Nissan paint is decidedly average at best. Interior materials are a bit cheap and plasticky. The seats are too small, but thats my fault

First tip, throw parkers guide away or you will never buy anything. There is a very good reason why it sits on the shelf next to the comics. If they say they can get 04 plate GTs for £16.5k call them and ask them how many they have... Second tip, look at plenty and if you don't know what you are looking at take someone who does. £17k is a good chunk of money and there are many unscrupulous people out there who are more than happy to relieve you of it. If you buy privately in this country the law is on the side of the vendor, not the buyer, you are on your own. You're far safer buying from a well established REPUTABLE dealer, not a back street fly by night or a cowboy trader working from home. Of course he will make a profit, we all want to be paid for what we do, but if he has any sense and values his reputation he will have weeded out all the crap for you and will only stock nice cars so you won't buy a lemon. I've looked at several 350z's over the past couple of months and bought none. All had accident repairs of varying degrees including an 05 plate Red Roadster with 11k on the clock which had everything re-painted bar the windscreen surround. The car was HPI clear ! Be careful out there

Me neither and it says a lot that the Touareg ( same car ) with the 2.5 TDi engine is very hard to buy and always makes £1500 or more over book. Cayenne=bad news, Touareg=very good news !

A lot of Dukes, most in fact, have noisy clutches. I think they run a "dry clutch" whereas Jap bikes run wet clutches, which I think means they run in Oil but I'm not that technical ! A lot of new bikes have these slipper clutches but that doesn't make them noisy, it just prevents the wheel locking on clumsy downshifts.

This is inevitable, Porsche are "branching out" and it will be a bargain second hand beause it will depreciate like hell. I saw a Cayenna 4.5S go through Auction last week almost £4,000 behind book, nobody wanted it. Cheap car, but would you ?
-
I've had a few Dukes and I love the noise they make. I've always had noisy cans fitted, either Termis or Art ( Arts are noisier, but upset the "purists" ). I loved setting off early on Sunday mornings and seeing the curtains twitching. And then I would accelerate past a line of parked cars and look in the mirror to see all the lights flashing because the alarms had gone off - pure hooligan Thanks to this "summer" weather I still haven't bought a bike this year but I am starting to get withdrawl symptoms and I'm yearning for another Duke...

I knew on the way in what the car would drive like, pretty much, so I voted for the exhaust noise which was a nice surprise and I enjoyed it very much. I would turn the stereo off and drop the windows whenever I saw a bridge or tunnel approaching

Give over, this thing has the 6.0 litre W12 Twin Turbo, 550 bhp and four wheel drive, it must go like the clappers ! In the Coupe it's a 200 mph car. Hmmm, 200 mph in a rag top with the roof down, interesting...

We had problems at our last house with the neighbours teenage sons playing football and regularly bouncing it off my cars. It was doubly frustrating because we lived directly across from a large playing area - seriously, directly across the road. There was absolutely no need for them to be playing on the road when there was a big field right there. I had quiet word after quiet word to no avail. Plenty of "come on lads, keep away from the cars please " but it all fell on deaf ears. One Sunday morning I saw the ball drop out of the sky right onto my roof and I went berserk. I just cracked. I stormed out the door and their father, their braindead, halfwit, numpty, slaphead father, was playing with them and it looked an awful lot like he had kicked the ball ! I couldn't beleive my eyes and let rip with quite an abusive tirade of verbal right in his mush to the effect of grow a bloody brain and walk the ten feet across the road to the fumin field instead of using my chuffing car as goalposts or I'll buy the heaviest football I can find and spend my days whacking the crap out of your car with it, that sound fair enough ? I must admit it felt fantastic to get it all off my chest, and by some miracle I never saw them play near my car again Some people don't get a "quiet word" and need to be told in no uncertain terms. Either that, or go play near their car and see what happens.

