  1. lol - The colour will be staying the same (I think) it just needs to be done again as the first attempt was so bad.
  2. lol Cheeky git. You wait till I get my arse out of gear on the 350z install.
  3. Just thought I would post some pics of a Skyline that I have been helping out with over the last few weeks. Spoiler is not to my liking but other than that quite like it. Shame its got to go back for a complete respray due to the poor job first time round, back to the tuners to sort some problems out and then stereo out to sort a few issues lol
  4. All the US Manuals and Service books are also available free from the 350z Wiki - http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Service:Index
  5. Sorry - the trip is in Aug so I won't have the results for a while
  6. Obviously that was on your private road
  7. Hmm sounds like its time to play the games. Don't think I will go down to 60mph. Might to from 70 - 80 in 2mph intervals and see what the results are like.
  8. As the realtime MPG monitor is fairly crap does anyone know what the most efficient cruising speed is in 6th gear? Got a 500 mile round journey coming up and are in no hurry so happy to set the old cruise control to what ever speed makes the car happiest? Is it around 80?
  9. Do Zymol not use any form of polish in thier range? Recently I have read a number people who use Zymol and they talk about cleaning, clensing and then waxing but there is no mention of polishing at all which is a vital part of cleaning a car.
  10. Tim, you know that you've bought just the clay bar there don't you? Looking at that link it includes both the clay bar and detailer spray. Don't think Meguiars sell the clay bar on its own.
  11. The main time I use it is when you are doing that final touch - you use detailer & cloth to just remove any surface dust left etc. If you wash the car and the and couple days later all your shuts are dusty, plastics a bit scuffed, its good to just remove any light stuff from the surface. There is really not much need for it unless you are at shows etc - thats where it comes into its own.
  12. Don't use your detailer up with the clay bar - expensive way of doing it - all you need is some soapy water. Get a spray bottle, put some car wash & water into it and job done and you still have loads of detailer left
  13. You should polish the car before waxing it. Its the polishing that really holds the key.
  14. Try admiral - they seem to look kindly on the 350z (as well as the Supra) 27yr / 6yr NCB in an OK area £415 (with mum on which brings it down another £100 )

    Tracking

Micheldever in Winchester have used this sort of technology for the last 5 years!! as you say it will take quite a while to catch on as its not the cheapest of equiptment.
  16. The drivers door was also smashed so not much of it left, including the switch trim panel that often gets scratched/kicked getting into the car
  17. Are there any places that have track days with 350zs supplied? Don't really fancy driving my own car round due to the risk of taking it off (done it before in a previous car) and once you add all the costs of tyres, pads etc your almost at the cost of many other track days.
  18. Personally I would just get professional mop than one of those. Only thing it has on its side is that its slightly lighter than a standard mop although looks to be more expensive once you've paid all the taxes etc. Looks like I will just have to settle for mopping the car with some G3 and then polishing it & waxing it. Shame as on a black car its noticable.
  19. Ouch that means there is sod all paint on these things Time to find someone with a device to measure the thickness of the paint. Probably a sign of why it chips so easily, the paint is not thick enough to bond together well enough
  20. lol 2000 is nothing. The difference between a car that has been polished and one that has been properly flatted and polished in amazing, the darker the car the more obvious it is. In the middle of doing a car which has had 1500, 2000 and 3000!!! after a new paintjob
  21. I am now looking at getting the paintwork on my 2nd hand Black Z back up to scratch - well not scrach up to a high standard. Ideally to get rid of all the minor scratches and amazingly shocking orange peel I want to get out the 2000 grit paper to get the paint 100% flat. As the car is not laquered and its a straight colour anyone know if they use a decent amount of paint? Don't want to flat it and get though to primer. I would hope there is more than enough paint to flat it back a bit before polishing but thought i would ask first anyway.
  22. As I said steve - this is the stuff I used on my old 206 and it did appear to make things much better.
  23. Ah - just been out - I presumed by setting it on to auto that it would mean it turns the air con on. So if you don't press the button it just puts on the fans - is that not a bit pointless. Would have thought if you turned on the fans you would want the air-con to kick in. Tommorow on the way to work I will check but that sounds like the problem - Doh typical newbee
  24. Had my 2nd hand 2yr old UK Z for 3/4 days and the last couple days have been quite warm. Even with the aircon set to the coldest setting I just found that it was blowing hot air rather than cooling it as well. Is this common? Its got "Climate Control Air Con" so I presume it would chill the air on a hot day but i found the inside of the car really stuffy.
  25. Its very supprising that one of the big cleaning companies haven't tried to buy into them and sell it. If it was marketed well it would be a killer. IMO can't be beaten for cleaning any sort of stainless etc.
