Just giving a quick udate on this situation. All of it was eventually sorted , took a few trips to the dealers and about 7 days in total at the garage being fixed... can finally start to enjoy it now

Well finally managed to get them to notice the problem, they fitted a new gear knob. Sorted!

hopefully I'll get mine sorted when its in for its next service

same here m8 i get skipping and more skipping... just want the ipod connected only problem I see with the ice link FM is in the name... FM radio signal. granted it is directly to the arial however I'm still dubious of fm transmitters, I tried one that was meant to be the best (kensington £50 worth) and it sucked

but the actual usaspec adaptor may be wired differently.. but by all means check for the connector on the back of the headunit. Mine is a bose It would be ideal for ipod connection without having to change the headunit, speakers and amp...

I was just about to ask this question regarding ipod with bose damn it, doesnt sound like it would work using a usaspec ipod to uk bose...

it was doing it prior to them removing the gearbox, but yes your right they still should fix it i've had my z for 4 weeks now, so far its spent 1 week with them. apparently this used car i bought was nissan approved... lol like that has counted for anything i'm getting close to just getting rid of the blastid thing, its causing me too much stress

I've had the 6th gear crunching fixed however the dealer couldnt fix/couldnt fault my 350z on the following problem when car is accelerating the gearbox sounds like its on its last legs, ratlting and vibrating when it reaches about 4500 rpm and it continues on any above revs. I can adjust the rattle by moving the gear lever forward slightly can anyone help as this is driving me insane any ideas? the rattle completely spoils any acceleration through the gears right up to the red line

Mine does exactly this, I will let you know how I get on as nissan will be sending my gearbox off to a specialist for diagnosis, middle of next week.

phoned dealership and booked it in with a loan car lets hope they can sort it out... bluetooth adaptor arrived this morning, works a treat! highly recommended, super fast delivery from mr.f as well. thanks for your help so far guys much appreciated.

well gave it some welly tonight and it seems to have cured the rattling gear stick somewhat, hardly noticeable now and more in line with just feeling the vibrations rather than hearing them. think I've got gremlins in the electrics though... when I could eventually get the key to turn in the ignition slot... some reason it wouldnt budge, wipers started all by them self.. have i bought a vampire motor 350z car? cheers for the replies so far, and I don't moan all the time.... honest just trying to get it right as it should be

Will give them a ring in the morning and see if they will take a look. oh well lesson learnt for being a bit too eager

well massive as in really noticeable and sounds like its rattling quite violently - not good when taking someone out in the z to show them what its like....

dealer was shocking to be honest and the dealer isnt local either I guess my local one will take a look though? any thoughts on the massive vibrations through the gearstick when reving it?

anyway had the car a week now - its a 54 plate in azure blue with gt pack, and rays, and its done just over 15000 miles first week of ownership has been brilliant apart from a few niggles that I have been searching and reading about all day on here .. Anyway list of faults so far: Drivers window - when raising it all the way in one go using the second postion click, the window will go all the way to the top so it is fully closed, but then on its own accord will wind down to halfway open????? handbrake needs an almighty pull going through allmost all of the position clicks to get the car to stop rolling backwards.. known issue will get it looked at dealers Massive amounts of vibration/noise/rattle through gearstick when reving from 4k to 6.6k. the tone of the vibration/rattle can be changed by putting slight pressure on the gearstick... not sure if this is expected from the rather harsh drive train? Gearbox - synchromesh problems when going from 4th to 6th mainly but seems to occur more often when doing a quick change to 6th gear. known issue - will have to get it to the dealers for warrenty work on gearbox I bought this car from an "approved nissan dealership" which from my problems means jack @*!# in all honesty was meant to be valeted aswell but I've spent a few days at least getting it looking like it should have, but have now seen a few dings on rear bumper and light scratches all over paintwork - looks like its been through 4578437234 car washes.. rant over... Bought a luggage net and tonneua cover for it, didnt like having the boot on show and just ordered a bluetooth adaptor from mr.f
