  1. Hold on guys ... am i missing something?... The ad does not say it is a GT4 (Edit... it does say anniversary edition ops... ) you can buy the alloy wheel in ebay and have them fitted... I nearly did not long ago... it may be overpriced, but just because it has GT4 rims does not mean it is trying to deceive is it? Also I like the RR LED in silver ( same as the RED 06 model), original accessory option available only in JAPAN ( quite exclusive... ) again I am trying to get my hands on some... would go quite well on a GM maybe not so good on a kuro...
  2. It would not put me off, in fact I really like the red Zeds... I heard that some of the recent reds applied by nissan are metallic or have in fact a clear coat lacquer over the base colour. This should remove any issues or problems of fading of colour on red cars... which where prone to. Do we know if the chilli red has a clear base coat of colour red and a clear top coat, or just a colour coat ?
  3. know the facts... before you jump into something... There are plenty of cars out there with remaps , but you have to be able tp understand where it is safe to remap and continue as normal... or where the remaps etc... will require you to take additional steps to run the car (extra maintenance, extra upgrades, etc...)
  4. or "too prepared" is that you can cover the job role offered very well, and from the company perspective you are a risk as you are likely to a. get bored with it within a year or so and move on... b. as soon as you prove you can do the job over and above expectation... that you will aspire for a promotion they cannot afford/provide.. therefore in a year or so you'll leave leaving them with another 10k in recruitment fees to get another guy... next year or so... maybe you are a not a cost effective risk...
  5. You managed to get a Nissan Dealer to be nice and admit poor service!?!?!?!? THERE IS A GOD
  6. What you need then is the CarChip #8221EX CarChipE/X includes all the features of CarChip, plus four times the data storageâ€â€up to 300 hours of driving data. (The actual number of hours will vary, depending on how frequently you log data.) As with CarChip, you'll get time and date for each trip, distance, speed, hard accelerations and decelerations, and engine diagnostic trouble codes. With CarChipE/X, though, you'll also be able to monitor any four out of 23 user-selectable engine parameters, including: • RPM • Throttle position • Engine load • Fuel pressure • Fuel system status • Short- and long-term-fuel trim • Battery voltage • Timing advance • Coolant temperature • Air flow rate • Intake air temperature • Intake manifold pressure • Oxygen sensor voltage Plus, if you're unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, CarChipE/X will automatically generate an accident log showing the last critical 20 seconds of speed. Includes data logger, software on CD, and USB cable for downloading data. yours for the sum of ...180 dollars... from this website http://carchip.co.uk/store/product_list ... _group=101 i might have to go this way myself... but i am trying to get a ebay special... scrooge that I am....

    recalls?

Apologies for CAPS lock ( just copy/pasted) According to VOSA.org.uk NONE According to the NHTSA (US) http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/probl ... esults.cfm 1. Recall ID# 05V555000 - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Model Affected: 2003 NISSAN 350Z , Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE FUEL FILLER HOSE MAY CRACK AND RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE FROM THE HOSE WHILE REFUELING. Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE 2. Recall ID# 03V455000 - ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Recall Date: Model Affected: 2003 NISSAN 350Z (NOT APPLICABLE TO UK DEFINETELY!) Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR OR CAM POSITION SENSOR MAY HAVE AN IMPROPER SOLDER JOINT DUE TO SOLDER DEFORMATION CAUSED BY HEAT STRESS ACCELERATED BY THE EXISTENCE OF FLUX RESIDUE DURING THE SOLDERING PROCESS. Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" WARNING LIGHT TO COME ON, CREATE A NO START CONDITION, CAUSE REDUCED ENGINE POWER, OR CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. But don't panic as I am sure if they where an issue for any car in UK they would have issued a recall in UK, so I imagine they have been countermeasured. If you do have any doubts or worries , go to your local dealer I am sure they can re-assure you...
  8. I am on it... but i need a friendly american seller who will ship to the UK... and these seem to be lacking... there are a couple going cheap on ebay...
  9. N95 seems to be the poodle's privates ... 5.5 mp camera, internet, gps, etc etc etc oh yes and it makes phone calls as well ...
  10. The latest Valve Control system is called VVEL Variable Valve Event Lift or somthing like this ... but essentially a similar system... for the geek inside of you... Will be applied on the G37 just released... I am not sure (can't remeber) if the VQ35HR on 07MY will have VVEL
  11. It is like a VTEC system on a honda, or VVT on Toyota. After Combustion process in the cylinder the exhaust valve opening will be controlled by an electronic system which monitors engine speed, throttle position, Air flow etc... and decide the optimun valve opening height, and time to remain open, overlap to the inlet valve opening etc... so that at any engine speed, drive condition, you get the optimum exhaust gas discharge and allow more fresh air and fuel into the cylinder, improving the combustion process and getting a few extra horses along the way... that's my theory anyway...
  12. Hello chaps... Have any of you got any experience with this OBD Datalogger? Seems an easy and potentially cheap way of gathering vehicle data from the OBDII connector. (PLUG and record data for x amount of time and then download it to PC and check stats... will even delete DTC from ECU?) http://www.davisnet.com/drive/products/ ... pnum=08211 or anyone has any OBDII datalogger equipment ( I mean datalogging not just "real time" visualisation) THANK YOU

    recalls?

