Yes I was told that by Phil, he always strongly recommended that the car be present for matching as using the paint codes was pretty hit and miss if he just had them painted and posted.

Im not that good on the electrics but have just searched and there are a few upgrades, all say to diconnect the negative termina during any work to prevent possible shorts. Sorry I cant be mre helpful bud.

I think that if you work on the electrical system with the battery connected there is the possibility of causing a short. Some with more knowledge will help out.

I take it you disconnected the battery during the install.
