  1. Completely agree on this one. It costs less than most mods (except for the 350z-uk sticker mod ), and its a "mod" you can carry with you to other cars. And its heaps of fun (e.g. just check out Sarnie's story of the top gear track day)
  2. As you can see on the pics of my car, i have spacers fitted on my Rays. It basically offsets the wheels more to the outside of the car, you have them in different thickness according to what you want. Disadvantage is that by doing this you actually increase the "lever" between the wheel road contact surface and the mounting hub, thereby increasing wear on the wheel bearings. I ll see how long these last, but i havent heard from any people having problems with it dough
  3. Wish I knew I'm lost. What was the image that was removed here for starters. It was an image which stated : Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics... Even if you win, you're still retarded. With some visuals Seeing the reaction of the mods over here, maybe try posting it in the thread on the OC forum to check the reactions?
  4. nobody really likes spacers I do (dont worry, that silly antenna has been replaced long time now )
  5. There's a distinct change in tone after Baptist registered and started posting!! Yup, noticed that! in what way? The comments about not generally liking Zeds, about the tacky interior and other little comments evaporate from Baptist's first post onwards. Indeed, and i guess they didnt even see the interior of a 2006 Z yet prolly .... But alas, it is true, we cannot all have wooden inlay in our interiors as they do
  6. isnt that A LOT? From what quantity do they consider the consumption to be "excessive" ?
  7. add 1, it is crap. You can only use it when driving slowly, and even then you wont have any privacy as basically everybody around you can hear what the guy on the other end of the line is saying as the speaker can be heard quite well on the outside of the car
  8. Also consider why the AMD one takes much longer. Maybe they do rolling road tests? I d rather put my money at a tuner where they do a dynorun before and after so you can at least see if everything is ok.
  9. Moderator Note - Image removed
  10. And how many of those 530 have you already used And for how long?
  11. and the US (ugly) style one for that matter
  12. Yeah also saw that. Its the type they slam on with a hammer, no?
  13. to accurately meausre crank hp you'd need an engine dyno, not a common dyno that you've used. Crank hp is always calculated and is just connected to too many variables/settings on normal dynos to be reliable. Hence all that should be quoted is whp, and again hope that the dyno settings are correct in the first place. its calculated by measuring transmission losses on the dyno, its not as if they just apply some magical formula to it. If other cars using that same dyno get to their given hp (e.g. the TDI engines from the VW group) and others dont (e.g. the Z, or the RX-8 which apparently is a complete disaster on that level, or the S2000) there are some conclusions to be drawn But i agree, the most accurate method is by using an engine dyno.
  14. Welcome. A whole new world, called "comfort" will go open for you coming from the VX Stunning motor dough, both the Z and the VX
  15. What kind of Z is that? a Mazda 350Z? Btw when posting tyre reviews, please add the model of the tyre. Its no use saying "i had pirelli's and they sucked, then i got michelins and they rule", if the pirelli's are P6000 and the Michelin is Pilot Sport 2.
  16. Ask that question to ppl who are scared of mice
  17. Binning it is the easy part, but then it comes: you want to keep your steering wheel controls -> problem you want to keep your phone adaptor integration -> problem you want the gps voice to keep working -> problem
  18. In Europe they are standard equipment too from 2006 on. If you want i can contact the Nissan dealer where i bought my car, coz they swapped the GT4 alloys (like sarnie has) for a set of Rays, so I presume they still have them around.
  19. Respect! At least someone who actually uses this car. Aldough i must say that the paint chipping on the car was a bit of a I mean, come on, even a 350Z doesnt chip that bad
  20. On my previous car i did 75000 miles in 4 years and sold it, and never replaced the wiper blades
  21. But i guess weather conditions wont be all that the 5th, and putting all that power down in the wet ... dunno
  22. btw, 280hp on paper for the Z means 260 real engine hp (nearly all N/A engines are overrated on paper, except for Porsche and i guess some other "high-end" brands). My 300hp Z gave 275 real hp (and thats not wheel hp, but crank hp) when put on a dyno. The other Z's they tested (2003-2005) gave around 260 hp. I had my car to 260 km/h on the speedo once (and not very long ). That should be the equivalent of 162mph on your speedo, and i guess i was like 1-2km/h short of hitting the limiter. Dunno with a 2003-2005 model, but with my 2006 car i can get to 156mph in 5th gear just at the beginning of the redline (7k rpm)