Excellent program, I really enjoyed it. I honestly think they didn't know what they were getting themselves into. Amazing vehicle though to make it across that terrain. Same goes for Heroes, but then I'll watch anything with Ali Larter in it

Entirely too much information PMSL

Sorry, I was trying to be funny Ok, no more mention of having my heart ripped clean out of my chest, thrown on the floor and stamped on ! Especially now I know there is a fair chance you could kick my head in and you can run faster than me

I've mentioned before my next door but one neighbour had a Bentley Continental GT. Last night I arrived home and he was standing on his driveway admiring his latest aquisition...the same car but a Convertible, brand spanking new. I went over and asked him had he won the lottery The guy is very sound and down to earth, he owns a chain of carpet shops and just loves his Bentleys so treated himself. I was going to get a photo tonight but he set off for Spain in the car this morning and won't be back for ten days. Hell of a first outing and at least he will be able to get the roof down over there ! Gorgeous car, in metallic blue and they presented him with a framed picture, hand drawn, of his car complete down to the correct registration number. I want one !!!

Yeah, the girlfriend said that too Maybe she left because she just needed a rest

That level of cardio, up and down hills, would have me in A+E right now I've done it in the past but I would need to work up to that. I've focused on power for nearly 2 years, at the expense of everything else. My cardio consisted of 1 or 2 laps of the lake in front of my house, which is 1.3 miles, and totally flat and I'm not exactly fast either. I don't take a stop watch, I take a calendar I'm 5'11 too. Weight 20 stone 4 pounds. Chest is 56 inches. Biceps just a whisker over 20 inches - I do a 77.5kg strict Arm curl with no swinging or movement of the elbows. Waist is 37 inches. I make a 170kg RAW Bench, 260kg Squat all the way down, not stopping at parallel and 115kg strict Military Press. All my lifts are unequipped, most feds allow equipment, Squat Suits, Bench Shirts etc so when comparing lifts remember I lift in shorts and T shirt, nothing else, I don't even wear a belt or straps, it's just me lifting. For example, I would make a 200kg bench with a shirt on... I stick to 5 sets of 5 and work as heavy as I can. Once I make a weight I increase it by 2.5 kgs next session. Close to comps I drop to triples and big singles. Diet is surprisingly healthy, I don't eat half as much as the really big lads but make sure I get plenty of Protein, Chicken, Fish, Fruit and Whey in Skimmed Milk. We get drugs tested too, but there are ways and means using fast acting esters which are out of your system in plenty of time for the test. Having said that I was never at that level so never meddled with the proper stuff but I know plenty about it from being with lots of people who did. I do push ups with my Son and Daughter sat on my back, or my girlfriend if she is around ! I usually make 25 to 30 before my pecs and triceps seize up. Thats the problem with low rep work, power is there, but not endurance. You just pump up and cant move. I struggle to shower after a workout, my pecs, delts and biceps crash into each other and I haven't touched my own back in ages

