  1. Yeah my local dealer also had the demonstrator in when i pop in to pick up some drop links
  2. Think there was a thread about it a while back and the main company that does it in the UK don't recommend it so as a result don't think many do it.
  3. You have to ask questions when the service dept don't even realise straight away that the 350z doesn't need a cam-belt changed due to having the chain.
  4. Nah the 'normal' way to powercoat is using electricity (thus why I questioned it) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_coating (Didn't realise there were so many methods to do it) "The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin.""
  5. Yeah was pretty sure it was used in powder coating. Did not realise you could do it without it. Time to google
  6. I thought powercoated until I saw the taped up area was also covered. My understanding of powdercoating is it uses electricity for the powerder to attach to the part i.e. parts that are not metal the powder would not attach to thus here the tape would not be covered
  7. If your getting the wheels powdercoated I would let them deal with stripping them or ask who they recommend locally - they will probably have a company they use when they do have to strip stuff. As for the studs - I found on my fake split rims that they would just unscrew. Your best bet is to unscrew them all, get the wheel powder coated, replace any studs they are screwed and then just screw them back in - job done
  8. I'm sure they said they were around £100 fitted when I had my service, with access to ramp and tools its a fairly easy job
  9. All comes down to how dodgy an area is. IMO A tracker is OK but not really worth it. The sort of people that would now steal a 350z are going to be pros and probably ready to drive it straight into a container - tracker rendered useless. The main reason I put mine in a garage is due to the risk of vandalism. Even in a very good safe area some drunken **** decided to vandalise the bonnet of my car requiring a £250 respray. Thats the sort of thing I would be worried about not it being nicked. Also what other cars park in your street. If its one of the better ones its more likely to be done due to envy. If there are loads of great ones you should be fine
  10. Maybe they just need to get rid of it. Its the very first year and higher millage. When I got mine I was buying from a couple that had to sell as they were splitting up and it was owned by both of them, as a result I managed to get around 1K off the cheapest anywhere else in the country at the time. Find out if he has receipt history of the car and get it checked out by RAC etc
  11. I can tell you that I have ordered said rear joints from Nissan and together they come to £56.18 for the pair + vat i.e. £64.61. IMO its worth changing both as the rears are prone to failing so may as well do the other one while at it. Personally I could not justify the cost of the uprated ones as they have only just failed after 5 years.
  12. Possibly - if its a crap earth it could affect all sorts on it.
  13. Yes the cage the head unit comes with is plastic but that cage sits within a plastic facia which sits in a plastic center console. The standard head unit does ground but its frame is much bigger and it bolts to the chassis. I bet the reason your head unit is working at all is due to the aerial being in providing a ground path
  14. Oh there still saying the cage is ground are they I would put a pint on the chassis not being grounded if you tried to remove it.
  15. Pretty sure its not down to the audio. Caps in the amps will not be discharging through you thats for sure. Probably just down to a combination of what your wearing, what your driving on etc.
  16. Yeah these have been around for a while. Saw it in the papers a while back. Ever since been looking out for any of the picture 20ps and checking if the date is there
  17. Ah brings back memories of the old Tamyia Falcon I had - well just on sat gave to a mate to play with and give it an overhaul - still running after 20 years. Would love to get back into it but know it would end up costing £300+ Would want to build it from scratch again
  18. Really good review - probably the most interesting point is the one about TC and how they have refined it from being soooo brutal in the 350z the way it just cuts everything.

  20. Was it a pukka full UK model? Only seen the demo cars around myself with the dodgy steering wheel lol Sounds like it is a good progression over the 370z - will just have to wait a few years for them to come down to the sub 20K mark. Don't think I could stand the £1000s you loose from driving off the fore court

  22. Sounds like it comes down to a simple question then..... Do you think you can find a better car for the money. If not then I would make sure you get the dongle out of them and try and get a free service out of them. If you think the car is good and it was well priced then just keep it. If you think you can get better else where take it back and and state nice and simple its not as advertised so want your money back Personally I don't think the number of owners is really an issue - with the 350z I could easily see it having 3 owners in 4 years. When i bought mine it had 2 in 2 years but it did not bother me as they have both serviced it to spec etc.

  24. Take a look at Screwfix for pressure washers - do Nilfisk ones which are very good, metal pump blade rather than karchers plastic ones and very competitive price .. so competative that its 10 bar more than the Karcher that is at 50% off yet its only around £10er more stock price before any discount vouchers etc.
