  1. I asked this on my Facebook and got mixed reviews, problem is Ive already purchased mine and have not worn them yet in fear that the fashion police arrest me. So I want to know, would you wear UGG boots? Are UGG boots gay? DO I stand the risk of getting beaten up over them :surrender:

I bought the Ugg Butte in black

  2. Camera work is good, editing snappy ..I like it ! The colour balance needs a bit of work though. Still looks Home Movie pallette of colour. Plenty of filters in your software to play with this. keep pushing !!!!!! never look back :-)

cheers bud, I know what you mean about the colour, think i might be trying to hard to colour it over saturate it that I should stick to standard colours and just push the contrast slightly

  3. where are you ? I have some experiences in this world. Could help. Plus could do the stills, buckets of experience in that world :-)

Good luck with it and lets see the results !

S.E London, filming in Mayfair

Thanks Nixy, god that was an awful experience that I still have signed to do. x

  4. Good luck with the shoot. Upside for the artist is - if the video works out then they are on to a winner. If not then they can blame you & not the music :p

 thanks for making the experience all the more worrying lol

  5. been trying to get to grips with filming and shooting with a camera and doing lighting and learning from web tutorial videos, or at least trying too. Am a complete noob.

So this sunday am shooting a music video for an up and coming artist, in the video there is supposedly going to be a bugatti, phantom and a zonda. I explained to these guys that Im new to this and that i have only properly done one music video before, and I'm a one man team, so I try to direct, light, shoot, edit and colour correct on my lonesome... They seem fine with this.

Really hope I don't mess it up and do something stupid like leave the lens cap on :headhurt::bang:

  6. People pleople why are you focusing (no pun intended) on the video capabilities of the camera - an SLR camera has to be good at taking static pictures first above anything else the HD video is just a gimmic, you will always get better results with a camcorder for video , although its nice to have both in the same unit I agree.

Sorry mate but have to disagree I use to own a canon xh-a1 and had a sony ex3. The canon 7d and 550d for price and quality you can't beat, better than anything I ever did with the xh-a1 and comparable to ex3, even the cameras at 10-15k are comparable with the canon 550 and 7d. The added bonus that you dont need dof adapter too this camera for video is incredible. Hence why Gorillaz music video and the likes of Quentin Tarantino is using 7d, 5d mark II and 550d for video. They take good stills and unbelievable video they even compared them to the 200k cameras and the difference wasnt huge. Check:

  7. As Christmas is coming up, I am looking at what to get my nephew who is now 3. And being the loving uncle that I am I always try to find something that creates as much noise as possible so that it drives my sister and brother in law insane. For his birthday I bought him a drum kit. I want to get him something that will continue in the tradition of driving my sister up the wall when he plays with it.

    Any ideas?

  8. Hi Guys, as some of you know I've been messing around with a camera for a year now, and 3 months ago took more lessons to improve my skills as Im still a beginner. Im shooting another short film called "The Gift," if anyone is interested in helping out whether its acting or behind the scenes let me know, I am based in S.E London, either message me on here or can go to my facebook page jay laville and add me to get more info.

Dont worry if you have never acted before or if you feel you are too old, this script caters for everyone, its just a bit of fun and something different to try. Another member joined me on the last one, and it went really well and we had a great time filming and directing. This short film will be sent to BBC short films and will try entering it in Cannes Festival and Sundance, and who knows maybe might make it on t.v one day, the skys the limit, we can but try ;)

  9. Hi guys just want to thank you all for the support I received from you all and hope you don't mind me posting this video tribute I did for her, just really proud of her and wanted to share this with you guys if thats okay. Kind of helps me from not holding it all in and going insane

I managed to find some really old video footage of my mum, some dated back to 1968 and most of it taken I had never seen before so it was like pure gold for me. Unfortunately the visual and sound quality is pretty poor so I did by best to clean it up but not really well. So excuse the sound if all over the place.

Anyhow thank you all once again for all the support, hope I can continue her legacy she left behind.

  10. Been a hectic and sad month for me as I lost my mother the beginning of last week. Really hit me and the family quite hard and have felt that a part of me has died. I prayed every day that this was a nightmare I would wake up from but unfortunately I have come to terms with the reality. Want to thank Nixy and jay350z for their compassion and love during this devastating time. Whilst I feel lost without her I know her spirit is with me and my family and that I will see her again. Just wanted the chance to celebrate her life as an amazing woman and have written about her here for all to read:

I will make sure her legacy will live on and hope that her life may be an inspiration to you all that anything is possible. She was the toughest 4ft 11 woman I ever knew. and I miss her so much.
