This is my first post, although I’ve been lurking for a while.
I currently have a Cayman S and as much as I love it, I think it has to go. I ‘d like to free up some cash and have a bit of a project, something for weekends and maybe do a few track days.
I’ve looked at a few different cars (TVR 350C, VVX 220 turbo), but I’m interested in the Z350 because you can mod it to fairly big power for sensible money.
I thought I’d maybe spend about 18-20K on a car and 5k on mods of some kind. I’ve got a test drive lined up within the next few days.
A few questions for you
Does anyone have any info regarding the in-gear times of the Z (50-70mph, 60-80mph, that sort of thing)?
How hard is the ride on a UK car, I’ve seen a few Jap cars with more power and a more suitable engine for mods, but I’ve heard the ride is a bit to firm, is there any other difference between UK and Jap cars?
How much cash am I looking at, to get a supercharger installed which will give me about 400BHP?
How much does the TC interfere with the fun, the Cayman S is set up to be braver than I am and doesn’t seem to give a crap if I’m going side ways. What’s the 350’s like.
Do you feel the weight of the car under braking?
How fast is the 350Z A to B, the Porsche is greater than the sum of its parts and is really quick cross country?
