much beer in the back. Have a great time, Martin
  8. And on a more serious note, ( after the prime minister thread) donating is the easy bit, best of luck to all concerned on a very worthwhile effort. Martin
  9. One of my (many) hates at the moment is people driving clapped out cars without insurance. Two mates have been hit by them recently, one had his car written off. Any ideas?
  10. Like the tug boat idea Beavis, keep me in cash for a while. Sometimes wonder, if we owned 2/3 of the world at one time, why didnt we move?
  11. Dont worry, we will be on hosepipe bans by then!
  12. Dont envy you the next few weeks, worth waiting for though. Enjoy the forum.

  14. Recently the government told our local council that in order to pay for road maintenance in the area they could install a toll on any road under their control. This was to make visitors pay for the damage to the roads due to the high volume of tourist traffic. This would have hammered an already damaged tourist industry. A journalist friend of mine noticed that a very short stretch of the M6 ran through the dsignated area. He suggested this would be a good point to start. Government changed their minds. Oh, and signed.
  15. Why not just get rid of all these bloody tolls and have one tax on cars. They could call it road tax...... Oh .... For cars that use more fuel, the owners would pay more tax... Err!... All right, higher tax for bigger cars. AHHHHH. Just take my wages and have done with it
  16. Same old. When I was a kid ( sorry) we had the old local copper who gave you a slap, tell parents and get another slap.. result... respect. The other porblem is that our system is geared up to punish those that have. Beware the man who has nothing, he has nothing to lose. Take away prison terms and what is there left? And relax!!!!.....
  17. Did get a tip recently for emergencies, half open the roof and the storage space can be used for extra bits. Handy on a holiday as long as the sun doesnt come out and you forget before opening the roof. Seen tomorrows forecast, find a hill!!!!
  18. Roadster is the best car for shopping!!! Saves me a fortune. If it wont fit she cant buy it. You can get a lot of bloody shoes in though.
  19. Its a great site and very helpful. Enjoy!
  20. If the flood was an act of God then you deserve a little help with your car being o.k. Can buy cushinoed pads to fit over seatbelts. Martin
  21. Had to add to this thread. Bought some Wheels off Kev recently as he mentioned and his Z is immaculate. Was very tempted but have run out of additions to the house to buy brownie points. I know Kevs reasons for wanting to sell are genuine so any one who is tempted, dont feel the car isnt accurately described. Will pick up the old wheels Kev when I dont need my boat to get there , hope the fish are well. Martin
  22. Just been out to Spain for a quiet break ( Fuengirloa). First night there was a blues festival which was great. Didnt know it was on but the second weekend was the Harley Davidson Eoropean meet. There was a procession of 10000 bikes on the main road with an estimated 25000 bikes on show. OK so they only have 2 wheels and I need 4 but it showed my doubting wife what a great time could be had when like minded people can meet and celebrate a common enthusiasm. She is now up for getting out and about to the meets. I know the Hatley has a lot of history but what a weekend, superb bands and a great time. We may not have the numbers but if we can get anywhere near this it would be great! Martin
  23. Will be out and about that weekend on a trip to Gloucester so a few more miles wont hurt. Will pop in and say hello. Martin
  24. And next time we will bring a camera!
  25. Good to meet you. Shame about the weather but look forward to meeting again when a bit nicer. Off to Spain now to warm up. Martin
