  1. More details needed. Especially of that MNP one
  2. Was thinking it, but I want to be able to drive everyday without hassle and without drawing to much attention from the wrong kind. plus you had one They do they in camoflage colours like black, silver and grey too you know They shouldn't though Lambos are supposed to be outrageous
  3. BNR34. I'm not sure either why I fell in love with it, I just did. There was something about it that just felt right. Its hard to explain but it just felt right. I won't be going crazy with it, I would be happy with a safe 450-500bhp & get the handling perfect. I will be adding my own touches to it & you can expect plenty of shiny engine bay goodies
  4. Have been meaning to call you back but been a bit busy with work this week Will give you a call tomorrow, there are a few that I have seen that I could do with a 2nd opinion on
  5. Nice of you to sign up here to point that out Perhaps you could also explain to the rest of the members a) Why you did this when you knew the UTEC was faulty? Seems like a money making exercise to me Why my wideband gauge that you installed only actually works when it feels like it? It worked fine the first part of the journey home but then stopped once I got back to Newport - It just sat on --- for the rest of the time & still does that now
  6. Car was completley standard bar an exhaust. The controls felt a lot lighter than they do on the Z. It didnt really feel that quick but then I didn't really rag it. I've heared conflicting things about the delivery aswell, some people have said that you can feel the car come on to boost (Which I couldn't, when I've driven turbod cars in the past you definatley know when your on boost) and others have said its like driving a big N/A car. The one I drove felt much more like a big N/A car but I suppose once you start messing with the engine then it will really come to life. I didn't get a great chance to test the handling, The car I drove was at an import company at Southampton Docks so I only drove it around the surrounding area. I was slightly disappointed with the power delivery, I was expecting to hit 3k revs & actually feel the turbos kick in but it was similar to the Z in the way it delivered it. I'm not sure if it was just a case of me not pushing it as hard as I would if it was my own car or if the car had more serious underlying problems. The power was there, I just wasn't blown away by it. I know they are only officially supposed to have 280bhp but most left the factory with a lot more than that. I thought the interior was much nicer than the Z, will be even better when I put the Brides in (and the takatas if Jerry stops taking an age to sell them ) It didn't feel as big or as heavy as the Z, despite being bigger & heavier. It also didn't sound as good as the Z but that would soon be put right It also has a lot of presence, its not as pretty as the Z but there are not many more agressive looking cars on the road. They also had a modified GTR there supposedly running 400bhp+ but that had a couple of flat tyres so I couldn't take it out to compare the difference.
  7. My price is demented or the price of R34s are? VIN for what exactly? I'm sure 99% of your posts are when you post after being in the pop You only have to look at the prices that R34s are going for both here & in Japan to see they are not exactly "cheap"
  8. Which pm? Your selector would have been on its way to you today, but Thor decided to change the route I had it wired so I need some daylight now to see exactly what theyve done with it I wont be changing my mind this time If my UTEC had worked then the car probably wouldn't be for sale but that failing was the last straw. I had always intended to get a R34 at some point in my life, might aswell do it now while I can
  9. That £20k includes the car I've spent loads of time looking at Japan auctions & good R34s are still fetching top money unfortunaltey Zele have some of the best R34s in Japan but the cheapest on theyre site is £27k
  10. That must be what I was thinking of. Wasnt it the PD190 or something? Must have been the FR. They were mental quick for what they were Fully agree chap, thats why I have RWD for the last 2.5 years PD150 but knowing VW that would be closer to 180. Cupras are pretty rapid, I loved my Ibiza Cupra, it weighed sod all & was pretty mental when it came on boost
  11. £6K for a GTR?? I've been told by import companies to be looking at a minimum of £20k to get a car here, New Era dont think it can be done for <£27k I've had the Z for 3 years now & the next step is FI. I just think that the money I would use to go FI is better put towards a car that is built for boost. I will own another Z one day but I have wanted a skyline since I was 10 so even if I only own it for a year, I can say that I have owned my childhood poster car. Yes, even as a child I was a ricer
  12. No FI Z is 100% safe without internal work A few UK zeds have gone bang below the 400bhp mark. If you are deadly serious about FI then IMO there is no better place to spend a few days than on my350Z in the FI section.
  13. Single exits are the future, you will all soon learn that The R34 I drove was a complete shed. But it didnt feel a lot different from the . For the size & weight of it, it felt a lot smaller & agile than it looks. These are just a few of the problems I noticed with the car - Paint was blistering on the c pillar, spoiler & door - There was a rattling noise when the clutch was pressed to change into 2nd - most of the screws for the engine cover were missing - the door was constantly rattling - there was a rattle coming from the boot area - the bonnet release was broken & hanging down in the foot well I never had any intention of buying it though, I just needed a test drive to make sure I was doing the right thing. If I can't find a nice car already in the UK when I sell the Z then I will be going straight to JM imports to import my own
  14. If you look in Marks thread you will find a comparison between a stock and a tuned zed with no mods. There were gains in the right places, better throttle control and I belive better economy. Dynos are close but it depends on operators and what gear the car is in as well as variables like if the dyno has been calibrated well. Stock zeds on the dyno tend to come in close to the given BHP, some have come in low but that can also be down to compression, sparks etc etc. Main thing is to find some one you trust (as well as others) get a dyno reading and continue on that same dyno for the rest of the work. I think you could be right on the cost effective route.. If I started again, the first thing on the car would be a charger or some mild but upgradeable TT... But I have roughly a 40bhp (and shed loads more torque) increase over when I had the car 1st dynoed (think it was about 228 at the wheel and is now 271 at the hub) and the car performs soo much better so am happy with what I got... For now!! +1 If I started again my first purchase would be a Vortech
