  1. There are two options when using the standard space.. 1) Build a box to fit the space - there are a few people in the US who sell these type of boxes 2) Use the stock sub frame etc If you use option 2 make note the following * Make sure you seal up the space properly. It is no-where near a sealed area. There are holes all over it. If you just put a normal sub into the hole it would sound rubbish. *Bear in mind that if you just seal it up using something like Dynamat you are left with quite a large area i.e. 2 cuft+ depending on the sub this might be way too much for a a sealed box for it *You would also probably have to build a MDF spacer to put on the metal frame - this is not as simple as it sounds for a 10" as there is hardly any contact area on some areas of the rim of the hole so you have to make sure your spacer is 100% sealed to the frame *Watch out for the size of the frame of the sub if you go for a 10". If you get something with a wide casket you will have to angle the sub to be more 90 to the road otherwise it will hit the metal on the base of the hole in the box. THink that covers it. And yes I have got a sub in there. Not very happy with it at the mo but think thats cause its an old crappy sub. Looking to get a better Hertz one in there soon as finances allow (or I can find an old Orion H2 as I love those)
  2. I would agree - I think a low % of members have owned since new
  3. Take a look at http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16403 for many of your answers
  4. Just out of interest are you wet laying the carbon over the top or are you laying carbon into moulds etc? (Just looks like your laying carbon up ontop in the picture of that cover thing)
  5. Hmm don't like the look of that trim too as its made of metal, would be too easy to slip and scratch the panel/paintwork, specially with those pokey out bits Would rather go for something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-Trim-Tool--%26-Upholstery-Tool-Kit-Set-5Pc_W0QQitemZ160331829448QQcmdZViewItem
  6. i.e. they are nothing special so the scum don't look to steal them so much now
  7. For me some simple trim bits would be nice such as door handle trim, window switches trim (really want this as it scratches soooo easily) For many of the trim pieces there are foreign suppliers but IMO if we could establish a UK supplier it would be much more advantageous.
  8. Don't worry about it - more and more cars are now coming out with integrated double din units so non-removable screens are not the 'special' case. As for what to do. IMO Just replace the BOSE with an all in one such as the Kenwood 5240
  9. Looks better in the flesh although in black not sure I really like it. Never have liked the front bumper - those teeth remind me of the aftermarket jap bumpers from 10 years ago. Think the Nismo front bumper looks soo much better
  10. I would strongly recommend running a separate power feed for the install rather than pulling it from the rear power outlet.
  11. Think these are being made in mainland europe and roumered to be LHD only. Shame. Sounds like they are just looking to over-charge for some mods
  12. Yup as you say answer buttons do not work. AFAIK there is no aftermarket car kit that will use the factory buttons. Only the factory stereo buttons can be used with aftermarket stereos. Its 'probably' possible with a bit of wiring but not a un-plug:plug job thats for sure
  13. You don't want to be using a normal long reach socket you want to use a specific spark plug one. The reason is once you have un-done the spark you need to get it out. A spark plug socket has a rubber section in it to hold onto the spark ...see below
  14. Yup looks over-priced. Looks like hes trying to get his money back for the mods which just doesn't happen. Would get more by putting it back to standard and flogging the parts separately.
  15. Technically you cant park in front of a dropped kerb if they have the planning permission so that kerb is now access to their property so u will be breaking the law parking there. BUT if they don't have planning permission its a very grey area. I would say report him, if they have not got planning they 'could' be fined NOTE: If you make an official complaint you will have to declare it when you come to sell the house which might end up with people asking questions
  16. you should be able to get a normal socket style one for the spark, then you can use an extension bar to get it down and then a nice big ratchet and you should be able to get a nice bit of torque to undo it
  17. Sorry for dragging up the old thread. Looking at doing this myself soon. How did you measure the tension. Did you have a special tool or did you just judge how tight it should be?
  18. For the 404 it would be the BT400 which I think it much much better than the older 350/300BT units as its developed by Parrot who are the industry defacto standard for handsfree
  19. 1. Seems i will be able to control this via the steering controls with the correct lead installed? Yes with the right loom 2. Seems i need the correct double din facia adapter for this? Are these easy to source? Yes quite few suppliers 3. I assume this can connect straight into the BOSE system? Any issues with this? Not really - depending on the loom can sometimes be quieter but this can be sorted 4. I'm guessing the best place for the ipod is in the arm rest cubby? yes For loom/facia thoughts take a look at viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16403
  20. No different form Chelseas funding
  21. lol - It won't do much. If he took the pic he's every right to sell it.
  22. Obviously the spokes are powdercoated, is it just the very thin lip that has been polished with the rest of the 'dish' being the factory silver? Can't really tell from the pics. You got any close up ones of the dish/edge?
  23. You got any better pics and what facia was used
  24. Thats not bad value really. OK it could be done for much less if you wanted yourself but many don't have the time/ skill to do it so this really is a well priced alternative.
