  1. It doesn't increase the flow, it evens the flow out. You get the same total air going through, just more equitably delivered. And if my logic serves right, if its providing more flow to the front 2 cylinders, then the rear ones will be getting less air, and will be running richer.
  2. Certainly looks like it from the pictures I've seen!
  3. I do know this but there definately is a difference so must have been due to my old standard exhaust being so coked up with crap inside. It doesn't adjust instantly so there may be some initial gains which ebb away. +1 - from what I've heard on the US forums, the ECU will give some gains when you first fit breathing mods, but eventually dials it out as it re-learns how much of each parameter it needs to keep it to the target HP/torque. This is why so many dynos show gains if they are done the instant the parts are fitted but show no gain over time

    Tyre mileages?

As the others have said, its how you drive it. Be nice with the throttle and they last as long as any other car, mash it about and they wont! 20k is easily doable. I do a lot of motorway driving and my tyres have loads of tread left after 15k miles with them. Use them on the track or Wales runs and they'll soon disappear!
  5. Yeah havent seen on that looks like that for the Zed! Get a decent quality one from a trader if you want one. Many say its not worth it though as the throw is already quite short on the Zed. Quite a lot (myself included) have gotten Nismo gear knobs as they are lower profile and effectively reduce the throw by a nice amount
  6. Anyone know when the demostrators will hit the dealers? Will be popping down Dan Perkins (Slough) when they get one
  7. I have to agree with Sarnie (fook I'm getting bad at that!). The Op needs to decide on what he wants from the car. When I was looking into getting mine, an Elise or VX220 would never come into my mind as I need a boot and for it to be a good daily driver! No car like the Zed is going to compare to them in handling or wow factor. What the Zed does offer is a good pace and comfort to boot. Remember it is a GT car more than an out and out sports car. But that doesnt mean it ait quick as fook. I regularly put my mates Evo VIII to shame, which is prob more down to the driver, but his car feels a lot faster than mine because of the turbo thrust. The Zed is very deceptive with its very linea power delivery. But it does mean you have power all the time and can drive it lazily if you dont fancy ragging it everywhere. I'd say decide on what you want from the car and then testdrive the ones that offer you what you want
  8. Dont see why these things need to be soo expensive, but isnt that always the way Was looking to change out the HDD in my Foxsat HDR the other day and looking at the inside pics, there doesnt look to be £300 of kit in there, the box is about 2/3 empty!
  9. Good man Dan. PM me how much you want for them so I can bring the cash
  10. Good stuff. How do we know its the right one though? Adrian did say you'd be there on Saturday
  11. TBH, if you want to venture in to CarPCs, you cant get a better car than the Zed for it. The cubby already has the perfect hole for the screen and the rear glove box is perfectly placed for the PC itself. Its also a doddle to run the wires from the battery to the glove box and also from the glovebox to the screen. Now is the time if you want to give it a go. Plenty on here have done it
  12. Doh We need whatever should be replaced when moving the exhaust from one car to the other. I'm keeping my OEM Y-pipe, so I would guess really I only need the gasket between the Y and mid pipe?
  13. I would be happy for people to use mine, except the wires are burried under the car flooring I have another USB cable, but dont have another OBDII cable for the other end.
  14. Chaps (and Chapettes), As you know I have taken the plunge and bought Adrians Nismo exhaust. We were thinking that I should probably get some new gaskets for it. Are these things universal or what? Any traders got some? Ta
  15. +1 Thats what i was thinking. Thanks chaps. Thought it would be a wet sand and polish. Surely they can do that in a day
  16. Thanks guys I'm really anal about stuff like this and didnt know if I was just being too picky as the colour match is good. As you can imagine it looks much worse in person, camera is always hard to get a good representation of what it looks like. I will ring them in the morning and tell them something needs doing. Will it need a repray? Just worried that I wont get a hire car again for this so want it sorting ASAP without me having to be without a car. Could they feasibly prep and paint it in a day?
  17. ** All resolved now - see page 2 for pics ** As you guys know, I got reversed into and the lady damanged the rear bumper. I got it all sorted now, but having finally had the weather and light to inspect the job, the colour match looks good but the orange peel to me looks terrible. Not sure what I can do about it? Beavis suggested I may be able to get it buffed out, but from what I've seen on DW it might need a wet sand or even a respray. Anyway, heres the damage (excuse the pun), what do you think, should I accept it or demand it be put right? Also seems to be what I can best describe as grazing on the right hand part? Obviously the bumper is the newly painted bit, wheel arch is original. You can see the distinct difference in the reflection of the neighbours car between the 2 panels.
  18. Cant the body shop help in buffing that out. Mine looked superb but even so they are going to polish it up for me to get rid of any imperfections. Just hope that i am happy when i mate it up to the car. Going to get in contact with them and see what they say. According to DetailersWorld, Jap cars normally have orange peel paint anway, so the fact that this is worse than Nissans attemp means I'm not happy. At home now so will upload the pics and start a thread
  19. Glad it looks good Just about to post up about my rear bumper repair I had done. Looks very orange-peely (yes thats the technical term!). I have 50/50 shots of the original paint vs new paint and I think the amount of orange-peel on it deserves a re-spreay Colour match is good though.
  20. I'd PM ZMANALEX or Adam@Z1 about that and search my350z.com. Not heard of anyone experiencing their car running lean since installing it. Its not meant to alter the back cylinders AFAIK, only balance the flow to the front 2. Weird indeed.
  21. Sorry to hear that matey. Head up though, keep looking for the work and I'm sure you'll find something Your ok as long as you dont talk about selling the Zed
  22. I have an generic EML327 USB scanner - like this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELM327-USB-CAN-Co ... 0304683726 Havent ever had a CEL light, so dont know if it will read the codes, but it does connect properly as it gives me readouts for the digital dash on my CarPC.
  23. Yup its mint. I seem to remember it was owned by the MD. Could be making that up. Looooovely car. Mine needs a service in the next month, might take my camera with me and get you chaps some pics
  24. Yeah this is exactly the reason I tell people not to go out in them! All is good and well until you get stuck then you're fooked! Thats the problem with big fat tyres and loads of torque If you're going to do it then the key is momentum. Dont stop, ever! Just keep it moving slowly and you will keep the most traction you can. As soon as you stop its pretty much game over as theres so much torque, you'll just slip if you are on a slope.
  25. If you have an OBDII reader then it would be good to hook it up. My guess is that a sensor related to TC/ESP/ABS has gone a bit mad. ZMANALEX will no doubt be along in a mo to give some better diagnosis, he knows a lot more than me about the car