Your a cage fighter, MMA ? Cool. I would love to get into that. I was into Ju Jitsu in the past, did 8 years of it and really loved it but I lost a lot of mobility with the weight lifting. I was a bit of a tearaway in my younger days and loved to fight. My Dad was a professional boxer and when he retired did bare knuckle street fighting well into his fifties, he was very well known locally. My Grandad owned a pub and hard men would visit from other pubs and they would all bet on the outcome. Those were the days ! As a youth I wanted to live up to my Dads reputation, you know how it is. But I mellowed with age, started a business and calmed down a lot. I'm very placid these days, would rather have a laugh with someone. I was always into Bodybuilding from my teens onward, my Dad was a huge man and I wanted to be as big as him ! As it happens I am adopted so I was never going to be his size without his genes. As I got older it got harder to maintain low bodyfat so I shifted into Powerlifting about 2 years ago. I'm still not fat, my abs aren't far off and compared to most Powerlifters my weight ( and age 39 ) I am very slim and very mobile but I would get eaten in a cage fight. Too slow, not enough endurance despite running 2.6 miles 3 nights a week and my upper body would just pump up and seize solid unless it was over very quickly. In the street it's not a problem, but against trained fighters, thats very different Last Christmas I worked up to 6.5 miles, 3 nights a week but then hit the weights hard for competition. It's very difficult to build muscle and maintain a high level of cardio fitness at the same time. Most big Powerlifters do power walking for cardio and don't run at all. Too much cardio burns muscle so you have to cut back if you want to grow. It seems you can have power or fitness, but not both at the same time unless you compromise on the power. I guess I should have check ups but I never have. I keep an eye on my resting heart rate, I think thats a good indicator and I listen to what my body tells me. I've always been quite fit and healthy, never had any health problems and I put that down to lots of exercise and sensible eating. I don't drink often either. I'm just at the point where my body is telling me enough is enough. I've pushed it harder and heavier for several months and it's time to ease off before something gives. This is normal, you have to take heavy and light cycles to give your body time to recover. I've stepped up the cardio this week to slim down a little - I'm in Tenerife at the end of August and don't want to catch a harpoon in the ass when someone mistakes me for a Whale Big respect to you for the cage fighting, thats an awesome sport, a real mans sport, nowhere to hide if your off the pace or out of condition. I still keep in touch with my mates from Ju Jitsu. I just started my 8 year old Boy doing it and just might go back to it myself...

LOL The downside is my car is always slower than everyone elses, because it's got to drag my heavy ass about

PMSL, it brings a whole new dimension to trusting someone as far as you can throw them
-
I've a 280kg Deadlift, thats 44 stone or 22 stone in each hand, bring a friend and I'll hurl you both
-
Thanks mate, I'll take it nice and steady, give her space like you say. I won't mess with her head, I love her enough to support her in her decision, she has to come first just now and I'll be fine in time. Don't worry about her ex needing a slap. He must be a decent bloke or she wouldn't be with him. She is a very good judge of character and I trust her. If anyone did need a slap I did Ju Jitsu for 8 years, worked the doors for 8 years and now Powerlift competitively. He lifts weights but is about 14 stone wet through so I could put the guy in orbit if I really felt that way about it. I don't of course, I have no bad feeling toward the guy and me getting violent would only upset her. I would accept that physical violence is sometimes appropriate, but this isn't one of those times. Thanks for the support.

Can't do it pal, I'm too much of a softy and her friendship is too important to me. We made each other laugh out loud and we helped each other through some bad times when we were together. There is a good friendship there if we can just get passed the past I tried to shut her out over the weekend and it hurt like hell. I feel so much better now we're talking again. It's bad enough losing her love, but at least this way I've still got my pal.

PMSL, why do they still fit Tape players to cars ! I haven't had a tape - that still played - for years. Madness.
-
Definitely the members, there is a great bunch of people on here from all walks of life and it's great to mix with them. I've been on Uk Supras for about ten years, I was one of the first members and seen lots of people come and go but even now that Supras are "old hat" and the group is dying down there is a core group of maybe a dozen members and we are like best friends, we talk about everything and help each other through life's trials and tribulations. I'm on a couple of powerlifting/bodybuilding forums and there are lots of wierdos on there but plenty of good blokes too ! I really could do with getting on one of these dating forums that Nixy mentioned - LOL
-
Aw, you guys PMSL, feel the love ! I've started something here. Maybe we should have a lonely hearts corner
-
PMSL Thanks Nixy, I've honestly stopped trying to get her back, I really have. She told me straight last night her feelings are not the same, everything is different and she can't be with me anymore. She tried to let me down gently, which gave me the impression I could get her back. Last night she told me straight that her feelings have changed and she won't be coming back even if things don't work out with her ex. I needed to hear that, so I can let her go and move on. It hurts, but somehow I feel much better. We'll see what happens with the friends thing, I won't chase her, I'll see if she contacts me. Don't worry, I'll take the hint if she isn't keen to stay in touch
