  1. I think they only do tuning rather than mechanical work. Disks and pads are fairly easy to replace yourself to be honest - talk to Alex about your options (just dont buy from Nissan as you'll need a second mortgage).
  2. Moved the intro post to the relevant section so more people see it
  3. I regularly get over 39 mpg out of the X-Trail - 2.2 dCi sport. About 450 miles to a tank full. Loads of room in the back with the seats down/out and plenty for five with the seats up and still a big enough boot. Not a bad car to drive either, and the switchable 4x4 helps in the winter but means 2wd in the summer and better consumption.
  4. Just complete the first two stages of the AMG Challenge in the Special Events section and it appears...... as if by magic
  5. Easy enough (I fitted mine myself) but you do have to drill holes in the boot, so non-reversible.
  6. I think Zmanalex has a few of these lying around, might be worth a PM?
  7. You mean Paul as in P15ULT?
  8. Due to mine being butchered for reasons nefarious, I'm after a new engine cover. Ideally one in carbon fibre, but I'll consider anything with no mention of Nissan anywhere on it (even the rare JDM harness cover I sold and wish I hadn't last June if you don't want it anymore Jay?) I've no idea which traders (if any) do these anymore, so PM me if you've got anything you feel may be suitable
  9. I'm sure someone from the North East would be willing to help you. You can get a surprising amount in the boot - I managed a three week jaunt round Europe with a female friend with no problems (and she has a lot of shoes )
  10. Good call, never thought of ringing them Lincoln one is open all day, so off to Brum we go - first trip in the Zed for five weeks thanks to the snow! Let's just hope we beat Man Ure now
  11. Happy New Year one and all (though I'm sitting here working at 7 am after going to bed at 10 last night - until the bloody fireworks started at 12.30 am )
  12. Anyone know if Shell garages will be open today (New Year's Day). Need to get to Brum and have only a dribble left.
  13. lincolnbaggie (Though I'm currently bored rigid doing the endurance series )
  14. Think yourselves lucky you don't have oil-fired central heating - the price of that has doubled in the last 5 weeks. Was about 35 p/litre, now over 70 p/litre I'm now burning logs as it's cheaper than using the boiler.
  15. I'm about 15 miles north of Lincoln if I can help at all? PM me if needed.
  16. If you want to time laps at the ring, drive it in GT5, not real life. As others have said, driving the ring can be dangerous at the best of times, but trying to "out do" each other will end in tears Anyone trying to beat a set time could well end up killing someone else; shooting them first would stop that happening, so who's the bellend? A trip to the ring should be fun (it's worth it just for the car park), but posting up a "sub 8-min lap time challenge" shows a lack of maturity and respect for the ring in my eyes. All my own opinion of course
  17. Up to Level 23 this morning (and half way to level 24) - those seasonal events are great for money and improving your scores. Two gold and three silver in the five events so far! Position 23,000 in the first time trial with a mini though Got up to 4 million credits and then spent them all on cars for the Extreme series - three golds on there as well now, just won the touring cars around the Nordschleife at 7.27 (plus gold on all the levels below) (and, yes, the Veyron is useless) (and, yes, I really ought to get out more)
  18. Got to Level 22 last night I must get online at some point and give you young 'uns a pasting
  19. I wouldn't bother - you don't need them for an MOT and they don't clean your headlamps, they just squirt water all over your clean bonnet. I took them off my UK car as I was annoyed with the things.
  20. The game data is linked to the motherboard serial number somehow, so you can only restore to the same machine (new hard drive), not a new machine. Not bothered about any of my other stuff on there, just the GT5 saved game data. Guess I could buy a new hard disk and see if I can fiddle it somehow. Finally managed to back-up data on the old hard drive (after about 19 attempts), put a new hard drive in (250Gb drive from Amazon for £30), all formatted fine and restored my data - all working tip top again and everything still where it was Old drive is completely fubarred, so had a ceremonial chucking out of the upstairs window. Now got lots of space and am a happy bunny again
  21. They've all got protective film on the sills before the rear arches - nothing "Nismo" about it, and if the garage have told you that they are lying through their teeth. I'd still be careful - there will be a reason it didn't make reserve at the auction and car dealers generally know a dog when they see one.......
