  1. Yes i certainly have learned a lesson and i am extremely grateful to have been given good advice I did have a good laugh at myself for being such a numpty
  2. Well i am officially the 'idiot of the week'.............i've wasted several hours of my life bleeding Brembo brakes incorrectly Thanks you very, very much guys for your help, it is very much appreciated!!!! Dave.
  3. I'm now totally confused as i'm almost certain there is only one nipple on each rear caliper I shall look again and report back, many thanks for your help guys!! Dave.
  4. Can I ask how many bleed nipples you are bleeding and if are you bleeding using the traditional method ie: 2 men, bottle and hose or are you using specialised brake bleeding equipment.? Also did you allow the brake master cyl. reservoir to run dry? Alex Hi Alex, You most certainly can! Bleeding 6 nipples, 1 on each rear then inner and outer on the fronts. 2 men, bottle, clear hose and i may have quite possibly run the master cylinder to run dry at one point Dave.
  5. Just fitted a set of Brembo discs & calipers but i just can't seem to get the air out of them. I did forget to tighten one pipe when i went to speak to a customer so i pulled in a load of air I spent a couple of hours bleeding them this morning in the correct order of R/N/S , F/O/S, R/O/S then F/N/S but there still seems to be air in the system. I've checked every pipe for leaks, there are none and i've checked every fitting and they are all nice and tight. Would the ABS pump also need bleeding? I've changed brakes many, many times and never had this problem before Any advice gladly accepted!!! Dave.
  6. That's a little low, drive it down to me and i'll give you £5k for her Dave.

    BLEEDING BRAKES

I shall check again tomorrow, many thanks for your help If it is a brake line do you stock them? I also still need a bonnet release cable if you have them? Dave.

    BLEEDING BRAKES

Thanks Alex, i did think i may have cross threaded the drivers side brake line (at the point where it fits into the chassis holder) but i couldn't see any leaks and it seemed to go back together ok. After 3 hours of trying to bleed the brakes i did notice a tiny drop of fluid there, would this cause a huge ingress of air?

    BLEEDING BRAKES

I've just swapped my standard brakes to Brembos and i've tried bleeding them several times today They seem to firm up but i start the engine, press the brake pedal and it just sinks to the floor. I start the bleeding process all over again and although i thought i'd got all the air out when i try again it's just like doing it all again for the first time with loads of air coming out again......................what am i doing wrong Dave.
  10. I suppose my taste can be differ from some peoples, here's a few of my recent must have purchases
  11. I got married in the Dom Rep......................................didn't last though as i never really liked her
  12. To be honest i just fancied the stitching and logo in orange, i did ask Steve to cover the seats in black with grey inserts but he got the colours mixed up but i like them all the same I'm looking forwards to getting the car finished now as the brakes and suspension i'm changing have been a nightmare as i don't think they have ever been off since it was built I've just ordered an exhaust from Chris at Tarmac as the K1 exhaust is just too loud for my old ears, the only thing i'm not sure wether to change is my wheels. It's currently got a set of staggered Luftdrag 18" black alloys but i bought a set of 19" Team Dynamics (staggered silver / chrome lip) wheels last year that i thought would look better...............i'm not sure now though! The car is pearl white with a black roof so i suppose either would suit
  13. I shall get some up very soon! Just fitting my Brembos, Ohlins, new wheels & exhaust then i'll add some pics Dave.
  14. They look great fitted, i'm really pleased with them
  15. Speaking as an 'evil car dealer' myself i'd advise you to do the following...... 1/ Go back to the dealership and ask to speak to the workshop manager, introduce yourself and ask him for his full name. 2/ Ask him to personally check the discs and if he warrants them 'fit for purpose' would he be kind enough to put it in writing and sign the bottom of the statement. Do this extremely politely yet firmly, if he's happy with the above then i'd say the discs are fine. Discs & pads are not expensive and we personally always change them if they are looking thin. Then when a customer tries to haggle over the price we'll offer to replace the old brakes and then discount..........it's an easy way to haggle then as everyone likes new brakes Most car dealers are decent especially a large dealership, they'll have a mark up of around £1500 in your car so don't be afraid to ask for something that possibly should have been done. Dave.
  16. Guys, before you buy another gearbox try flushing the box oil and refill with Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof gear oil. I've used this many times especially on R32 GTR and also R34 GTR boxes. It's a little stiff from cold but really does the job and is far cheaper and easier than changing the box Dave.
  17. I'm not breaking the car i'm sorry just swapping the brakes & suspension to my own car Dave.
  18. I had a 4 hour drive home and to be honest the Ohlins are pretty acceptable even on the crappy Welsh roads in my area. Some of the set ups i've had on previous cars were quite nasty, i've had Kei Office on an RX7 that were insane and GAB on an R32 GTR that were even worse I didn't realise they were Ohlins until i got back as i didn't want to make a fuss in case the price increased with my excitement! I've had a few sets of Ohlins on RX7's i previously owned and did price them up for my Z but at over £2000 a set i decided not to bother............i'm looking forwards to fitting them now Dave.
  19. Had a call from a friend in the motor trade with a bargain price 350z so off i go to collect. I've been looking for some Brembos and suspension for mine for a while but the only ones i've found were a bit expensive. Imagine my joy to find that my little gem not only had Brembo's but also a set of fully adjustable Ohlins coilovers Off they come and onto my car!!!
  20. I like them!! They can't be that hard to make? I've got friends in Germany who buy Skylines from me and do a similar conversion for the TUV test also the design is of a much less fancy one.........i wouldn't mind a go at this
  21. I've been lucky enough to own some great cars, it can be fun running a car business when it's going well I owned the yellow 996 a couple of times, i had to sell it originally to clear a VAT demand then i took it back as a part ex against my 996 Turbo..........now that was a fantastic bit of kit!! I then sold it to fund an R34 GTR, i also loved that.......for a while anyway You are always welcome to pop in, kettles always on!!
  22. For £600 you'll get both seats re-done in leather no probs!! Why buy used / worn when you can have new
  23. I think he spent around £45k on it, i know it was a serious amount of money It was pretty quick but also a lovely car to drive, did you ever hear it with the Ferrari pipes fitted? They were so loud i only drove around 5 miles then took them off
  24. It is yeah, he's done quite a bit for me & friends in the past I wasn't that impressed by AutoWorx when I got a quote off them for my Z but they did a great job on another members Z. I might take you up on that offer next week some time I'm only down the road in Caerphilly so not too far away. I see you also sold my mates old NSX That was also painted by Auto Image/Auto Body I've had 3 Honda NSX but i presume you mean the supercharged NSX i bought from Ary That was by far one of the nicest cars i've ever owned and was made perfect by Ary in every way!! I did catch the LHS extended air scoop on a Focus smashing off the end piece but the guys at Albion repaired it to a brand new standard for around £100, pretty good when a new one was £600 Pop in anytime, the kettle is always on!! Dave.
