Multiple fixed position cameras. All cars driven quickly one after the other to try and maintain conditions. Honest review of M3. Surprising as he owns it. "Cheats the laws of physics". 0-60-100 with two people in the car. Overall it's the first group test I seen of any cars that genuinely puts them against each other. I want one.

Do you think it’s genuinely for something or left over from previous owner? I once had neons on a previous car which eventually broke. I had them setup to be triggered by the interior light and also had a switch so as to have them on permanently if required. When I sold the car I’d removed the broken neons but left the switch. No particular reason why. Anyway I saw the dealers ad for the car a week later and he claimed it was a fuel cut off switch.

I reckon Subaru decided it was pointless battling with one car. i.e. the Evo. It was getting to the stage where the car had to be revised every couple of years and for the evo it had to be service every 1500km or something. Now Subaru can target the hot hatch market which has been growing at a huge rate. Not into them myself but then if I had to choose it would of been the Evo.

Have you seen the new Impreza? There's one that's been parking just up the road from me. I keep thinking it looks Korean or Malaysian. Like a really cheap hatch.

If you're going to drive fast on a track then all 3 had crap tyres. Maybe they were just wasting time by throwing on the M3 and very little of the GTR. The whole thing seems more like a promo for the mag. I'll pass.

Agreed, however, why bother with this test then as its not a fair test! And it seemed little or no time was given to the GTR. They maybe saving it for the mag but I see little point in that as the mag cant reflect the sound, power and drive of a car. Apparently 5th Gear will be reviewing the car on the 25th of Feb. Should be good so long as it's Tiff or even better Plato driving it as opposed to the troll.

In a word yes. Most cars that are bought from the UK are of a higher spec then here so including the tax that has to be paid on import it works out cheaper. The down side to the tax here is that I'll probably never own a GTR. You guys are expecting prices to around £55k to £60k (€79k). I'm expecting it to be in the region of €110k to €120k for the base model if it ever goes on sale here. To top it off our VRT is going up in July and will be based on emissions rather then spec. So for a Z it'll be 36% instead of 30%. Also our road tax will be emission based. That means a Z bought registered after July will be €2000 a year. Mine will remain on €1500 for the life of the car. They claim it’ll be good for the environment. Bullshit. We don’t have Porsche fighting our corner. Bikes are the same. Better model for same price. Commercial vehicles are taxed differently and are also cheaper in the UK if you find the right one.
