  1. I'd say Endless pads and EBC grooved discs. I have EBC grooved discs and DS2500 pads and the combo is noticably better than stock. Just remember to bed them in properly otherwise they squeal (dont they Sarnie )
  2. That cant be real, his spine would be crushed. Nice idea though
  3. Yep you are probably right as I reckon you've done everyone else's head in on here O.K my time on this forum is up Just kidding bud!
  4. Good news for the next couple of years. Then we'll get hit with even higher taxes
  5. Excellent news that hes back, just dont let him go OTT
  6. Yeah thats some good points! guess there must be a way of turning that off? would be good on a serious drive but could be a pain day to day, dont need to rev on down changes on a drive to tesco if you knoew what i mean From the vids I've watched you have to turn it on. One thing that worries me is that it doesnt replace heel toe. The point of heel toe, is to match the engine revs to the drive train, but also keep maintainence throttle on so that you are ready to modulate it. With this, it will blip the throttle for you, but then you will still have to swap your foot from the brake to the throttle at some point, at which point you might unbalance the car by having a little engine braking and then increase in throttle as you try to put it back on again. I think this could unsettle the car exactly when you dont want it to. I'll keep my own heel toe thanks
  7. Yup, good little camera. Dont be dragged into the more megapixel is better debate. 6.1MP is more than enough with good lenses, you'll be taking better pics than guys with 10MP cameras with poor lenses. 6MP will allow you to easily print upto A3 sizes I would say with no real loss of quality. Bigger MP cameras are really designed for much much bigger prints.
  8. Same part numbers as the standard Exedy unit at £250 Phil (Andrew?) - would you recommend doing flywheel at same time? - if so which would you give best recommendation? Most poeple do. By the time you have paid for the labour its not much more to get it done and makes a considerable difference to every day driving
  9. Yep it was! Wheres the bouncy avatar gone? I was enjoying that
  10. You got lucky mate. My friend got black flagged at Bedford for being over the drive by limit. He passed the static, but failed the drive by. Marshall said as the sensors are linked to the local council, they have to be seen to kick people off (bit dubious to me and the fact they let you stay on proves that they dont have to kick people off). He thinks it was his induction kit which tipped it over. The two options I have seen before are mentioned above. Add a mid section silencer (removable or whatever), or get an Apexi valve fitted to the midsection, so you can restrict it when you want (on track) and open it up when not (on track with no limits!)
  11. If they had seen a G35 before and tuned it with Haltech, assuming they had similar mods to you, then they would be able to tune it quickly. Will also benefit others who do the same as you now, as they have your map as a base, so anyone going with similar mods might get it done even quicker Not a pro in this area but heard you cannot really use maps between cars anyway since there will be certain difference that can't be accounted for? Pingu, do you have access to the ecu or is it locked down? (sorry ment to say not 100% exchangable...) No idea in this car, but on my old Leon, you used to be able to get different "Stage" tunes for the mods you had of a place called Revo Technic (something like that). They had generic maps that could be used on the car depending on what mods it had. Obviously it wont give you the most gains as they have to leave a decent level of overhead in there, but it certainly worked. In Pingus map, I'm not saying they could apply it to my car and off I go. It just means they dont have to start from scratch again so saves time. I.e. might take just 2hrs to tune rather than 3hrs+. At the end of the day, tuning is all about getting to know the ECU and the engine, so the more they see, the quicker they will get to a certain point
  12. Yup, hopefully going to scout it out for him. Is scary if this is a real deal as thats cheap!
  13. Build thread here - http://www.2jzswap.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2554
  14. struggling to get hold of phil to order them, is he still off work? or anyone know of anywhere else i could get them. should just finish them off nicely! Give them a ring if you havent already. Andrew is holding the fort and I hear he is doing an admiral job

  16. Ordered some stuff Wednesday - still not back OK, thanks Might contact Andrew then, I'm sure he can help
  17. Anyone know if Phil is back at ESR yet? Need to give him a call but dont want to if hes still ill, its not that urgent. Havent seen any posts since the 17th. Hope he's feeling better now
  18. The other thing to consider is the torque curve. Bar the MY07 complete re-engineering of the engine, the ones before, although increasing in power top end give away torque low end. Was speaking to Phil and he has customers who want the original engine, as day to day its more driveable. I think the MY07 does it all, but you cant really mod them. All depends on what you want to do with it.
  19. Should have known you'd have had some involvement Adam! Is there any sorted Zed in the US that you havent helped with? Reckon it would be the ESR R35?
  20. You guys still banging on about this stuff? My Zed has done about 30k miles on it already
  21. Cheers Chris. Just want to know the story behind it and how its ended up with only 300 miles in 7 months. Whether its been in any accidents, condition etc. I'm suspicious of the price. Non-GT spec doesn't bother me as I'd be going for a retrim and upgraded stereo anyway. Didnt manage to get down there today matey, Amanda diverted me round to her parents on the way home I'll try get down there tomorrow for you
  22. Never heard of them before, but I'll see if I can pop down there. As far as I was aware, that land was all farm land! Popping out to Maplin later, so I'll have a gander on the way back. If not I'll have a look some point during the week as they are about a 5 minute drive from me (I think I could ride my MTB to them in that time they are that close!) Anything you want to know specifically?
  23. Good job chap. I take it you dont have any sealant on the wheels? Like Poorboys or whatever? I suggest you get the wheels off, give them a proper clean and get some PB wheel sealant on there. Makes cleaning a breeze, and dont have to use strong stuff like Muc Off any more, which has been known to damage wheels over time
