Our slightly bigger engines at work are pretty straightforward. They are basically branded as Rolls Royce and the standard filters are a little pricey so we use a type approved alternative which is acceptable. As such we still have our warranty cover. Not sure that Nissan could write a specific brand into a warranty come to think of it. Your oil only has to be up to spec after all

Like everything else along these lines, if any fault can be directly attributed to the filter then yes, if not, then no, no way Thanks. Now I know how and engine works, and I know what an oil filter does - but I am by no means an internal combustion expert. What could happen with an oil filter that would cause a big enough problem? Its a bit like running the popcharger etc on mine, my dealer is cool about it regarding the warranty when servicing but I am under no illusions that this may change if I had major warranty issues.

A cautionary tale. As I try to be nice to ladies, opening doors etc. I posted the calendar to Nixy first. I took it to the local village post office and had it priced. Then paid and it was off. I then intended to return home and address/post the rest. Fortunatley, by the time I had completed this the village post office was closed so it meant a trip to the Big Town. I handed over two boxes of them and smiled, I knew how much they were. Unfortunately the people in the post office in the Big town know the rules. So, fortunate that the majority were priced correctly but many sorries to Nixy. I have now attended to this By the way, the correct price was what I had budgeted for. The majority of outstanding ones should land today or tomorrow in the UK allowing for normal unforseen delays. Interesting to see the difference in times. And Beavis had 3 posted at the same time and were delivered over 2 days. Overseas should be there early next week allowing for acts of god and language barriers ( USA only). Have really enjoyed doing this so thanks for the thanks, and you are most welcome. Should anyone still not have received theirs by next monday send me a pm and I will sort it out. Zummers will be posted tomorrow. As will Teres. For the comp winners I will be placing the order on Monday so will be in touch as soon as I get them back.

Hi Dan and welcome. Never heard of this problem I use mine a lot for various reasons and after 2 years its spot on. Its programmed to drop a little for opening the door, does it do this properly

30 grand computer and I would still be ranting. The no coutesy car is ridiculous, they could have offered you something. Definately worth a paper trail, formal cmplaint and then copied to Nissan. If enough do it it may help others in the future. Pushing for a free service from them may mean another ten days carless. Glad its worked out and enjoy the car.
