  1. Any of you guys checked them out yet?
  2. Has anyone had any dealing's with these guys? CRN PRODUCTS LTD, THE DEPOT, LINCOLN STREET, CHESTERFIELD, DERBYSHIRE, S40 2TW. 01246 559933 I've been quoted a total price £399 for EBC Groove discs and Redstuff pads in ebay. His feedback is pretty good. Obviously I want to get the best deal without sacrificing quality.
  3. Big Phil That I assume won't be fitted though will it?
  4. Sorry about this but it was too early for my brain this morning and some people didn't understand my quote so I thought I'd better start again, rather than amend it half way through the post. Standard set up (EBC standard discs and mintex pads) Front £225 fitted Rear £192 fitted Uprated set up (EBC Groovedisc and Redstuff pads) Front £320 fitted Rear £255 fitted I hope this makes better sense. How does this price sound. To Phil what would you charge mate for this set up?
  5. I've just had a quote for discs and pads and I'd like to run them past you all in case I can get a better deal elsewhere. Standard set up EBC Standard Discs £225 Mintex pad £192 Uprated set up EBC Groovedisk £320 Redpads £255 All prices include fitting. What do you think is it a good deal? I'm thinking about doing them myself if the cost of fitting is too much. Thanks in advance for any opinions.

    Ruined alloys

i went in to the shop yesterday. The guy had a look at them and agreed they shouldn't be like that. He told me to bring the wheels in and he'll send them back. I'm so glad I kept the old set now. Now I know the front and back wheels are different sizes. How will I know what the front tyres and what's the back. Is there sizes stamped inside? I'll keep you posted on any future developments.

    Ruined alloys

guy at another forum just posted this. I work for Ford mate and the Chrome effect laquer they use to finish their wheels is exactly the same, after a few miles they get chipped and then the water lifts the top coat. Ford will normally honour this under the 1st year warranty so i guess an aftermarket company should do the sme. What do you think.

    Ruined alloys

How much did it cost Stuey? I don't intend to pay for it myself the shop should but I'd like to know anyway.

    Ruined alloys

I would get pictures up mate but it was almost dark when I spotted them. Stuey how much did it cost to have them mirror polished? is there a downside to this? the reason i ask is if it's better then why don't they do this in the first place? Also I didn't know they wouldn't with stand a winter. This was never explained to me. If it was then I wouldn't have bothered with this type.

    Ruined alloys

his hasn't been my week. I bought new alloys (Ascari Pentas) for my car at the end of October 07. I've only driven about two thousand miles and today I noticed very strange marks on them. I took them to a specialist shop and the guy said these type of wheels are prone to this kind of damage. Apparently as they are wide dishes and polished they tend to chip easily and the water gets underneath the chip and marks them. The wheels cost me £1400 and look completely ruined. I'm gutted. I went back to the shop and the guy initially tried to fob me off. Then he told me to come back on Monday and speak to the manager. I don't know if I've posted in the right place but technically they are still under warranty but not Nissans so please move this post if you must. I want to pre-empt some knowledge about my rights before Monday. Where do I stand?
  11. I went in one of these in Durham a few years ago and spewed my ring. It might have been different if I'd been driving.
  12. Just as an update. My car has never cut out since. Definately weird.
  13. Right I'm 39, single and I live in a reasonably decent area. I have around 16 years no claims and have 20 years driving experience. My cars a JDM. Admiral want £623 if i declare I have kids but £527 without and that's £150 excess. Now my kids don't live with me so do I declare them or not? They only ask if I have kids under the age of 16. They don't ask if they live with me! I find this bizarre as kids surely are meant to make you a safer driver..........right?
  14. I bought myself a new set of alloys a few months ago. I want to sell my old set which were Nissan 17". What I want to know is what is the fitting for these cars? What I mean is I assume they won't fit all cars so what size description should I put down? Also the alloys have the little Nissan centres in them. Can I purchase new centres so I could sell to a wider audience or will these only fit a nissan? If so then there's no point changing them.
  15. Well it hasn't done it since (touch wood)
  16. Thanks mate but I'll shop around first. I think £100 is a bit expensive.
  17. Thanks mate. I was going to post this but I thought I was just imagining things. At least i know now. Struts direct contacted me today with the following message 'Thank-you for your recent enquiry, however unfortunately we will be unable to help you on this occasion as we do not have the specification for the Nissan 350Z boot struts' Can anyone help?
  18. Thanks mate but I've just emailed the people Rickya mentioned seeing as they can do them for half the price. I'll see what kind of response I get first. If they can't help then I'll contact Big Phil.
  19. Done that and the cars a JDM so no warranty. I'll try that company mate but I can't be arsed having to find out how heavy the boot lid is and also send one away. i'd rather have it done there and then. Edit: hey Rickya I've just noticed that link you posted was a year ago! What you been doing man ha ha. Can you let me know the spec for the boot strut required and I@ll send mine off? Cheers mate.

    I need new brakes

yeah I'll have a crack at fitting them myself. Not the braided pipes though! I've already tried to contact big phil twice but he hasn't replied yet!
  21. I'm not sure where to post this so move me if it's in the wrong place. I'm fed up the boot lid not staying up so I want to put stronger hydraulic rams in. Where can I get them?
  22. I've been told my discs and pads are nearing their end. I've been given a quote of the bog standard discs and pads fitted at £440ish. Is this a good deal? To be honest I'm considering upgrading them and getting vented discs and high performance pads. I'm also considering braided pipes. Two things I want to know. What type of discs and pads are best (road only)? How much am I looking at roughly for parts and fitting (ballpark figure)
