Just Dawned on me that we could have held the worlds largest meet of 350Zeds in the world !!! and we missed the opportunity of having the www.350z-uk.com posted in the guinnes book of records... ( we don't need a big number, so long as we are the first to declare this record...) http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/sea ... t%20parade I am not sure if we could get it "retrospectively validated, without an "independant guinnes adjudicator"... Maybe something to consider for next time...unless otherclubs take this on ...

I know why it took you two hours return I "spotted" you on the M6 south... (The gun metal coupe) ...you weren't "hanging around" on the motorway return journey , from what I remember ... It took me just under 3 hours to make it back to Bedford.

I might muddle up things here... but aren't the non-brembo brakes the same as the ones fitted in Nissan 200SX? Therefore anything specced for 200SX will fit ( you then need to consider the weight difference and probably not buy the standard pads but higher perfromance 200SX pads...) Before you take this advice can someone who knows for sure confirm this ?!?!?!?!?!

Considering he used a SAAB (Vectra in Drag?) as the base of his racer, I assume he is not allergic to odd vehicle choices... 1. Lamborghini Diablo (Original 2WD model maybe, pre-AUDI Era) 2. Classic Ferrari, 240Z, 280Z, etc. ( if he's happy to invest time and money) 3. Top notch original looking M3 E30 ( otherwise it is a bit chavvy ) 4. Honda NSX ( unique, technologically still miles ahead of many current models, different... but not so tuneable) 5. AND Of course ... 350Z... probably one of the best bases for expensive mods...( award winning engine with plenty of capability..., proven handling, solid reliability ( apart from fiddly niggly little concerns...)

That will be the actual exterior shape, already announced at the tokyo motorshow 2005 i think it was... As for engines I would not like to speculate but if I remember Nissan recently announced the launch of the all-new second generation 2008 G37 Coupe boasts a larger, more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine, available advanced 4-Wheel Active Steer system, bla bla bla... I would think that Nissan in Japan would have considered the "upgrade "option of adding a couple of turbos to this engine and making it "a bit" more interesting... If you add to this the Nissan V8 is mainly a truck engine (big SUV's etc...) I think we can make a pretty good guess-timate it will be easily 400bhp, any more than that will be a pleasant surprise...

I have just done my P3 service and my invoice shows a charge for 1L of brake fluid, but I am sure it is more like 1.4l...

My 2p worth... I think bikers require a lot of riding skill. Where as car drivers can get a licence get in a car and drive , if they are incompetent, actually the car will be forgiving, and in a way protect from their mistakes... and in the end, the car will look after the idiot driver ( up to a certain point.) Bikers who get their licence , get a bike and think it is going to be the same as getting on the car and drive, and they take the approach " it'll be allright" , are the ones who will push over and above their own limits and probably those of the bikes... but "nutter"bikers judgement on the options of overtaking are probably wiser than "nutter" drivers judgement on the options of overtaking... So I don't think we can blame bikers specifically. I Think if anything they take their safety much more seriously, even if they are sunday nutters, if they meet with other guys, I know the conversation will always turn to crashes, accidents, injuries etc... at some point. Some of that will always be absorbed... ( granted the idiot riders will think they are above it all... but they will soon be out of the roads anyway...) If anything I agree with previous comments Car drivers are more dangerous than bikers. Specially pulling out of junctions etc... It is my fear of other (car) drivers , and the fact I know my attention span will not be 100% on the road, part of the reasons that I am not taking my bike licence... and I believe you need to have confidence in these two items ( or skill enough to compensate for other dirvers) ... and as I say a car will forgive some small mistakes, a bike wont. This is probably an extreme case ... but the fact we can "loose sight" of bikers on junctions is something I always consider...and I will always pull in within the lane to let a bike go past, prevents anger, and dodgy manouvres, keep the karma on the roads... yoh!

I normally just get the "playstation" ( Gran Turismo4???) generation kids taking photos, in my neighbourhood. and After this "confused" looks , as you say they cannot figure out what it is...

