I think you underestimate the boot capacity of a ZED... Wheels off, seat post off pedals off and you could get an MTB in the boot. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... =bike+boot Or you could make your own trailer hitch... and fix a bike rack to it ... http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/Z-Trail ... t5521.html

Your colour is like the for the Z, it highlights it nicely... but it is what's underneath the highlight that counts...

yep, i was trying to wind you up cos' i know your strong stance on wheels... (I'm with you on the forge/cast issue, but also see that many people will nover really benefit from forged wheels... so not worth their money.) good crack...now who can i wind up next....

Look I am not saying EBC are bad... not at all, I am of the opinion the same as you with CAST and FORGED, for the sake of 0.1p extra/mile i rather have the best pad i can afford. I don't have data for EBC specifically, however I have seen deterioration curves for different brake pad compounds under different types of test, during vehicle development and it does happen, they will deteriorate in performance, not to cause any concern but they do. Of course it depends on usage, and the bottom line is that if the std. OEM pads can lock the wheels up, what more performance do you need? The only thing to say to this is, can OEM perform at extremes of usage?, the answer is probably no, as it is designed for real world usage and cannot cover 100% of all usage in the markets, and there are some trade-offs against brake noise , wear amount etc... This is where better pads come into play, focusing on some performance aspect (in this case high speed , high temperature braking, and fade resistance performance) and sacrificing on others (Noise, wear, cold performance etc...), in order to cover a specific "harder usage" I don't consider the extra cost a big burden on the overall cost of running the car for the sake of extra piece of mind (and I recognise it is EXTRA piece of mind...) & I am not disregarding EBC pads, but I decided on Ferodo, based on the fact that they are the same OEM supplier, they have a greater reputation/history (know-how) than EBC, and that in other Nissan and Honda vehicles I worked with, they have always performed better than whatever they tested at the time... I will say however that the Ferodo don't half shed brake dust! That's my approach anyway...

76 quid over 10000miles (approx of life of the pads...) = less than 1pence/mile extra over the life of the pads, for the extra piece of mind that you have a pad that will retain its better braking performance over the life of the pad, compared to other pads, where the braking performance will degrade with time.... 0.1p more/ mile for greater safety and performance.... cast or forged is a performance enhancement, not a safety enhancement (I will say there is a small indirect safety enhancement in lower unsprung weight but this is a marginal issue)that some people will notice but majority won't in their normal driving life... if we say you pay 500 quid more for 30,000miles of average vehicle ownership... it works at around 2p/mile (It will be higher if you drive less than this... !) Pay 0.1pence/mile for extra safety or pay 2p/mile for cool wheels that reduce unsprung mass make you quicker (marginally)? and therefore need better brakes...

Hellowelcome to the forum, and may I take this opportunity to try and persuade you not to bother coming to the UK....really... it is not worth it. If you import it , apart from the shipping, you'll probably need to have it Homologated to UK requirements... I am guessing you'll need headlamp conversions, RR fog light addition Change KM/H to MPH and i guess other bits and bobs... SVA is the name of the test (Single Vehicle Approval) http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Bu ... DG_4022105 you'll have to get a garage to do it and it will be charges at top rate because it won't have been imported through them... You are better off getting yourself a Jap grey import or UK spec which should be relatively cheap, and more hassle free than the transport... This is unless you already have given her a name like Eleanor, and talk to her daily, and have impure thoughts involving Eleanor. In which case I can understand you want to bring her with you... My SuZi gets very jealous and lonely if I don't speak to her daily and caress her tight leather clad ... ermm better stop now... WELCOME ANYWAY!

Of course this evaluation was carried out in a private track ... since you would not be posting on a public forum a public highway infringement would you?

Can't you hire/adopt for a few weeks a nicely trained german sheppard or pitbull terrier, that barks and threatens the life out of people ( but does not bite, of course...) I always foud this a great detterrent... to be honest a really barky labrador with a sense of territory protection will do as well. I bet you the kids will think twice about getting close to your property...

similar reasoning can be applied to forged and cast wheels ?

