  3. Sadly, time has come that I need to sell the Zed due to the need for a 5 door car following arrival of my baby daughter in Dec 08 Car has just had 4 brand new Falken FK452 Tyres only 100 miles old and is not due service for 9,000 miles or Dec 09 (which ever comes first). discs and pads have been checked recently by a garage and are less than 50% worn. Here are the details;- 54 Reg 2004 Azure Blue GT Pack 26,750 miles Tax April 2009 MOT Dec 2009 3.5L (276 bhp) Full Black Leather Heated Electric Seats Cruise Control Multi Function Steering Wheel 18" Rays Alloys Brembo Brakes Power Steering Climate Control Bose Stereo - 6 Disc CD Brembo Brakes Price £12,250 o.v.n.o. Pm me if you are interested. Pics below
  4. Yes it should do shouldn't it I have been nosing round dealers but think I may have to go for the private sale and just pay for HPI and AA check - should work out the cheapest route. Ads
  5. After having stopped myself slitting my wrists earlier I've been on Autotrader and Pistonheads noting all the prices and mileage of 2004 GT pack Zeds on a private sale. One quick graph in excel later (sad I know ) shows the price for mine to compete against the others should be around £15,600. Will start there and see what the interest is - just got to do the advert now. Ads
  6. With a new addition to the family arriving in Dec, I've been doing a bit of test driving lately with the Golf R32 as my choice to move on to. I've been trying to pitch what to sell mine for and I knew the Car tax issues and petrol prices were not going to help but bl**dy hell, the prices have taken an absolute battering. There are 2004 zeds (Uk spec) going for under £14k ffs. I only bought mine last Nov and could easily see a £4-5k loss on the horizon. So if you were me (and not selling isn't an option), what would you price a 54 reg GT pack Zed for in Azure blue with 24k on the clock, good condition, minor alloy scuffs on 2 wheels, stone chipping to lower front bumper, average tyre tread, no mods. I wont tell you what Volkswagen offered me in p/x...... muppets Ads
  7. Been test driving all but the Rx8 (the missus just didn't like it) and was suprised by how good the golf was. It much better built, has lots more toys and has better grunt and acceleration. Only problem is the cost (little if any change out of the Zed, higher insurance and tax but the V6.... Focus was still fairly pokey but seemed a bit slower to get into its stride and you just did not feel as special inside. But.... I could pick one up about £4k cheaper than the R32 decisions, decisions ......... Ads
  8. thanks everyone for the congrats My missus for the 1st time is sticking her oar into the whoe decision as she'll need to drive it while she's off (our other car is a 3 door Clio 182). Anything too big and old is definately out of the question R32 is a good shout, got a friend at work with one and it sounds the business The current list is (in no order) 1 - focus ST 2 - Golf R32 3 - RX8 need to get some test drives booked !!
  9. Hadn't even thought of an RX8 due to percieved lack of boot space - will go and check one out Might even get a good deal as the prices have dropped loads Having come from a Ford background, i'm tempted towards a Focus ST with dreamscience map on it 265 bhp and 330nm torque Ads
  10. I've had some great news recently that I'm going to be a dad however the down side is that the Zed will need to go Now I've got till Dec to sort out a replacement but I need to give myself time to sell it and i guess it may be worse to try and sell as it comes to Winter. My dilemma now is what to buy I reckon I could get £17k for my Zed and the new car needs to a 5 door. (evo's and imprezza are out though as is anything that resembles a peope carrier ). its gotta be fast help me decide Ads
  11. That would be me then just been to Halfords to get some cleaning bits n bobs and was waiting for a call to pick the missus up from town. 1st time I've been spotted Ads
  12. I felt the same coming from an RS Focus - took a while to get used to the change is power delivery but its so easy to be doing 100mph in the Zed without noticing Ads
  13. Wash every 2 weeks and wax every month planning to clay, polish, seal etc... every 6 mths Ads
  14. I have the same problem too - used to crackle quite a bit but now seems to have given up completely. Not got round to sorting it yet, not sure if its the wiring, speaker or head unit thats the problem and yes, I have a Bose !! Ads
  15. The RS Owners club had something similar but was based on a users reputation. People could give 'green' if they had been helped out by someone and 'red' if they felt that person had been lets just say, not so helpful. There was a bar under the user name showing how much green or red that person had TBH, I forgot it was there most of the time Ads
  16. thanks for the replies guys. I feel it may become addictive although its always bloody raining at the moment Went out and bought a few accessories y'day, Megs wash mitt, Autoglym Aqua-dry chamois, Autoglym Hi-tec finishing cloth and soon polish applicator pads so its becoming to get more serious Need to compete with the guy next door, he cleans his M3 about 3 times a week Ads
  17. Ok, not too into the whole detailing bit so bear with me.... Really want to keep my Zed paint looking good and have got quite a lot of the autoglym range. I currently use the Super Resin Polish but noticed in Halfords that they now have Ultra deep shine - Would this be used as an alternative to the resin polish ?? Also, is it worth using the extra gloss protection after polishing thanks Ads
  18. Nova 1.3SR - looked the business in it's day
  19. I like the look of the Alpine 9881 model - any ideas for cost of the PAC, harnesses, fascia and fitting at a decent ICE dealer. anyone know of any decent ICE dealers nr Chester ? Ads
  20. I have a dodgy rear left speaker too ! Sometimes has a life of its own and starts crackling then goes quiet again Ads
  21. though it might be me at 1st as was getting dragged round kitchen stores by the missus but realised we were in here 182 clio. Ads
  22. Hi mate, yes down the road in Chester, only lived here 6 mths, nice place. I'll keep my eye out for you Ads
  23. can't afford to at the moment, buying the car and xmas has wiped me out Ads
  24. checked my tyres the other day, admittedly 1st time since buying it (3 weeks ago) and all tyres were running at 25 psi after getting over the fact i was stupid not to check them sooner, i pumped then up to 35psi all round - noticed the much firmer ride and the fact the CD skips more although hoping it may improve my cr4p MPG. anyways, just wondered if anyone runs any different pressures, particularly as its so damm wet and icy at the moment ?? I'm on std bridgestone tyres Ads
