  1. ok, that makes sense. But that surface melting stuff sounds quite extreme, no? How many meters do you have to aquaplane to have that
  2. maybe in aviation the speeds are a bit higher than when talking about cars?
  3. So why do people tend to recommend smaller tyres in wet conditions then? What you are saying is that driving a Porsche with 315 width rear tyres over a puddle of water will do the same as driving that car with a 185 width rear tyre? And if width doesn't matter, why do motorcycles have nearly no risk of aquaplaning except for in very extreme circumstances?
  4. errr. What is this gibberish? It doesn't even take into account the tyre width nor the thread.
  5. Ok, Top Gear series has ended so I amused myself by downloading this season's Fifth Gear episodes. (Mind you I am from "the other side of the water", so we don't have that show on tv here ) My god, except for the fact that they don't hate motorcycles like JC, what is this stuff ? VBH constantly screaming and giggling like a 14-year old .... The only person in that show worth watching is Tiff Needell. I really get the impression they are trying to imitate Top Gear but they just can't cut it (in doing crazy stuff with cars). I mean, maybe the ideas are not so bad but they lack a bit in punch and creativity (like that episode where they try running a car without oil. Couldn't they think of anything more original to do than just drive around in rounds until the thing seized? Now wahaa, what a surprise, the engine broke without oil, behold!). Anyhow, I want Top Gear back (at least until the MotoGP/WSBK season starts )
  6. Never heard anyone on here complain about the fact that his/her car is a JDM. Just don't get one with Satnav, unless you plan driving to Japan

    350Z Number 1

+1 ...and my beer Belgian And my food Indian ... and the women ..... ?
  8. thats because it is a good picture, the lighting makes the bonnet really blend in with the side panels near the windows. The rest of the pics show what horrid car it really is
  9. 1) 7 years ago, that $20k corresponded to £15K. 2) they don't have VAT, they have state tax in (some/most)states, which is never added to the price you see, but only added when the invoice is made (which adds another 8-15% to the price)
  10. With wages as low as they are it doesnt make a difference when you live here. However, a nice 3 bed flat on river valley rd in singapore will cost you around 650,000 (and thats in British Pounds) Salaries in Singapore aren't that low you know
  11. You want 280+ horses on the rear wheels, this is what you get. Can't cope with it? Get a Golf Be glad you still have all those electronics to help you out Winter tyres are a good idea dough. And aquaplaning can happen from about 70km/h, also at constant speed.
  12. those are the ones i meant
  13. What were those nismo-look-alike ones again they only make in 18? Has been discussed a couple of days ago on the forum ....
  14. black. I got it from ebay, the link of the ebay store was somewhere here on the forum. I m sure Sarnie can find it
  15. It looks like it eats alfas for breakfast
  16. But a Sagaris looks more evil (which is, a good thing )
  17. it s not about size Its about brands. For instance for me, I will never be able to buy a Shoei or Dainese helmet, they simply dont fit. Arai and Shark are no problem... And you are better of with a cheap helmet with perfect fit, than an expensive one with less than perfect fit. I would say give your Z a spin and visit his shop
  18. Dude, never buy a helmet without trying it on There are lots of differences between helmets, even in the same brand! (e.g. an arai Condor fits perfectly for me, but an RX7 doesn't fit at all!)
