The only similar experience I had was with a carbon bonnet which was damaged by the courier. The seller found out that the insurance was about £100 short of what I paid but gave me a full refund anyway. In my opinion its down to the seller to ensure the goods are delivered in good condition and as described. Until this happens the sale has not been completed.

Having just won a battle with VW about servicing I can say that you can have servicing done by anyone and as long as the parts are approved they dont need to be manufacturers parts. Quoting he 2003 block exemption rules usually shuts them up.

I gave up asking the dealer to do my handbrake. They kept "forgetting" which suggests they dont want to do it so it must be a pain.