I like the "reduce speed" photo too, specially after seeing the cop car belting up the hill ... ( i wonder if he was waiting at the top of the hill with his speed cam... ) as for the resolution, sorry ... I always take them at high res and then lower them, but I changed my laptop to Vista and lost my editing software... ( well actually I am not sure how to do it on this PC... )

I heard it was LeTANK... he told me he nearly had his car written off by a nutter in a clapped out legacy.but I don't recall the details.... LETANK WHERE ARE YOU please explain...!

I have had a A/C noise fan but I can only hear it at high fan speed, and it is a very high frequency noise. I have to have radio off, low vehicle speed (no road noise) , and full fan with 23deg C airflow to screen (100%) Because it is under very unusual conditions I decided to live with it...but it could be the fan bearing or free play on the fan axle which is causing the blades to touch the casing lightly and cause this noise.

regarding number plates.... haven't we been posting loads of photos "uncensored" already? and rmmackfc already posted a full frontal video, here, and all the photobucket accounts are open... if some one wants the number plates they will already have them. I personally don't mind number plates been on display... I can't imagine a car as rare as this one been common target for cloning. It will only be Z owners wanting to avoid london congestion, or average speed traps, etc... but all Z owners are NICE , HONEST People, aren't we? I don't know to be honest this is only my opinion...

I can tell you road noise levels will be marginally better for two reasons: -Smaller cabin space ( you dont have a huge boot area where noise from road can resonate ) -The greater amount of metal below waistline to compensate for the lack of a proper roof...which should dampen road noise a bit better... As for wind noise probably worse but not sure how much more and at what speeds... I'm a metal roof man myself... based on past experiences I found them very usefull ...

First of all THANKS for an unbelievable day... it was awesome... I have now uploaded some pics, I have been playing with ... hopefully some a bit different from the ones already posted...not all the pics not all the cars but to all of you ... THANK YOU The link http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w229 ... LES%20III/ but also need to make a point ... Stuey, next time park some where away from my ZED... If there was ever a better photo to show the visual effect of what a wheel can do... ( BTW 10/10 for your car... ) (is it just me or does my car looks anorexic??? )

I think they are probably rightr in not replacing it ( well if they follow the service schedule, it says replace LSD oil UNLESS it is viscous coupling type, and the zed is a viscous limited slip diff, so I think it should not be replaced... I just wanted to know if anyone has had it replaced... the other bits are going straight to the management tomorrow...as well as their inability to diagnose evident problems... (change gear 4th to 6th) ( even my girlfriend with the technical ability of a 3 year old can recreate the concern as I explained to them...)
-
Hello Just come back from collecting my car after its P3 service... a few things I noticed... They have not replaced the LSD oil, They have not replaced the cabin air filter The engine oil looks like it has been topped up rather than replaced, (same colour as it went in... gold brown coloured Has anyone here had the LSD oil replaced under normal P3? (not the guys who take their own oil in... etc...) I checked the inspection sheet and it does say R ( replace) L.S.D gear oil ( except viscous coupling type) Since the 350Z rr is a viscous limited slip diff, I think it means you are not supposed to replace it ( correct?) I am going back in again tomorrow PM to check a few missing items , and the fact that they are unable to detect a continuosly occurring problem when changing from 4th to 6th gear. I feel like I forked out 284.03 pence for an oil change and greasing the hinges of the doors...FFS!!!!

Ferry crossing was 80 quid each way (Pembroke-Rosslare) I put the thumbs of big piccies , if requested I will put full size...( but they are 2MB pics each... The p3 quote came at 299 all included. ( i have asked them to diagnose several warranty items also) - Window dropping at motorway speed (wind noise) - Gear Crunch when changing from 4th to 6th (6th gear synchro maybe on its way out?) - Potential clutch drag and first gear crunch noise when trying to select first just before coming to a stop ( not very frequently though, and it is not about depressing the clutch... it is always down to the floor.) - Top Coat peeling off around the antenna mast fixing. ( found out last week!) We'll see how we ( me and my dealer) will get along... They already tried to fob me off saying "I should not be changing from 4th to 6th... the synchro is not designed for that..." U N B E L I E V A B L E ... I told them to check it and come back to me with a better explanation ( and a repair date.)
