Better late than never... but after a serious case of ADD ( attention deficit disorder) maybe this will bring this thread back in track... BTW (Cool elfing...) On another note, I have started working on a simple solution to eliminate or reduce the road noise, and water splash to wheel arch, whilst maintaining the amount of exhaust noise getting into the cabin. Just by plugging some holes on the spare wheel area I have achieved a good level... next ... some trim removal...and additional ideas I will post details when I think I have got the best balance.

Nissan’s VQ Engine Receives Ward’s 10-Best Engines Award
Zzzz... replied to Zzzz...'s topic in 350Z General
would you say you drive a 20 year old car if you drove a brand spanking new 911? Woudl you say teh Golf Mk whatever it is now is the same as the Golf Mk1? Take pride and the fact Nissan have amanaged to keep VQ engines evolving to meet the best of the best. Irrespective of whether they are brand spanking new or not... I bet this VQ engine bares little or no resemblance to the very first engine.... -
I though you might want to know about this and brag about it... how many engines get this kind of accolades? Nissan’s VQ Engine Receives Ward’s 10-Best Engines Award - Dec. 14 − Soulful and Strong Powerplant Receives Award for 13th Straight Year − The Nissan 3.5-liter VQ V6 engine has been named to the annual Ward’s 10-Best Engines list for the 13th straight year by Ward’s Communications, Inc. It is the only engine that has been part of the list every year the award has been presented. The new, fourth generation VQ series, 24-valve 3.5-liter DOHC V6 powerplant, which is built at Nissan manufacturing facilities in Iwaki, Japan, and Decherd, Tenn., is offered in a variety of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the United States. These vehicles include the Nissan Altima, Maxima, Murano, Quest, and 350Z, in addition to the Infiniti G35 Sedan and Coupe, FX35 and M35. Ward’s award was based on the new 3.5-liter VQHR engine in the all-new 2007 Infiniti G35 with a six-speed manual transmission. As equipped in the Infiniti G35 sedan, the fourth-generation VQ-series V6 has been significantly rethought, with approximately 80% of major parts (except bolts, O-rings and clips) redesigned. The block features ladder frame construction for greater rigidity and crank journal and pin diameters have been increased. The block height has been increased by 8.4 millimeters to reduce piston side force and the engine center is now 15 millimeters lower, which also contributes to the G’s improved dynamic performance. The G sedan’s engine now has 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque (a significant power improvement from the previous generation VQ), an exciting engine sound and improvements in emissions and fuel economy. Voting for the best engines was a team of ten editors and writers for Ward’s AutoWorld magazine and Ward’s Engine & Vehicle Technology Update newsletter. The Award will be presented on January 9, 2007 at the Renaissance Center Marriott during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Zzzz... replied to AndyC's topic in 350Z General
http://www.mscp.org.uk/index_WestMidlandsCameras.html found this but no schedule for mobile ones... MODERATORS and LEADERS... i have a suggestion It seems possible that we could generate a thread purely with website locations for each county, of the schedules of mobile cameras....this would help people plan the route ahead and look out for ACCIDENT HOT SPOTS which are going to be monitored but the Police. Good Idea or Bad Idea? -

Michelin Pilots Sport are on... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Zzzz... replied to Zzzz...'s topic in 350Z General
Toyos P-zeros ....i guess you mean you prefer Toyos T1-s rather than Pirellis P-zeros right? P-zeros are pretty but michelins pilot sports have to be by far the best... my opinion....(by no means that of an expert, but at least i like to think...well informed Pirellis = good for a while but rubber deterioration means they'l harden up and become less grippy...so you'll end up with 4mm of tread and not gripping so much and you'll be driving a lot more sedately until you wear them down, because youn will not want to spend more dosh on tyres when they are still "quite new" Michelins = Good performance through out, but durability is not so good. but you guarantee good grip through out the life of the tyre... Toyos = Grippy but I think it wear and I am not sure of rubber quality and deterioration performance.... Other tyres, I have not experience other than Bridgestones, but I won't go into that ..... -
Force intelligence Bureau ?????? really F.I.B for short... they must be fibbing... also the warning comes from strathclyde police... and it refers to Machester and London? but it is plausible, so always worth thinking about what kind of scenes could develop, where a TWOCer would strike THANKS!

My recomendation Autum-Winter , Windscreen Demist Setting, Or face vents (for sweaty palm syndrome... Ambient Temp to suit Fan Speed Auto (unless you want a quick demist then yank it to the max) Spring summer Aircon on and any setting you like.

I think the system in the z is quite sensitive. The aircon system will always "condition the air" and this means some moisture will be removed when the A/C system is on. The system then drains the excess moisture out of the car through an a/c drain tube. (You will notice this more in the summer when there is a little pool of water under the car). However there will always be an amount of water in the system. If you Activate the A/C for a while, this will gather water in the system. If you then switch the a/c off and run the heater only, the hot air will absorb water in the system and deliver it directly to your very cold windscreen, where the air cools down and cannot carry so much water therefore creating the condensation effect. So continuouns switching from ac/ on to ac off will make this effect worse. In this particular car it is worse than others, but in effect all cars will suffer from this to some extent. My suggestion, run the car on fresh air ( not recirculation) full windscreen demist at 25deg+ for as long as you can, this will clear the moisture in the system and the cabin. Then don't use the aircon at all in winter . Saves on fuel, saves on hassle. (NOTE : Remeber to switch off the aircon when you turn the dial to windscreen as it automatically activates the airconif it was off) And if you hear about a/c needing cleaning etc... I can tell you that I am pretty sure the A/C systems on Nissan has an an antibacterial coating treatment to prevent any potential concerns from not running the A/C over winter... but if you feel you need to ( for your own peace of mind) run it for a hour or so every couple of weeks and then do the process i mention above... I have no problem at all with this method.

when I went to get my new tyres fitted the shop had a leaflet from a company in Milton Keynes... they refurbish alloys etc... but what interested me was that they made a statement: "exchange service available" ( on most models ) I guess this means you can give them a call and when you go and collect you get a refurb'd wheel for your old one without any waiting? if they stock z wheels... I have not tried them or checked them, but to me this is a great idea...so long as they can guarantee the wheel they give you has not been completely F@#@ed I am not sure if i am allowed to post company names so if a moderator says it is ok in these postings... and people are interested I will post it...

Sigh! Another policeman being let off speeding
Zzzz... replied to Kennydies's topic in Off Topic Discussion
You guys obviously don't understand ... For traffic offences the police require: -them getting a photo of a vehicle (privately owned, not state funded...) -them being unable to recognise the driver, or have enough evidence to prosecute... -them sending a letter to the owner of the car asking him to do their job...and identify the culprit. -easy money and no hassle. this case was to simple and clear cut... -

I find it unbelievable that any ride and handling expert would have chosen BS if they tested them in moist roads... maybe re050 are good, but i guess beinq Japanese helps, -
I just went to get 4 new michelin pilot sports fitted , as I feel the Bridgestones (with 4-5mm.) allow for 'lateral cornering techniques' a little bit too easily. Guys at work recommended the MPS...and boy where they right! immeditely the steering response was improved. And cornering takes a lot more effort to upset! I guess this will be one of the better upgrades i will make in this Car (651gbp worth of peace of mind)
