  3. £300!!!!!!!!! :scare:

Wasnt it just the sidelights or the full xenons?

Doesnt cost that much when Uncle phil looks after you ;)

I should hope so the full ballast set with 2 xenns where going for less than that on fleebay. although used.

  4. It depends what u want. If you want raw power & speed & sublime handling then a IX Fq360 or JDM IX GT modded is unbeatable. (though Scooby RA & RA-R /tuned owners may have something to say about that! 0 to 60mph in approx 4.0 sec)

But if you want better build quality/materials/ safer, stronger shell (better crash tested & has side impact bars & side airbags & a lot less occupant trauma stats in crash/ cheaper to run / & a bit more comfort but sacrifice some performance you cant go too far wrong with an Impreza. Each has their merits & short commings.

I drove the FQ360 & though immensley powerful I felt it was too track/power focused. If I wanted just that I would rather go for an Exige/M3 CSL/Caterham/Noble etc etc.

But something less extreme, but still imensley powerful & a daily drive, then the Subaru ticks those boxes for me.

ps: Just had lengthy discussion with Ian Lictchfield, from, the- Litchfield Imports & it seems the JDM Spec C is the ideal car for my purposes. Most probably will get a Litchfield sourced one as most reputable co for Subarus/come with 6 months (extendable) warranty & are linked (next door ) to Powerstation (the dogs danglies in Subaru tuning!) who do all their mapping/tunning.

Powerstation also do some trick suspension which was honed at the Nurburgring. They even won the Time attack with there scooby.

The points you mention are also the reason why i opted for the STi and not the EVO, servicing schedules where much better too.

    Litchfields know there stuff.

We where on track with an FQ360 and it wasnt exactly fast. I kept up with him for a few laps. Just shows that its the driver that counts.

  5. P.s i wouldent have a Scooby, people who say theres not much in it havent driven both. Evo's pwn Scooby's

They are similar, although handle very differently. Ive driven classic shape turbo, driven the TME and owned an Sti 8...

Your obviously someone who has taken sides, i wouldnt mind either of them.

  6. SInbad, I take it you have HONDATA? Thats what I had on my CTR and it what I would like for the Z.

If not, I guess I wont bother!!

    Matt

Yes mate, for my Dc5. IM guessing the UTECH is along the similar lines. I dont know if its supported as well as the HONDATA though.

  7. Not bad, 3rd pos for Spec C, considereing Type RA-R is £10k more & NSX is in a different league. Thats with Jap restricted tuning 320bhp

After a simple stage1 tuning at Powerstation (Exhaust/filter/Ecutek remap),360bhp plus is easily & safely attainable & is pretty much the norm for these cars

    B)

Nice, i wouldnt get the RA-R its even more hardcore than the spec c. Type 25 is meant to be a supercar eater.

someone i know is selling his car here: http://www.performance-centre-manchester.co.uk/stocklist.php

Its the white spec c type RA model. Heres what he said:

2005/55 White Spec C Type RA one of only 350 made with 8000 miles and FSH, usual Spec C JDM refinements include twinscroll turbo, equal length manifold, engine and oil coolers, electric windows and mirrors, climate control, DCCD,tyre size up from 225 to 235,STI front lip spoiler, leather interior with Spec C Type RA logo, STI tunned suspension STI wishbones STI droplinks STI strut braces. The car also features upgraded 18" Type RA alloys to house 6 pot AP Racing calipers at the front with 362mm disc's and 4 pot AP's with 330mm disc's at the rear. Perrin induction kit RCM turbo back exhaust system with ecutek remap kicking out 360bhp/370ltb.

it has more constant torque levels, bigger brakes and more comfier seats than the RA-R. He's actually selling it for a MUGEN RR B)

I had a black STI 8 with prodrive alloys, prodrive suspension with upgraded discs and pads running approx 330-340bhp.

If you can live with the image then you'll be blown away by the performance especially when you do some slight breathing mods. the 4WD and diffs are really wierd to drive at first but once you get used to it you can get some good 4wheel drifts going and find that its nearly as easy to get the back end out as it is in the Zed. :D

Solid cars as well as i found out :teeth:
