£35 for a bottom bracket (bearing) with fitting aint too bad chap. Back when I used to freeride, I think my bottom bracket was about £0! Just remember to sqirt some grease in there every now and again Bikes back and in top condition. A sealed for life Shimano unit so pleased with the result. The guy in the shop said riding in the flood with, a not fully sealed unit, caused the problem so fitted a fully sealed unit to prevent a recurrence. Ming the Happy - and slightly nervous

Just been out for a 26 mile ride and busted the crank bearings on my bike. I guess 850 miles in 3 months put a bit too much of a strain on them. Its in the broken bike shop now having new bearings fitted so there goes another £35. (Shimano stuff 'aint cheap you know) Oh well. Ho hum. All in a good cause. Ming the Prepared

On the 21st of July this year I am part of a ten person (Five x two person teams) who are going to cycle 1100miles in 4 ½ days. We will ride in pairs for an hour and then hand over the bikes to the next pair and so on and so on 24 hrs a day non stop relay style until we return. This means we spend one hour on the road and four hours in the support van continuously for 4 ½ days. There will be no breaks and no respite. No matter what the weather WE WILL continue. If this means detours they will be taken BUT we will do the capitals. We are our own support crew and drive the minibus, cook, prepare and try and sleep in the 4 hrs off. I have put in many, many hours on the road to prepare – and still am I might add we have a 40 mile hill session booked for Tuesday after work – and invested substantial amounts of money in our efforts. Easy. Change the name from 'Criminal' to 'Outlaw' Outlaw means 'outside the law'. They do not get to choose which laws they are in and which ones they don't. Out side one law. Outside all the laws. No pay. No water! Second option. Limit the water issued to two two hour stints a day with a limited - read trickle - supply the rest of the time. Enough for emergencies and no more. Easy Dole is EARNED If you do not have a job and are fit and able bodied then you do 40 hrs voluntary work for your dole. No work = no money. Almost everyone is able to contribute to our society and should be encouraged to do so! The spongers that you refer to will then see the benefit of getting a higher paid 'job' and move off the dole leaving it for those genuinely in need of it! Ming the PM although I agree there are some who would say that would take jobs away from people who would normally get paid for them. Should definitely make em do something though! If you were the PM what would be the first thing you would do? I will start us off. 1. Completely shut down ALL immigration for 12 months. 2. I know that this thread has been hijacked but I with Digsy 100% on this one. If you get in my car you wear a seat belt. No belt = no ride!! I always wear my belt in my own car. As a police officer I am exempt at work but still wear it the majority of the time. (There is the odd work situation like carrying a prisoner where I don't put it on) I have seen one to many NASTY crashes where a seat belt could have saved the driver or passenger to not want to put mine on. I agree there will always be the exception where the seat belt caused the injury but they are the EXCEPTION. Nixy Grow a longer neck then it wont hurt!! Ming the Useless. Mrs Ming celica does the same thing and she bought one of those pads that fits on the belt. It works wonders but stops the belt going back when you take it off??
