As a basic out line ....how i think of it... Think of it as the Rear wheels pushing the front ones... on a straight line the RR push directly the fronts forward... If you power the rear and the car is not on a straight line , they will not directly "push" the front forward, they will try and overtake the front (slide baby...just slide...) works for me anyway... Brake early into a bend. Steady throttle/speed through the corner... no brake or accel to unbalance the car... Do NOT accelerate until you are in a straight line... little by little youn will get the feel of where the acel point can be and what amount you can get away with , but it will take time... 1st lesson... do not acel ( or brake !!!) in a turn...

Hello and welcome -
The gear change problem I think I have also got it... is it a vibration "buzzing noise"? when you hit around 3000rpm in third? I think ... What it is is the leather boot in 3rd, gets trapped between the surround and the rubber shift boot that is below. (The white cone is some felt noise material, below that is a moulded rubber boot.) As for the fuel lid have you tried greasing the hinge area to free it ... it could be something as simple as that?

Correct and at least the strosek kit has had aerodynamic testing and validation so the wing actually does what it is supposed to do as opposed to the wing designed by a a little chap who likes video games, in a country where 110kph is HIGH speed... Japan Aerodynamics kits ( with a pretty name attached? or German kits designed with Autobahn Experience....? hummmmmmmmmmm difficult choice... For me the Strosek KIT rocks... (Ok apart from the big gun shot wound on the front bumper... )

engine oil replacement between services is unnecessary...the purpose of oil is to lubricate and reduce friction damage. These engines get tested and run in conditions neither of us will ever use the engine and for unbelievable amounts of time... on the specified oils and filters... If you have the correct levels, oils and filters , there should not be a need to replace in between services... Overkill, and a waste of money because I am sure you will not buy cheapo stuff...and increasing the damage to the environment...

I am not sure if it does add value but if given the option...would you not prefer to have 1/176? only by this (perhaps slightly geeky) logic, the closer to the first of a series I would have though would have been more desirable... perhaps a similar logic to saying the 176/176 The last of the series... And if I knew it was NMGB's own vehicle I think it would all add up to " a bit of history" behind the car... but that is just a thought... and in no way an expert valuer of vehicles and limited editions...just mad logics... but personally, this would sway me enough that if it was like for like vehicle comparisons, but this one cost a bit more... i would probably go with this one... to another "in between number" personal opinion, that's all...
-
-I would put a bet that car belonged to NMGB 3rd GT4 out of 176... ( adds a bit of value? maybe?) -Camden I think is the company that deals with all the ex-company cars from Nissan... -Maybe the demonstrator, press car... (maybe ragged, but probably highly maintained... hence the expectation on the price) Go on ... someone call them and ask who the previous owner was....?

rubber pants in the right setting could be ok...

they are generally better, and more reliable than old style... high speed wiping performance is much better, and judder problems are reduced. below is some explanation from one of the main OEM suppliers

it is a MONGREL! -an old ford v8 engine tuned up...old technology.. just grunt ( they needed an engine that could be validated/homologated for US in their desperate attempts to break into new markets... -Some italian tuning of the chassis and platform -A quick styling job by MG ( granted by an excellent styling guy), but with a great aspirations and poorly executed by rover engineers ( not their fault... you could not design anything properly if the development budget was not there... -Made in a factory somewhere in italy, unclear what kind of build quality standards etc... Emotionally I can understand people hoping this car to be a good performance car and perhaps a"legacy" of what rover could have been... but practically it is botch...I would even buy a a monaro VX8 R whatever that thing was....

That's true, ok so maybe only the the owners club will help. But the TVR at least look gorgeous... that looks plain odd

From WIKIPEDIA The MG Rover Group purchased Qvale, which had taken over development of the De Tomaso Bigua. This car, renamed the Qvale Mangusta and already approved for sale in the U.S., formed the basis of the MG XPower SV, an "extreme" V8-engined sports car. It was revealed in 2002 and went on sale in 2004. Designed by MSGR, the racing division of the MG Rover Group, the SV was based on the structure, suspension, engine and gearbox of the Mangusta. The car was built largely in Italy, with some fitting and pre-delivery customisation in the UK. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qvale" THE ITALIAN EQUIVALENT OF A TVR "KIT" CAR ... Italian build, low volume kit like build... (don't do it ... you are better off buying a TVR which you can probably take back to a dealer who will care...) or find the real thing... http://www.qvaleauto.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qvale_Mangusta

have you been going into deep puddles with your z and in high heels?!?!?!?!?

GT-R are words which are not even allowed to be muttered in the design centres in Japan... it is that confidential that they will not even make social chat about it... so very little is know...only a chosen few in the UK offices have driven it.. "the Stig-type" sentences fly around here all the time but no one will give any facts...e.g "some say the it does not have wheels, but small nanotech jets spinning round the hub axles, all we know is that it will be called the GT-R" (we have to joke about it because it is that secret...) ... however Mr Carlos Goshn said 2nd half of 2007 so it will be this year, I have little doubt about it... and if you look at the 'ring' videos the level of camo is very low, so it is on the latest phases of development ( fine tuning so to speak)... If you like 350Z and the R34skylines behaviour and handling you can expect this to be better than these two. And the power will be more than enough to be playing with the players...and I mean the porsche league...not the uprated ozzy carltons with 4 doors league... Other than the fact both cars you mention have high power, I cannot put them in the same categories...GT-R is the one... patience is all that is needed...

I don't know about you guys but there are a few mad guys in my work who will do anything for a few quid in aid of charity... A couple of these are doing the Mongol Rally , in a Nissan K10 Micra! http://www.mongogolia.com/index1.htm If you have a few minutes go and have a look...they would appreciate the visits and "hits" to try and promote their webpage. (They've set up this web page and if you think it is a worthy cause and worthwhile encouraging these nutters to do it... follow their "just giving" logos and give a little ...) Basically 10,000 miles, 7 mountain ranges, 3 deserts, bandits, roads ranging from bad to non-existent and all this in a car you swapped for a bag of crisps? Find out more.. Travel a third of the way around the earth, from London to Mongolia in any crap car that has an engine with no more than 1 litre of power. Starting from London, the rally finishes in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar around three weeks and a whole heap of adventure later.
