  1. Nope, sorry.... The (independant) dealer I bought the car from started the claim on my behalf, they took some some piccies and sent to Nissan.
  2. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, as I got four brand new Rays and the bubbling wasn't paticularly bad. ...but it did take Nissan ~ 6 to 8 weeks to eventually agree to the work, and a fair few calls to the dealer to push the claim along. The only slight problem I had was the dealers inablility to balance the wheels properly so I had to take the car back
  3. Believe the reduction in tax doesn't take effect until 2008 (surprise, surprise)... The net benefit is negligible anyway since he has scrapped the 10p tax.
  4. The link from Relevance is spot on - good 1st post mate!!....... btw..
  5. Welcome Claire , car looks ....... bet you can't wait?! Get some pics up of the mini - sounds impressive...
  6. Welcome gartree, enjoy the forum
  7. Ok - a few more piccies.... Burny Les Paul:- Power Tele:- Messy music room:- And a link to website for the band:- http://www.myspace.com/surferrosapixies
  8. Protect, fully comp with £250 excess .......£291 Also through Admiral (via Confused), next cheapest quote was ~£460. I'm 34 btw...
  9. Went to take some piccies of my guitars but the battery on the camera was flat & I cant find the charger ... You'll have to make do with some live pics of me I'm afraid, from a gig in Glasgow a few months ago.... reasonable pics of the Les Paul:- And not so good one of the Tele:- I'll get some more detailed pics over the next couple of days when I rescue the charger from the cupboard from hell In the meantime, music knowledge quiz time - can you guess what tribute band I play with (dont go by image, coz we look f*$k all like them!!)??? The clue is in my user name......
  10. TiN..... I went from the FTO to Z - big difference with all that extra power at the rear, and a seriously good car....go for it, you know you want to!!!
  11. Congratulations Nixy ....... long wait 'til May though.. At least when you get it the weather should be good enough to enjoy it properly Got any pics from the auction site?
  12. Welcome Zazz - hope you find something in your budget, you won't regret it....
  13. That is a really nice strat mate - ..... sounds like someone will get a bargain if you let it go for £500... I would be tempted myself but my fingers are too short for strats, and I have way too many guitars already! - the wife would My favourites are a Jap lawsuit Les Paul and a 'power Tele' deluxe with 3 p'ups and a piezo bridge for an acoustic like sound - the range of tones you can get from that are amazing... Good luck with the sale...
  14. Good shout, sheilas wheels were by far the best for the wifes MR2 roadster...
  15. Thanks for the input Sarnie - exactly what I expected.... Cheers to sl114 on the camaraderie for us GM'ers..
  16. Just renewed on the Z (UK car) for 1st time - £291 from Admiral... ... couldn't believe it, next cheapest was ~£480, so well chuffed.. Last car (FTO) was £460 so just goes to show the difference with imports - TBH, one of the main reasons I went for the UK Z.. Can testify to previous posts on A-plan for imports, they were by far the cheapest for me on the old motor. Before I renewed, I thought I'd better have a quick go at Churchill after hearing their constant adverts on XFm 'guaranteed to beat your quote with 3yrs NCB'....... £890!! very good mate, think I'll pass on that one.
  17. Thanks for the warm welcome guys (and Nixy)....... ..double first for me today - first time post and then first time I have clay barred a car, perfect day for it .... great results!!
  18. Hi folks - I've been browsing this suberb forum for a while now but still a posting virgin, so thought it was about time I broke my duck and introduced myself properly... Up until last summer I was quite happily driving around in my old Jap V6, nice wee motor and individual enough that it turned heads:- Then a mate in work decided to get an M3 and although I'm not a fan of the car (sooo common), I became very jealous of the power!! So after many drunken conversations with him about 'life being too short', 'you are only young once' etc. etc. blah, blah ..... I started searching about for a replacement for the FTO. Three criteria had to be met... 1. Individual 2. Power 3. Price Nearly went for a 2nd hand 911, but then the servicing costs scared me a bit - and checking the autotrader etc, they didn't quite give as big a tick on criteria 1 as I was looking for....(I will still get one though - one day...) After not too much research I realised it had to be the Z - I had loved them since the original press release - so started looking around for a suitable car. I was thinking that I would have to travel southwards to get the right motor since not too many 'right' cars were available in sunny Scotland, then one Saturday morning (after the night before) I spotted a contender on autotrader and it was only 20miles away.. Still feeling a bit tender from the previous evenings festivities I asked the wife if she fancied driving me to Glasgow to look at the car, but when she declined I had to drop a couple of paracetemol, grab some banana milk (top hangover cure!) and nipped upto Glasgow on my own... ...One exhilirating test drive later, I parted with a few grand and the car was mine (actually had to wait a few weeks until the previous owners private plate was replaced - I HATE waiting on new toys!!)... Cue the 'they forgot to paint it' comments, but hopefully the other GM owners will stick up for me (and at least you dont HAVE to clean it every other day for it to look good!! ):- Guess the previous owner must have had some taste as they had already replaced the 'burgers' for me:- So that was in July last year and I haven't stopped smiling since.. Only mod so far has been the obligatory 'stubby'... and the nice man at Nissan also gave me four brand new Rays since the laquer was bubbling a wee bit - didn't actually notice it, but the guy at the garage where I bought it pointed it out to me and started the warranty claim (which took >2months but got sorted in the end..)... So no longer a posting virgin! - dont think I will turn into a post whore but I will stick the odd opinion in from time to time... Must, go - its dry here for once, so time to get washing and polishing.... [/img]
