  7. Bit of a lottery then, I have five and no picture. I would hope that as we are not talking about a lot of money this will not make much difference.

  11. Could definately do this monthly, seem to remeber having seen this somewhere before, oh thts right, pistonheads. Bit of work for the mods though so will await feedback.
  12. A few thoughts on the Calendars. Beavis will close the entry tomorrow at midnight. I will leave it him to decide how long you have to vote. I am home with my lovely broadband until the 27th December and would like to get the order in before I come back to work as I have limited internet speed here and a lot of security blocking here. As such, I would be grateful if you would all vote quickly so I can start to move this along. I would suggest that the winning pictures would be better e-mailed directly to me at; martinmac123@btinternet.com This would retain quality. It may be easier to let me pick which month for each to save endless debate. Order can then be placed and paid for either by cheque or paypal. I will let you have the details nearer the time. The final price will depend on how many I order. It will be not be practical to get a re-order this year. There will be a few spare but dont wait too long. The price will include the cost of the calendar plus postage. Any money over for whatever reason will be passed on to Chesterfield. Overseas deliveries may take a little longer but I will attempt to expedite these. Orders will be taken by pm. Please include your name and full adress. I will post on receipt of funds and pm you on posting. I will be home early in the new year so I have a target date of delivery by 12th Jan as long as the printer delivers on time. Any further provisional orders and queries on here please to keep the other thread clean. Thanks, Martin Have a think about how you want to do thi next year. I am thinking a dedicated ( please) thread to run during the year.
  13. And at lunchtime the pub is full of people who would disagree with you Dan
  14. As previously posted, the government can knock 9p per litre off the price which would be covered by the increased revenue from North Sea Oil due to the increased value of a barrel, they just need a little nudge now and again.
  15. Until I got the zed tyres were tyres so I didnt really pay attention. Changed my mind now and as they are the only point of contact with the road I take no chances.
  16. Its called the Labour approach to budgeting. Whatever the figures the outcome is favourable.
  17. Look forward to next year then.
  18. Fortunately my server at work blocks pictures But if its anything to do with Pirates, Pugwash or Fish Fingers youre on the right track
  19. This morning was quite easy as it was flat calm. Also done salvages off the Falklands in 40 ft seas and -20 degrees so its swings and roundabouts. Completed 15 now but only been paid for 8 so it doesnt always work out. At least that the paperwork out of the way, just wondering wether to tel Liz now so she can have her cut.
  20. No, it does make it easier. There s the classic case of a father and son on a fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico who came a cross a tanker which had been on fire. The crew had abandoned ship and it was deserted but the fire had gone out. The fishing boat was small and yu can only claim salvage if you succeed in doing something. The family team put a line on the tanker and they contracted tugs to assist. As such they were in charge of the salvage and made millions. On the other end of the scale I was called out couple of months ago to ship dragging its anchor. By the time I got there it had sorted itself out. They had however called for assistance so we got a few hundred pounds each. You can also claim salvage for firefighting although it was not possible for Southend pier the last time it burnt down, put that one down to PR. Very complicated subject but the most heartwarming thing is helping people in need, namely Gordon Brown who gets 40% Oh, and after last summer I reckon I could get a fairly good size ship onto Windermere, stright down the main road
