Hummm not sure , but random thoughts...based on old experiences... 1. Fuses? Sometime units had fuses in the back and they could blow. 2. You haven't mentioned it but i guess CD and tape works... 3. You get noise on the speakers (speakers are correctly connected and working) 4. I am not sure but on other cars the antenna base amplifier sometimes could get water ingress and eventuallty corrode and fail... not sure about zeds...maybe worth trying a longer antenna if it is only not being able to amplify signal ... but it could also be a complete base failure and therefore no signal failure... other than this ... not sure what else it could be... unless it is a tuner fault on the bose unit... but never heard of any like this...
-
have you changed to a stubby aerial since the problem occurred? My Bose can keep tune of the the preset stations ( for example Radio 1) but now if I scan it cannot find Radio 1 for example... (I live in bedfordshire) but if I revert to my old whip-aerial it picks it no prob. An acceptable sacrifice for style ... in my opinion... If this is not it... Have you moved, tampered with antenna and antenna base? Removed trim panels etc.....(could you have trapped the antenna harness? broken the connector or damaged it slightly...?)

I think I will independantly enquire as well... I might mention later on that my cousin tried to contact earlier on, and no reply, therefore I am contacting him directly from nigeria...

That will work in any language and city... the thing is I can actually believe that you would have a B-bat in the back ... as a sports man that you are of course... considering it was sunday traffic in London...( no couirers, deliveries etc...) there is no way you'll see me in there in a weekday... Mad Place...

If there where no locating holes it would be an easy job to remove the side indicator , plug the Z4 LED ring indicator and put the badge over the hole of the indicator. Having the location holes for the badges means filling them up etc... a right pain in the posterior... i'll forget that idea...

and in the event of a clapped out escort ( or a cabbie!) wanting to get my space in my lane... if it boils down to letting him in or letting him add another scar to his hack and a notch in his steering wheel, I much rather give way and keep my paint as untouched as possible... but i noticed Astons Bentleys etc etc... if they are standard looking they get cut in etc...just as much but the modified ones seemed to get away with a lot more... you'll probably get away with it, as you car looks mean ... they'll move out of your way...

Question... Is the badge purely a "stick-on", with no location boss for the badge? and is the body painted beneath the badge?

Also does anyone know if the adhesive vinyl type number plates are legal or not? For the front only...

Of course! No Z comes out of factory with them fitted, it is a dealer fit item so all dealers will fit them for you, and claim the money for them as aftersale sale, even if you buy from new ...
-
I may have a few lying around if you are interested, Actually I think they are from a Micra but might fit just the same ... a picture would help... but i guess it is a metal clip, 15mm wide. 22 mm long and the hole in the middle for a self tapper... pm me if you are interested, with postage address.

Stubbys aerials are everywhere... a few in halfrauds Honda S2000 stubby in Ebay fits ok. Otherwise try and get one from an x-trail, or ebay USA sell a really tiny stubby one 2" I think... but remember the shorter it is the worst it will perform...(reception wise... )

at 50 quid I would be interested also!

maybe a bit weird but ... to be honest an lot of the time i thgouht those digs etc where amongst good mates, because otherwise i thought they where a bit too "sharp" for general forum members and would not be acceptable... and as they have been going on for a while it just seemed to confirm the theory that it was amongst "the closer group" of more veteran members... in a way it gave me the impression of being several levels of members 1. The Admin Mods 2. The more veteran (Post-Whores etc) who I though knew each other well enough to develop a more "personal approach" in the threads...bitchin included, but i though was all in good nature... 3. The rest ( me included) where we chip our bits and bobs every now and again... stir a bit a little but never get too personal as we are not in the upper "echelons" of the forums... Forget the personal issues, move on, it is not worth it, and focus on what puts us in here ... our interest on the ZEDS... that is the point of this place...right? Share our experienZes, ask our doubtZ, share our findZ

brake pads alone will have a noticeable difference and if you have brembos you have a decent setup already! The driver training was through work...3 days...probably around 1grand... so around 300 quid a day... but it was 2 years ago and this need to be refreshed regularly otherwise bad habits kick in very quickly... Different companies provide different packages, but a days training (Half Road and Theory, and Half on a track will give you some decent foundation to decide but make sure it is a decent supplier. I have only experience of this guy in the past he's very good but maybe expensive privately? He did my training when i worked in Honda ... http://www.totalcontroldriving.com/comp ... tions.html But "ride and drive" http://www.ridedrive.co.uk/index2.html is the forum recommended school and maybe someone here can advice. other than that I know of the guy who runs CAT driver training, and he waqs involved in the development for europe of the 350Z (tuning aspects of the japan JDM, to make it more driveable in Europe), so he knows a bit about the car and what it can do... but i am not sure what the story is between this forum and CAT...

Sorry I could not resist it.... I am in a stoopid mood today...

Sorry if this is this sounds like "old man" telling "young Wipper-snapper" the ways of the world... but don't waste money on power upgrades... IT IS a waste of money... Plus at 18 i am guessing that 280bhp is going to be a bit more than you have probably driven before and definetely on a RWD car? I have done some driver training, and limit handling stuff a few years ago... and I still find this car can completely catch me out ... Do the suspension, do the brakes, yes but not the power ... and in my opinion I would invest in learning to use the 280bhp to the max...I've said this before , but on an a road , some one who can REALLY drive could definetely thrash the sh!t out of me in a MONDEO , i have no doubt of that ... and no excuse of how many horses or how upgraded the car is will excuse the fact he thrashed me in a sedan... however learn to use the 280bhp to the max ... and a) your insurance will drop, you'll minimise your risk of accidents... ( I know i have a few and the insurance is not good...) c) you can be sure that the fast guy in the mondeo will NOT be able to keep up.... d) you can let the AstonM brigade (or the bad BMW drivers , Not you KEV of course only the ones that give the bad reputation...)know what it feels to be thrashed by a Nissan car... Shocks? yes, Tyres ? YES, Springs? Maybe...Brakes? Definetely CAPTAIN SENSIBLE SIGNING OFF

yep 250 units to pass homologation requirements... etc... it's the only beetle i would consider been seen in... you can get a replica bodykit though... or you could go the totally girly route
-

Sorry not really very familiar with streets names in London... 1 Kuro NISMO Kitted, parked (all day by the looks of it..) on SLOANE STREET perhaps... a road a little bit up from Harrods, near Tommy Hilfiger Shop and Opposite Gucci? 1 GM driving down the same road maybe around 10:30 ish 1 Orange driving past Harrods, around 15:00, (I was the guy on the GM looking dopey at you... ) in saying this, Z's much "rarer" car than ferrari, Aston M, Bentleys etc... scary drivers in this part of the world... Not coming back into london for a while ...

Ahh ! and a new fresh set of brake pads... ( Ferodo 2500 something or other... I heard they are pretty good... they are my next purchase... ) Big Phil if you are reading this... a price reminder for ferodo pads would be nice...
-
If you have got bridgestones ... start by changing the tyres... you'll notice a step improvement, something like Toyos or Michelins...
