  1. And not forgetting the really cool emoticons (smilies)
  2. My car only hit 3rd twice this morning on the way to work. Most of the time I was in 1st. On a really bad day like today my fuel consumption can make most SUV's look economical. On the plus side I only have to travel 5 miles.
  3. I'm sure they will get dirty very quickly but I would be looking for a better shield arrangement to channel the air so they’ll probably end up being covered. On a slightly similar subject the MY07 has a remarkably well sealed engine bay. I had her 7 months now and you wouldn't know it looking under the hood. Will get a pic later.
  4. Looks like humour is taking a hit today.
  5. Yea, they didn't last long at all. Little strange. Never do doughnuts or burn outs and in the previous Z they had plenty of thread when I traded her in after a year. Just the rears will set me back close to €500 alone. CC’s paid 100% a month. I don’t do debt except for mortgage. See how much I have after Geneva and what price’s Phil comes up with. Not too expensive online for the intakes at the moment.
  6. To wet my appetite even more: New rear tyres or Nismo intakes and exhaust.
  7. First heard of this late yesterday afternoon but it took a long time for confirmation. It didn't take long for someone to update Wiki though. Hated the people on the show but couldn't help watching. A Legend.
  8. That's one of the best details I've ever seen.
  9. There may be some truth to it but I do think the Spanish press exaggerate a lot. It's widely known that Martin Whitmarsh has been groomed, so to speak, to take over from Ron but that was under Ron's supervision and guidance. It was a rough year for McLaren and Ron off the track so maybe he’s decided to step back early to a less demanding roll.
  10. How long have you been away???? Long enough to of missed about 11000 of your posts. About 2 weeks then? Give or take yea.

  12. On my first Z the antenna was stuck on the window with a wire sticking out where that plug is. I got them to stuff the wire back in out of the way. I'm only guessing but I'd say the mic and antenna should be connected to that plug in some way. Closer inspection will sort out the problem. If something is missing the dealer will supply it as the pre-wiring is part of the car and not an option.
  13. It's the same problem as I had in my 07. Phone kit is an option in Ireland so it's pre-wired with mic, antenna and steering controls but missing the necessary control box under the glove box and the cradle. Both parts come as a package using the part number KE283-CDU01 Cost £150 ex VAT. You'll then need to buy the Bluetooth adaptor and you're done. I note one problem here. It looks as if there was a kit in your car and it might of been removed. That plug hanging from the roof above the windscreen should be connected to the antenna and mic. If you want Ian, I can meet up with you to see what's missing. Guy
  14. Hope to get a look round a DB9S today. Will be interesting to see what the final built quality is like. Not hearing good things.
  15. Very nice. I reckon money no object I'd have this over an Aston.
  16. All JDM cars have a speed limit restrictor. All of them. Not one EU spec Jap car has the same 110/118mph speed restrictor. Why??? Because the Germans have their own 155mph agreement. Steve you’ve obviously misunderstood what I said. “you can then drive like a complete muppet and not be concernedâ€
  17. All I'm reading here is a lot of bullshit speculation. Why would an EU car be limited to 110mph or 118mph? EU/UK spec is always different from JDM. Be it suspension or options/spec it always differs. Now lets talk about this track day crap. If you went in for a warranty job on you Z tomorrow because your brakes failed as a result of boiling the fluid on a track day do you honestly think Nissan will cover you? On the other hand if Nissan did an inspection of your car before hand you can then drive like a complete muppet and not be concerned about the gear box and other serious mechanicals. More importantly there is still the question of servicing (and tuning) will it included in the price as it is in Japan? There is a possibility that it wont be.
  18. +1 Always on. Funniest thing I’ve read in weeks. If true please explain.
  19. Don't you need to have a model report of something before a car can be registered in the UK? I remember reading of someone that imported a nismo Z last year but couldn't get a model report for months.
  20. With the Geneva show almost upon us I need some quick advice. I’ll be taking as many pictures as my memory cards will hold and want to be prepared. So camera gurus out there, what lens would you recommend to get the best quality pics? At the moment I’m thinking 10-22mm, which I don’t have, but am prepared to beg borrow or steal if need be. As the show is indoor should I get hold of a decent flash or could I assume the lighting will be sufficient to use the built in flash? (Canon 400d) Is there anything I’ll inevitably forget aside from tickets? Guy
  21. Sounds like a lot of effort. Open internet. Find local Chinese takeaway. Pick up phone. Place order. Sorted.
  22. No brown bread. Has to have meat. French roll is best. No cheese. Breakfast roll rocks.
