Jacko - how would we find out for sure about the GT4 wheels becoming standard on the new model? I too have a GT4 and would be a little disappointed for the "Special Edition" to become a "not-so-special-anymore Edition" However, I spent 5 yrs in LA and saw plenty of 350z's there. Some of which had the GT4 wheels so I'm clinging onto the hope that they won't be standard over here. The nicest wheels I've seen are the later Standard 19" Nissan wheels that are 5 spoke like the GT4's but with the 350z style squares cut into the spokes. I've forgotten where I saw them, and their name though:blush:

It's not mine. Nor do I know the guy (pity 'cos I live in Notts too) but I saw this and thought I'd post it on the spotted section... When I see the yellow GT4 with Nismo (Sarnie's) I think it looks great, but I'm not convinced it works on the black? Any comments? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0096459251

Holy $hit. I've just come back from 5 years in LA - the beach cities - and I had a convertible which I never, ever locked. Nor did I put the roof up when shopping or anything. I became so lax in security that it's been tough to get used to having to be securicor again over here. That story is terrible. I'll renew my key remote batteries right away. Condolances to your mate.

Clutch Pedal disappearing when accelerating hard
jonathan73 replied to jonathan73's topic in 350Z Technical
No Liam. ESP was off. If it hadn't happened on the brand new fleet vehicles I test drove for a week I'd think it was my clutch but I'm lost as to an explanation. There's little point taking it to my stealer b'cos they've already proved themselves worthless. They are what chocolate fireguards deride when searching for a metaphor of uselessness! -
Guys It happened on the Test 350z I had (Nissan Fleet lent me a coupe and a roadster for a week test each prior to me buying mine) and it has happened on mine a few times..... If I try to pull away hard - really hard - then my clutch pedal disappears to the floor for a short while. Seriously. Anyone else had this? Can anyone explain why it happens? I came up to a long tail back this afternoon and wanted to spin round - literally - instead of doing a 3 point turn. Only for my clutch pedal to disappear. So I had to do a 3 pointer anyway, by which time traffic was approaching and I had to move away sharpish. It happened again. WHY?

Under that sort of threat I guess you did the right thing. I presume you didn't get the licence plate? But to get it you could have floored it, pulled a 180 ( and checked the licence plate on the rear. Then reported it.

Ming - which guy is a friend of yours? Am I missing something or did you forget to put his contact details in your post??

NW Drive Out - Spring 2007 - 15th April
jonathan73 replied to Digsy's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
I don't think hijacking this event at this stage would be popular... There's so many comitted with no strings attached that I reckon you'll risk ruining a good meet. At the pub in Wales, give guys the option of buying in to a raffle... -
Thanks guys.... Stevie040 - I'm sure it won't be economical (for me!!!!) for you to come to Notts. I've signed up with Detailing World and looking on there for local detailers..... Yet to see if it's gonna work out though. The Kuro has some swirls and surface scratches that just have to go!

Chesterfield - love your sig. I'm hoping to get some decent phots on the NW run - which looks to be a terrifically supported event and then creating a good one. Looking forward to meetin you guys and to learning from y'all. -
Danny... I have a "Sheffield Branch" that can most definitely help you 'encourage' the culprits to not doing anything like that again. If you're around the South Yorkshire area and would like to employ them let me know. Minimal info needed, they are good at using their initiative - been helpful for me in the past.

Thanks Nixy. I just registered on Detailing World and have PM'd a few guys that appear to be local.... Will wait and see. Sarnie - do you know where Stevie040 is located? Thanks guys.

I'm looking for a Pro Detailer too.... Around Nottinghamshire. I've had the usual valet guys go over mine but I need the swirls removing then the valet guys can manage it from them on. Polished Bliss (Aberdeen) seem to do awesome work. They're too far away and recommended Matt Wakefield in Cheshire (http://www.offyourmarks.co.uk) but still too far from me. Anyone know of a detailer in Nottinghamshire, or even the Midlands? yell.com doesn't have 'car detailer' as a category; just valeting which is not good enough. Help anyone?

I wouldn't give 22p for it, let alone £22k. Who on earth thought that was a good mod? The side skirts are perhaps bareable, but the rear spoiler doesn't suit, and the front is just...... the ugliest thing to see in your rear view mirror. I'm not a fan.

Bloody Hell! It's a bit big. I'll get on it in photoshop...

Testing to see if I've managed to cure my technophobia and posted a pic in my sig....

Lomoto - those seats are bitchin! They look fabulous.

Is anyone here moonlighting with contract work?
jonathan73 replied to TiN's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Read your post on 350z-uk and was interested b'cos our website (www.first4care.co.uk) needs some major re-working this year and we're looking for someone on a casual basis to help us out. I'm reasonably handy with design (photoshop) and whilst I can modify web pages (using macromedia contribute) I am clueless in actually developing a site. I wondered what your rates were and how you worked your moonlighting? As for contract work and being paid.... Save 22% of all your moonlighting money b'cos that's what you'll be taxed if you earn less that £39500. Anything more than this will be taxed at 40%. Basically, as a web developer you'll have very little costs and so all (apart from 'costs' such as software, hardware, training courses, travel expenses) of your moonlighting income will be profit - which good old Gordon wants his share of! You do need to register with the Revenue as self employed for your moonlighting work and you will be required to complete a self-assessment form annually in which you will detail ALL your income (employed work, pensions, car allowance, shares, rental income etc) and your self employed costs. I have no doubt you'll get away with it for a while - who'll know? BUT there is likely to be a day when the Revenue find out and when they do you'll owe back taxes and it'll break you - hence the need to put 22% into a savings account from Day 1. Any more advice, please contact Andy Cripps (01623 657111) at www.apc-accountants.co.uk. He's my accountant and he is AWESOME. I have a VERY tax efficient - and legal - income -

Perhaps but I wanted something in town b'cos I do enjoy a Stella..... or 2 I found Chester itself was pretty full up - apart from the Grosvenor which, having read some earlier posts, Sarnie may be interested in -

Hotels and B&Bs If you're looking for somewhere to stay, Hoole Rd has plenty of reasonably priced B&Bs BUT they seem to be filling up fast. Not sure if it's with 350z owners or blue rinse visitors to Chester but I've tried 6 B&Bs and a similiar number of hotels and struggled. Finally got in to Craigleith Guest House, 56 Hoole Rd (01244 327186). Double for £65, or £70, can't remember. Hoping to see more Zs on Hoole Road Saturday 14th and maybe grabbing a few beers & a curry! -
If the new bonnet fits my 2005 GT4 I'd put it on in a heartbeat. May be a problem with lights etc but I think the worst thing about the current model is the bonnet - it makes the car look like a cheapo Celica!

Nice looking ride & great photos! What rubber are you running on?
