I have never worn any tyres out in 50k as I change my wheels all the time. Service costs are not bad at all. You can get 30 mpg plus if you take it easy or mid teens if you give it some stick.

Hi and welcome to the forum. There are only a few common faults such as the clicking rear axle which can be fixed pretty cheaply. Performance wise you can get a remap but if you really want to go down the FI route it can be pretty expensive.
