Had a nice drive out up the coast today. I took the Civic as some of the roads are nor kind on the Zed.
Fist stop was Beckermet to pick up the Y pipe that Andrew very kindly brought home from Wales for me. Thanks for that mate you are a star. Sorry I missed the snacks.
Just driving up the A595 and I saw the Shiney red beast near Whitehaven.
I then saw a GM coupe,, again on the A595 near Workington.
The next spot was a midnight Blue roadster in a layby overlooking the lake between Bowness and Ambleside.
I also saw one of the most stupid things I have ever seen. A true example of how blind faith in the sat nav is never good.
As mentioned I had taken the Civic because the zed didnt like the roads. Going up the road past Ulpha is narrow, windy and has steep hump back bridges. From there you turn up towards Birker Fell. The first half mile of this road is a series of very tight steep hairpins with stone walls. Just about enough room for two cars to pass with care. The road then improves but its still very narrow.
Imagine my shock when I encountered a very large tour coach coming in the other direction
I managed to pull off the road so he could pass. I then watched him crawl over a narrow hump backed bridge and ground out on the top.
He then drove past me towards the windy bit. I am pretty sure he wouldnt get through that bit and even if he did he would have no room to turn at the T junction.

Even if he could turn left or right he wouldnt get over Ulpha bridge and the other direction is Hardnott Wrnose pass
I assume he is still stuck. There were about a dozen cars behind him and the whole lot would have had to reverse through the steep windy bit which is hard enough when driving forwards.
