  1. What are you driving about in at the moment until the Porka arrives?

Thankfully mum is going to lend me her car till then, which is great. She is updating next year as well. I was thinking of getting an A3 but be pointless as the Porka will be a good daily driver and after xmas its only a 2 month wait.

350zPaul: I did take a loss unfortunately, only had the car for a really short while and lost around 16k. But thats not as bad as I thought I was due to lose alot more with these cars

One other thing about this car which I noticed, when you move the electric wing mirrors, they sound like they are struggling to move, they are not smooth movement, they just judder into position if that makes sense, almost like power to the the mirrors are inconsistent. Without a doubt a stunner of a car but thats just the panels. Under it all its about as reliable as a TVR ! Am gutted to let it go but I couldnt take much more

  2. PDK is the paddle one, with sports chromo package, common but reliable and can use as a daily driver, ticked all the boxes for me

Not sure anyone will have a pdk yet and thought they are not released till Jan, maybe im wrong, just managed to get in time for next batch

Incorrect. PDK is the buttons on the steering wheel which is hated by all motoring journos and even the Porsche chief test driver himself. On the new MK2 997 Turbo, which i presume is the model you're buying, then Porshce have finally seen the error of their ways and for £280 are offering customers who opt for the expensive PDK option to have paddles installed behind the sterring wheel instead of the buttons.

I saw a black MK 997 Turbo the other day and it was gorgeous, fair play, nice motor !

Well the one Ive got on order has paddles on it, didnt know it was an extra but hey ho :)

  3. Didnt JCVD get knocked out by Sean Connery at an awards ceremony years ago?

Still think Mr Miagi would kick all there asses, wax on wax off

    PMSL :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I see what you are saying, most of the stuff they say about JCVD is utter bs. I know his manager pretty well, and you wont believe some of the tosh he has made up.

    Bundis fair point

Neo-ninja we shall duel again my friend :boxing::lol:;)

  4. Jay, you should have gone Lambo mate, German build quality, Italian flair ;)

Was thinking it, but I want to be able to drive everyday without hassle and without drawing to much attention from the wrong kind.

    plus you had one

  5. Jay - do you want to buy a Jag?

In the words of Tony the Tiger - They'rrrrre great

PMSL  think we have had common experiences mate really bad news really wouldnt expect this especially considering what they cost us

  6. Doh! I'll be getting a Porshe next then

serious mate Aston are a joke. So many people saying about their experiences with the car. One guy purchased second hand from main dealer and in two weeks from purchasing the bottom end of the engine went. Aston turned round and said to guy that he should of checked the oil and they refused to do anything with it even though they sold it to him and claimed to have done a full service on it before the sale. I was told check the oil once a month. With 3 weeks of purchasing, I had clutch problem, fuel consumption problems and an oil leak on brand new car.

  7. Okay, I say this because I don't want anyone else to believe the hype of these cars, wish i could say was just mine but there are a plethora of other owners who share my views.

My experience with the Aston Martin has been for much of a better word... crap. Apart from the looks the satisfaction of owning one is null. They are poorly built, things kept going wrong and customer care was absolutely diabolical, even last week, the headlamp washer cover fell off  looking at it, was just a bit of plastic with a crappy rusty spring holding in place. The fitting of the boot was poor, you could almost see inside the boot and customer service was really bad. They came to collect the car because of problem with clutch (bearing in mind this is a brand new car), the guy looked over the car to make sure no damages on wheels blah blah blah and when they returned the car a week and half later the passenger side wheel was badly curbed. When I told the guy this he said you have to speak to office, I called up office and they said was not us was you :angry::rant::angry::rant::angry::rant: thankfully i had kept the paper that stated wheels were fine before they had collected the car, so on that they said okay we will change wheel, Bloody cheek like they are doing me a favour :rant:

Anyway, speaking to some friends and they gave me some sound advice, so I have now sold the Aston, and decided to take the sensible route with the next purchased. Wont be to everyones like but at least I can drive it knowing that the car is well made and wont have any problems with it. Have put the deposit down and the new car will be available March the first as wanted new reg plate.

Just thought Id give my experience, never again will I go with Aston

  8. but im not sure how you can say he is not a real fighter, he won tournaments (the same as jet li did before he became an actor). He fought in the French olympic team aswell...

So unless you are saying that fighting in tournaments is not real fighting..... ( i have seen a few martial arts tournaments up close and in those have seen a few people lose teeth, get a broken jaw and nose, and some severere bruising!) Sadly we will never know how any of them would stand up to a 6ft neo nazi with a machine gun and 6 inch nife.... who has just killed a member of thier family...

Now dont get me wrong im not a fan of him in particular, but my point is that im fairly sure he would woop most peoples arses, assuming he had a good enough motive...

Wiki needs shooting who posted that crap on JCVD they need to get facts right

  9.

Dude you do know JCVD fought in tournaments...18 wins to 1 technical loss....

I understand what you are saying im not a fan of jackie chan, but i still think he would woop most peoples asses....also dont forget he does all his own stunts....you should see his list of injuries he has recieved during his career

 18 wins 1 technical loss in demonstration kata, not fighting bud and they were honorary wins

  10. Donnie Yen is currently filming the second part of the IP Man story, which continues in Hong Kong from when he fled China.

Inresting fact is that Donnie didn't even practice Wing Chun prior to being cast in the film.

He adapted very fast tho, but that's prolly due to his natural martial arts skills.

He is one martial art artist in Hong Kong that's underrated. Bet he is miles better than Jackie Chan.

I met Jackie Chan years ago on the movie set the medallion when they were filming in Ireland, me and my brother had a meal with him and the director, really nice guy but am afraid to say he is not a martial artist, he is trained in the art primarily for filming. He has a whole school set up for fighting on screen. Jet Li and the guy in Ong Bak on the other hand are bad ass mo fo's.

But what I like about Ip Man was not the fight scenes but the way the whole story was put together, bloody brilliant i thought

There is a guy I know who is a Black belt & has run a Kung Fu school for years. He reckoned Jackie Chan was a brillant exponent of the art, in fact the best he had seen.

sorry mate but he theres knowing the art and then theres knowing the art. Van Damme had nice kicks and would of been great as a show kicker in tkd but as a martial artist he is far from. as someone who could defend himself, afraid not. Martial arts on screen and martial arts as a way of life are as different as chalk and cheese. Jet Li had to relearn his art for screen purposes, Ive done moves for a fight scene and it was bloody hard work, Jackie chan is a master at the art for screen, but get him to apply the art for everyday purpose and he is clueless