I think this is WRONG!!!! you CAN get your recalls fixed after warranty. Note that some recalls have been announced years after warranty expired. A recall in UK is always a Safety Critical Related item ( i.e. Nissan knows this is potentially likely to cause a serious injury or death, due to a poor design.) So if Nissan issue a recall is to rectify this item irrespective of warranty status... (I am sure it is the same in US, safety critical...) 1. a recall announced in the UK will be covered at any point in time. 2. a recall announced in the US and occurring in UK in the same parts (sometimes maybe they changed something for UK spec...) could be argued easily to have it fixed, due to the fact that nissan acknowledge the fault in US... bad publicity and watchdog effect if they reject the claim... 3. A JDM or EU spec, is irrelevant , SO LONG, as the parts concerned are the same and the cause is the same. There is always differences in US recalls and UK/EU recalls and I think it used to be easier to not declare the recalls in EU if there was "reasonable doubt..." but nowadays, with the advent of internet...and public visibility of these items, I think OEM have to honour judgments they make globally, not only focusing on Europe market.
  14. I agree , in a way giving a contribution in some sort of way would generate a closer bond to the club, and i would be up for this. But I think it would have to be anonymous, otherwise it could generate a feeling amongst those who do not contribute, of potentially "not being in the club"... and this can generate a less relaxed feel to the club. An anonymous contribution via a pay pal button would be a great idea, and it could be targeted against a set of "projects" which ADMIN and MODS, and users could propose or suggest, vote for the most popular and then save the contributions until we reached the magical figure, for example: -Increasing Forum bandwidth capacity = X amount of GBP, -Merchandise = x amount of GBP -Purchase of specialist tools (OBDII toolset..) which could be kept by Admins and Mods in different parts of the country and loaned/hired for small fees. -FanZines... ( I haven't heard that word in a while...) -Exclusive booking of small tracks for 350z-uk.com meets... -Marquee facilities for meets, -ebay shop management... etc etc... it could add an awful lot of work to people , but could also enhance the club appeal and visibility
  15. Correct ! Recall is issued and recorded in the government register as a Safety Related issue which can lead to a serious or fatal injury. US is more stringent than Europe in this respect. This will involve a high level management of rectification activity of all cars potentially affected by the concern, and an oficial register of what cars have been recalled and percentages "pending". Very Expensive, and bad publicity. If the OEM (not only Nissan ...)thinks it is not a safety critical issue but requiring rectification they can do something like a "silent campaign" so, when the car comes in for a service, regular maintenance, other warranty claim repair etc...the silent repair will be carried out and recorded. Or they can deal with it on a case-by-case basis... depending how grumpy the customer is...
  16. I like th statement on the description: LMAO It is an aerodynamic aid...
  17. Front tyre feathering rear boot struts Skipping CD player clicking rear axles Check paint work at front for stone chips. (or lack of chips = re-spray!) -6th gear synchro - (there is good way of detecting wear on the synchro and baulk ring. Drive it or let him drive it...and ask him to change from 4th to 6th gear when driving over 2000rpm...( for example when joining a motorway slip road... if the gear crunches you will know the 6th gear synchro and baulk ring will need replacing soon.) -Driver window glass dropping a little bit at high speed. (70-80mph) and you get wind noise... easy fix = adjust window position.
  18. I guess he though ....if it is good enough for these guys...
  19. A Show-off Whore? i don't know either...
  20. I have to say upfront I have no idea of audio... but my 2 pence worth... the chap who fitted them in Japan might have wanted a FWD bias on the speakers and underspecced the RR. Maybe you need to check power output spec for each speaker... Front and Rear By the way the make you are talking about is Carrozzeria which is a Japan unique brand from Pioneer , I think like Lexus for Toyota ...high end stuff http://pioneer.jp/product/index.html ( in Japanese unfortunately)
  21. [following this item up...] I will be buying a beemer.... It is possible to get 80microns. My assumptions were very incorrect... So I retract any defense I made of Nissan and paint manufacturing process...
  22. YEP! hate birds... of the winged variety, that is... PLus I also have two CRATERS , and 1 paint laquer eaten off , on my bodywork from bird-s... ( i knew about it when I bought it, and i did get the z very cheap, i think....) I need to accumulate a few more imperfections and then a full re-spray might be a simpler and cheaper idea.... I currently have a 500 quid for a roof respray tailgate ( ensuring no colour mismatch to the RR quarter panels )n I need a re-spray round the aerial to fix lacquer peeling off... And 1 minor (slightly major) parking indiscretion on the lower edge of the front bumper... due to a slightly higher than average kerb... Other than that great car!
  23. or a pound for the jet wash and hit is at a very shallow angle? I hate bird-S ( it might even be slightly complusive) to the point I would not get anywhere near it, so cloths which require me getting anywhere near it...etc...... no no no no
  24. No fag lighter , you can get an accessory one if needed... plus Nissan don't want to encourage drug use...
  25. IF you want to consider buying any of the items below, can I suggest the following : 1. Copy the last post with the listing... to your reply/post 2. Add an "X" against the item you want 3. Next guy can do the same etc etc so we keep the latest complete updated list at the end of this thread or perhaps admin - mods can do a very big POLL with all the items? (I am not too sure how thoses polls appear at the top opf pages...)
