Yeah I would love to have a work horse to cart the bike about and not the Zed but another car is just not feasible. The missus is looking at getting a new car though, so trying to sway her away from sports cars and towards ones that will take a bike rack

Oi, stop that. Half the OC already have it. I was gonna send Amanda in to reclaim them all I think Kev/Phil must have finally got their shipment from Varis! Was a good day, nice to meet a few more faces, especially the legend that is Mr Zedrush. Top chap, can now see why he missed the Wales Run as can anyone that has seen the amazing black beast. I would have been worried every time we came to anything other than smooth flat road! Decided to leave a little early as me and the missus were knackered, and was interesting trying to get out and past a sound demo with young ladies in small outfits. Even revving and flashing the lights, and beebing the horn didnt get people to move out the way

Why would anyone take a VW Passat to a Nissan main dealer to get a water pump changed? I'm not surprised they made mistakes - maybe he should take it to a VW shop next time? Because he used to know the tech lads in there and they were very very good. Recently the chap he knew has move on (to Aston Martin or somewhere similar) and it has really gone down hill. I'm just warning you to be careful of them. I had my disc and pads changed there and noticed when checking my wheels over after having the rear tyres changed that the fronts were lose (maybe half the torque they should have been) and the rears were spot on. I have no doubt that Nissan didnt torque them up right. Then after this happened with my mate and his Passat, I'm staying well away in future. They changed the water pump just fine, but filled the system with the wrong coolant, which they were adament was right. They left the headlights unplugged, which is very dangerous when he was driving home at dusk with his 2 young girls in the back, and they didnt do up the undertray which he found flapping underneath on the way home. You may say take it to VW, but if they agree to take on the work they should do it properly. Its the lack of detail that scares me. Just a friendly warning to check any work they do. -
I think there are quite a few a short drive away. Just need to get a bike rack sorted On the doorstep there isnt that much tbh, but enough countryside for me to keep fit with doing a few hours a week.

Just dont take it to Basingstoke Nissan to get it serviced once its out of warrenty. The amount of mistakes they made changing my mates Passat water pump is astonishing! -

Hey guys, Its all been discussed before, you will have to trawl the thread to find the specifics. Basically you chase the wires from the dome lights to the footwell. If you take the A-pilar cover off the passenger side, you will see a socket with 3 wires on it. I think red, black and pink. Red is permenant live, black is permenant ground and pink is switched ground which comes on when you open the doors etc. What you need to do is get a light (neon, cold cathode, LEDs as I linked before) and wire them up to the pink and black. Thats as much as I remember. I will take a look behind the pillar tomorrow, but a bit of multimeter action will tell you which is the right power source Link to the lights: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-Green-24CM-PVC- ... m153.l1262 (you'll need to browse his store to find an active auction)

Type g Cheers Beavis I notice he doesnt post much - does anyone have any info on the small number plate surround on his car? Had thought it could be a square JDM one cut in half to produce a small rectangular surround? PM him, hes a nice enough chap, met him at St Davids where we were both staying. Be warned, it may have just been like that when he imported it and not know it is something different to normal -
Rob: are we still meeting at Reading services @ 7.30am? Just cleaned my new (well new to me) popcharger ready to be oiled and fitted tomorrow night

Chaps, On getting back into MTBing, I stumbled across this excellent site you can use to plan walks or bike rides. http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php It shows you two maps, google maps and also the OS map of the same area. Allows you to plan routes using both google maps (for easy of identifying places) and OS to allow you to see footpaths/bridalways etc. Also lets you save the waypoints down to a GPS devices like the Garmin Edge for the actual hike or ride. PS Its a work in development so try not to be too critical of it

I keep saying this, but it has to be caveated that only in certain conditions can compacts keep up with SLRs. With the kit lense on an SLR, the compact will have no problems keeping up. Swap it out for some better glass and some more challenging conditions (fast action, low light, etc) and the SLR will compeltely wipe the floor with the compact. For most people in most situations the compact will be fine, but in those challenging places the SLR is still miles ahead. -

Was it TT2Z? Maybe Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! Was it or not? Think it was. He was dropping of my newest mod and he was in a UY Zed, but I didnt clock his numberplate. That looks like where he was parked -

I agree, to date this is my 4th one, previously I've had a Hardrock comp, Rockhopper and Rockhopper Comp, all awesome bikes

In an effort to get fit, I got this baby off some chap on eBay last night. Its only 2 months old and got a nice chunky lock thrown in for good measure with a couple of hundred quid of the original price he paid. Been some 5 or 6 years since I last did XC riding and my god the bikes have come a long way! Everything is so light and presice, it makes me feel rather crap at riding again! Specialized Rockhopper Comp Disc 2008: (images stolen from eBay!) Anyone else into XC/trails/free ride? I'm now currently on a mission to get a bike rack for the Zed

It's amazing to think that all those SC and TT companies didn't need to do any R&D on their products after all - Tim you were needed as part of their design team I think he was on Flirts design team

I think some of the diesel lorry ones would look nice Or one off an old 2nd world war plane, they were all supercharged. Edit: Dont worry I was talking jibberish Surely you could bolt any old one that fits in there, but it would cost more to fabricate all the bits and test them than it would to just buy the proper specific kit? And the chance of detonation would be pretty high
