I've had a 2011 A5 2.0TFSI for the past 2 years and luckily had no issues with it apart from the common oil consumption issue which coming from a Z you get used to Its honestly one of the nicest cars I have owned, but there is a lot of talk that the 1.8 is more problematic than the 2,0

Doesnt take much space at all & has a 3 tonne weight limit so good for lifting most things. Its on single phase & yup, just needed a 16a fuse fitting to stop it tripping the power. The only thing that I wish I had done was to sink the ramp into the floor so that its flat and easier to get a car onto it. Reversing any rwd car with semi decent power whilst living in the wettest country on earth is a challenge when going up and over the ramp. i love it though, its by far one of the best things I have ever bought. After years of working outdoors and under gazeebos, to have a garage and a ramp is a massive culture shock

For a 2 poster, you usually need 6+ inches of concrete for it. I've got one of these, Its a Platinum MSL3. It lifts the car about 6 foot in the air & is an absolute godsend. I dont know how I ever managed without it ^^ Thats on the lowest "lock" setting I paid a bit more for it than you can find them for on ebay, purely because theres a place that sells & maintains them 10 minutes from my house. I've had it over a year now, I had 1 issue with it where it locked itself in the highest position but that was just a dislodged sensor that was quickly rectified

How’s the fit on them? Wondering if evo-r have sacked Stevie wonder from doing their quality control

I don’t think there are many decent garages in the area any more tbh Certainly none that I would trust tbh

Done a few mods to this since getting it I removed the cheapy Autometer boost gauge & installed a Defi BF boost gauge & contol unit, Personal Neo Grinta steering wheel, Works Bell Hub, Pioneer headunit, HKS AFK V2, changed all the dash bulbs to red, the inteior and boot bulbs to bright white LEDs & installed the 350Z aluminium footrest, brake pedal and clutch pedal. I also have the accelerator pedal to fit once I figure out the best way of fitting it I've also fitted a Cusco carbon fibre strut brace & carbon skinned my fuse box cover I've spent ages detailing it as the paint wasn't in the best of condition despite a respray. I've got it looking OK from a distance but I think it will need doing properly again in the future. I also removed the rear wiper & removed the rear spoiler - Looks a million times better without it - just need to find a spoilerless bootlid in green now so I dont have any holes I've also bought a Bullet Exhausts downpipe, I just need to get my wideband bung welded into it before I install it

No probs putting baby seat in the back of my A5 coupe prefer it to a 4 door because at least now she can’t sit there pulling handles and playing with the window switches constantly

At that budget and requirements I would find it very hard to look past the RS5. I daily an A5 and it’s the perfect car IMO. When I sold my 350, I was tempted to sell the Audi also and get an RS5 as an all rounder

Going rate for them unfortunately all skylines are ridiculous prices at the moment - the Americans are snapping them up ready for 25 years old to import. 34 GTRs are in excess of 60k these days and that’s not for a good one either. I struggled selling mine 8 years ago for 25k - really should have kept that car. And the R33. And the Supra

Even with tax and shipping, it still works out cheaper than most UK suppliers. Z1 are good, Never used ConceptZ but judging by their products, wording, and pricing they are basically Torqen in the US. If you want proper rare parts for the Z, you need RHDJapan, Nengun or JDM Autolink

That was the plan, but unfortunatley having a young child means its hard to justify spending the time and the money on something that the 3 of us can't enjoy. TBH, I was surprised by how well it handled, I came home from Shrewsbury down through Mid Wales and the car stuck to the road amazingly - I was half expecting it to be all over the place

Since the sale of my 350 a few weeks ago, I've been on the hunt for a more family friendly fun car. I had my heart set on a S15 Silvia, but the wife decided that the money raised from the sale of my 2 Zeds would be better used on getting things around the house sorted so we agreed on a comprimise and split the money. So, its not quite an S15 but its close Its a UK 200SX S14a, which underwent a full restoration about a year ago where all the rust was cut out and new panels welded in and a nice respray Its got a few mods for me to build up on JR3 17” wheelsEvery bit of rubber in the suspension has been replaced with hard rubber or polly.Engine & gearbox mounts also hard rubber.BC coilovers.Adjustable rear arms.Front Mount Intercooler.Battery in the boot.Det detector.Gizzmo boost controller.Stage 1a chip.Mongoose stainless exhaust.Custom cold air box for Apexi air filter.Whiteline adjustable ARBs.Roll centre correcting ball joints.Anti bump-steer longer track rod ends.Quick shift.SRB front splitter, the bumper is modified with extra plastic welded in to fill in the usual gaps left.Custom front number plate holder, front looks factory perfect to anyone not familiar with an S14a, no big holes hacked into anything! My initial plans are to change the wheels to something a bit more BBS LM like in gold, new exahust, install my HKS wideband gauge, get some Defi's. Longer term plans include a forged engine & big top mount turbo Atleast it's still a Nissan
