  1. Personally, I didnt bother with paintshielding or anything. For the price that costs you can have a couple of bumper resprays, if you really want to, after a couple of years. Cars are supposed to be used, there will be tear and wear. Nothing you can do about that
  2. When comparing to the price of Michelin Pilot Sports, those seem to be about 40% more expensive than the Toyo's, hence my price statement. Ofcourse 18" tyres are never gonna come "cheap", if you want decent performance.
  3. As I said, depends on the tyre type. If you put on some nice grippy front tyres, combined with half-used shitty Bridgestone Potenza RE040 standard rear-tyres, and you do some spirited driving you will have your tail out more than you want to (no, not THAT tail Sarnie ). Then again, the Toyo's arent that expensive (imho), and for your piece of mind if you have doubts about it i would just go and get 4 new ones. Or get the fronts done first, find some abandonned parking lot and have some drifting fun, and get the back ones replaced shortly after. Better put the rubber that's left on the backs to some good use

  5. I fail to see what these things have to do with eachother.
  6. And for all the time spent discussing, and the price of the parts .... why not just get the original one, and be hassle-free
  7. As long as the sizes are the same the main issue is difference in grip levels which could make your car more over- or understeering. Same goes for changing front tyres only when back ones are quite worn too, even when staying with the same type of tyre If the wear on your rear tyres is of such a level that they will need changing within the next 3 months i would just choose the brand/type you want on the front and in due time change the backs to the same.
  8. Car sales are always slower by the end of the year, one of the reasons being that if they buy it now it will only be a 2006 car for another 6 weeks, and when talking second hand, within 6 weeks the 2nd hand cars all become "one year older" which should decrease their price.
  9. How do you get to these numbers? Is there some scientific way in proving it supports 405BHP, but not 420? Or is it more of a trial-and-error approach genre "we have X cars which have been driven for Y miles without issues, so this should be safe" ?
  10. LOL you guys must be earning more money than overhere in Belgium. My local Nissan dealership charges approx £21 / hour
  11. Just out of curiousity, how much do Nissan dealers in the UK charge per hour?
  12. http://www.prikstok.nl/index.php?go=ite ... temid=2211 Oops
  13. Oh, and even if EU law states this, you will be the one that has to prove that the car has been serviced correctly when you want to claim warranty, and i dont see how you will be able to do that.
  14. Imho Nissan only gives you warranty if it has been serviced by an authorized Nissan garage.
  15. Anyway, off topic, and I agree it will look better on the car back to superchargers now ...
  16. As i said, the total frictional force remains the same as long as you dont change the compound and the weight of the car .
  17. There are some reasons for putting wider tyres on a car, one of the reasons being heat dissipation, and the fact that a wider tyre is better to make low-profile than a small tyre for cornering. If you consider the grip of a tyre, or its friction to the road, friction is dependant on the weight of the car and the contact surface with the road, and the compound of the tyre ofcourse. Changing the size of the contact patch will just redistribute the weight per unit of your car, and the total amount of friction will not change.
  18. Wider? You wont get more traction with wider tyres in straight line acceleration
  19. Why would 19" wheels give you better traction?
  20. Mine's a 2006 model and they're black on silver! Call me mister stupid, I just checked yesterday, my front badge is black on silver too
  21. I completely agree. I ve seen similar things happen plenty of times with people noticing improvements when there weren't any (this was with motorcycles dough, stupid example: the suspension setup guy changes the suspension settings by turning some screw 4 clicks to the left, and then 4 clicks to the right again, so nothing was basically changed, but the rider didnt see this, he only knew his suspension was 'tuned'. Out on the track and when coming back: 'wow what a difference, the bike feels much more stable' .... )
