I need to clear up a few things regarding the Supra mapping after having a chat with Ryan who mapped the car (After some members on here contacted him to alert him to the fact that I was unhappy with his work!)
After speaking to Ryan, it seems that the Supra had a multitude of faults that were picked up on by Ryan during the mapping session. Unfortunately these faults were not relayed to me by the "Supra specialist" (And I use that term in the loosest sense) that did the work on my car over winter. From speaking to Ryan & from the notes he has about my car, everything ties in with exactly how my engine ended up in the condition that it did - had I known this from the start (As I suspect the "specialist" did and was probably hoping the car went bang on the dyno so they could sell me more overpriced parts) I'd have cut my losses with the car a LONG time ago.
The faults that were picked up during mapping
Misfire above 1.1 bar - Car was returned to me running 1.3 bar & was told that car was running very nicely & the map was very smooth!
Smoke on overrun - indicating Valve stem seals, turbo seals or piston ring issue -When my engine was stripped we found cylinder 4 piston to be damaged & a broken piston ring!
Fuel pump needs better wiring as suffers from voltage drop at high RPM
but my car "feels very strong on the road for sure, I’m sure you’ll like it…"
Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend Ryan - its just unfortunate that I was deceived by a perceived Supra specialist