The main risk after Speed cams on GPS are the mobile laser types, a police on foot can't do you for speeding unless he has a hand held laser.... When I first arrived in this site, somebody pointed me out to this site... it is a parking sensor which works on laser signals, unfortunately if you forget to disable this device whilst driving, it interferes with the laser speed guns... and they cannot read the speed of your vehicle... So remeber to always switch it off whilst driving... you will need 2 of course one of reverse car parking and one for front bumper parking... http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/laserpropark.htm

South East Monthly Meet:Cowfold on Sunday 15th June 2008

They do look quite smart... I don't suppose you need to be very smart to get there? It would be quite a smart idea for two (Fourtwo )members to organise all the meet details.... let the puns being... (apologies I am in a stupid mood today....) -
speedos are not allowed to under read i forgot... and they become less accurate at higher speed ( show higher speed than you are actually doing...) and the accuracy gets better at lower speeds... I would ask them to send you the photographic evidence, to confirm it was you driving.... then sign the 60quid 3 point standard fine thingy... once the evidence is provided and posted by the police. I think if every one does this, the administration processing and costs just to post the picture...will end up with extra police running costs trying to provide evidence for thousands of fines, currently the majority just pay without even seeing the evidence.... ... if we all did it the costs will escalate, but they will not be able to justify extra funding as this is really a "basic" and "fundamental" requirement (to provide proof of the charge) and because of these costs, they might try and be more reasonable with speeding claims so close to the mark... (you never know the photo might show 2 ferraris, a truck and a whole other range of possible obstructions....giving some kind of "reasonable doubt case") but my advice is ... pay up 60 quid and 3 points is better than the alternative and they will more than likely win.

I though there was this unwritten rule of the 10%, considering errors on measuring equipment, the fact that your speedo could have been indicating 30mph but out by 10%, hence doing actually 33%, and compounding these two errors , I though they would only do you if they recorded greater than 33... SOrry to hear that...but rest in the comfort that you have now started the "roadRunner awards" you can be the holder of the Road runner logo, until someone else gets done and then you can transfer the "honour"... We do this at work, and we have a toy on top of our desks to see who is the latest offender...I've had the award a couple of times... MEEP MEEP...

just on a little practicality... but if you sign the petition to abolish this muslim request, aren't you then making a nice targetting list, say if ... Mr Bin Laden (not the married one but the AWOL one) and his colleagues to search through the phone book and find you...? the original one could have quite easily have been put in by someone to find out who would "counter-propose" it... or am i being too paranoid...

ok today is one of the first time I am going to try to do all processes wash, clay, polish and wax... some advice about polish and wax... when they say "apply to a small area" and then buff to a shine... etc... what does a "small area" entail... Palm size? Half a door panel? Quarter of a door? and how do people prevent getting white bits which tend to appear after a few days... (remains of polish...) very annoying...because i check and double check... and you still get them 2 days later... (maybe after rain/dust?)

I was reading about cows, global warming, and contributions to the green house effects... and cows are greater culprits than all transport (including planes put together) "Perhaps the report's most striking finding is that the livestock sector accounts for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions – more than transport, which emits 13.5%." (from http://environment.newscientist.com/cha ... reats.html) Methane is probably the biggest greenhouse gas problem with livestock. As a greenhouse gas, methane is about 21 times more potent than carbon dioxide by weight. So... kill a farting burping cow/pig etc... and drive your zed happy in the knowledge that you are carbon NEUTRAL , so to speak... Then ask Gordon Brown if he'll reduce the road tax...

We live in "information overload" society, NO ONE can say they don't know the consequences of their action... and it boils down to choices... you make a choice and you know the outcomes... If you want to gamble you have to accept you might loose...and if they did not want to loose, they should not have played high stakes, high losses...they lost.. I'm with Sarnie... lets not allow political correctness overrule the laws... -

If they are Nismo originals they should fit exactly the same as OEM's and also the OEM don't use any adhesive to hold them in place... I would not bother ... clip off-clip on...

Note my wife's micra number plate is an acrylic plastic base with a number plate sticker on top of it... that's what the dealer gave us!... so it looks like a normal plate...

Try this guide... http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Side_Skirt_Removal should be no problem... I think you need to have them painted off the car... easier to do and prevents having to "cook" the whole car....
