Indicator flashes once when lightboard connected
Chris`I replied to Chris`I's topic in 350Z Technical
Hi Chris, did you ever post a pic of the bike rack on the car? I need to get a rack myself but an dithering about what to get. Not taken any pics yet, wanted it all up and running first, but will try and get some tonight if its not raining! Here is a pic on another thread from the chap I bought it off. It was custom fabricated from a Halfords tow bar mounted rack so you wont get another one like it from the shops (click to enlarge) -
Indicator flashes once when lightboard connected
Chris`I replied to Chris`I's topic in 350Z Technical
OK, that sounds logical, I'll give that a go. I did think the same thing, so I've ordered some LED indicators from a fleabayer I used to get my LED tail light bulbs so we'll see how it goes. If that doesnt work then it looks like I'll be unwrapping the loom again to check the connections. Dopy sod, I should have checked all the lights worked when the engine was on before I wrapped it, but when it all worked with just IGN I thought it would be ok. The really strange thing about it is its happy as larry to flash when only IGN is on, but as soon as you start the engine it flashes once more and stops -
I'm with the others, go for it! I think they will look pretty smart, and certainly different. As Jay says, if the offset isnt quite right then get some spacers. My rotas are a 8.5/9.5 F/R and I'm sure they have around a 30ET as do the Nismos. I think low 20/high teens would stick out too much.

Chaps, Since getting my bike rack for the zed ( ), I've hit a slight snag. With both bikes on the rack, I need a lightboard as they blocked the lights and number plate. So I got a lightboard and wiring kit from Halfords. All wired in and working spot on or so I thought .... I've spliced into the loom that runs down the right of the boot to get feeds for indicators and brake light. When IGN on it all works fine, lights flash, relay beeps for indicators, but when the engine is on, the right indicator works and the left flashes once then stops With the engine off, but IGN on, they both work fine! Any general ideas on what it can be? Is the Zed thinking there is a bulb out and not flashing any more? Usually on bulb out it will flash quicker from my experience. Its a really weird on, hence the need for help! Save me from having to do the relay work myself when turning left!!!!

OEM (Rays) are 8/8.5 F/R repsectively. Not sure about the standard wheels. Nismo's are also staggered AFAIK. Dunno, I've just always been told to keep the stagger. Probably wont make much difference. Does look like there are "front" and "rear" specific ones being dished and non dished looking at RareRims.

Why 9'' all round? You get the concave look all round with that width. A lot of guys in the US run it. Not quite true. You could get two pairs of rear wheels (concaved ones) and still have them staggered. They wouldnt quite be the same dish, so if you were to get two rears, I guess you'd get them the same width to keep the dish the same front and rear. Its the fact that they are the rear wheels that gives the dish. Front wheels are flat. You can run either fronts all round or rears all round if you want. TBH I think I would always go with a stagger. Having front and rear the same width has to have an adverse effect on handling versus the OEM setup. Eh? AFAIK the Rotas come in different widths and offsets but not "front" and "rear". Its the combination of width and offset which gives the concavity. The same width rim front and rear shouldn't have an adverse effect on handling but same size tyres front and rear might. Probably me getting misinformation off my350z then. They bang on about P45F and P45R which are the US GTRs. EDIT:Just been on RareRims and there must be front and rear specific. They do both dished and non dished with the following fitment: 5x114 et25 18x8.5

Tell me about it! I think half the OC have one now. I might sell mine and get a Top Secret one that looks almost identical, but hey at least its different! I love the VS V1 lip, my toss up was between that and the Varis. Seeing the Varis on Phils car swayed the decision though

The tilt only moves the front of the seat up and down and nothing more. I dont think it will give you any extra headroom, just a little more room around the steering wheel for your knees. I have mine down all the time and I'm only short. TBH your best bet is the non GT seat

I looked at them when I came to get my Zed and sell my Leon. They offered significantly more than Nissan did for the trade in (read: £1k more!). Needless to say I took that to Nissan and they wanted the sale so much that they upped the initial offer £1.5k. I think that site only gives a good price for new cars in a certain bracket.

Ditto, I'm barred from speaking to Phil until I've cleared my credit card(sorry Phil )

Its the same as the Birdview sat nav I had in my car before Nissan removed it. It is a Nissan fit, but I think its retro fit by the stealer rather than on the car when it arrives. As i say the unit is the same that was in mine as is the remote and its IR eye and the GPS reciever is teh same except mine was ontop of the strut brace out back rather than the dash.

See they stole the images straight from Phils photobucket account! Scumbags Jay: we know you contacted them and told them to put it on there

+1 - hes busy as f00k so best to phone him. Hey, atlest Jay isnt on the phone to him 24/7 any more!!

When Westway Nissan "removed" mine, I found the IR eye/on switch in the dash, the GPS reviever still attached at the back and a whole load of wiring in the central armrest/tunnel!!! Nissan are shocking in this country! Good job they dont put the car together

My car likes to take a leak on the floor too after a long journey
-
Looks like you've got retrofitted Nav. My Zed came with that and yes that is the GPS reciever. I got mine removed at a discount as I was going to put my carpc in there. My GPS reciever was on the rear strut brace though. They certainly are crap at fitting these things!

Drop me the img numbers and I'll stick them on some webspace I have. at 3-5MB a pop they aint small enough to email easily One thing I did notice chaps, is after the track session, non of you had chocks to stick under the wheels to leave the handbrakes off. Hope non of you had pad transfer and the judder it leads to! First rule of track days/sessions is not to put your brakes on afterwards, always chock the wheels -
They are pretty terrible cars. I had a ride in one when I was a lot younger (around 10yrs old maybe) and it was awesome being in the Back to the Future car! Now they just look pants
