is it possible to swab stock air box between earlier cars and newer ones "i.e. pre 06 with >06 air box"? I beleive it is, but good luck getting one for a reasonable price

Tyres, as with many things, are a personal preference. Do you like a soft compound (Falken/Toyo) that will wear quickly, but is realtively cheap? Do you want harder wearing but not so ticky (PZerro Ross - I had them on the Rays before), or do you want a mixture of both and want to pay the price for it (MPS2)? Or try something completely different like the Vredestein which are relatively unknown but get good reviews? The choice is yours and seeing as you cant make your mind up, get teh PZerro as it doesnt mean a full swap and you are happy with them!

Thats the weekend of the Wales drive out, so you will get very few takers as most people will be going up for that. Why not come to Wales instead and drive some real roads

I havent driven a Zed on anything other than 18's but I would imagine that the effect is minimal. Especially in Lexx case where the coilovers would have made a much better handling car than the 19s could take away. But what people have to remember is that they say 19s are better, but in all (cases I can rememeber) every person has gone from 17/18 to 19 but have also stepped up the width of the tyre. I think the added grip this gives will hide what it takes from responsiveness. When I had my Rotas refurbed and had my Rays back on (both 18s), you could feel the Rays would turn in quicker, but also made the car more twitchy. The thing I would most question is the stagger front to rear. I dont know what is or isnt a good combo, but you need to watch you dont make the rear too much wider than the front unless the car will have an even greater tendancy to understeer on the limit. I'm sure others will be along soon with recommendations

If anything most poeple moan its too quiet when they get it. Having been at a meet with an OEM, Nismo, Scorpion and 5Zigen, the OEM and Scorpion are quite similar. Given the Nismo isnt massively louder than stock, I would put the 3 in pretty much the same category, with the Scorpion and Nismo being quite simlar in terms of loudness.

So would you need these? At 20-25mm you might get lucky and not need them, but beyond that, yes you would need them

For a 4yr old Zed with 40k on the clock I wouldnt bother if its been serviced properly (9k miles or every year, whichever is sooner).

How far in is the metal braid? I'd be tempted to cut the outer silicone with something sharpe like a Stanley blade and then cut through the rest with a dremmel. Keeps the outer edges nice and neat then as they're the only ones you'll see

I've heard of the left speaker cutting out before but not the sub. What are the symptoms? Anything common to when it happens?

www.350Z-uk.com Stickers?
Chris`I replied to givememorepower's topic in Forum IT Issues & Bug Reporting
You can get yours at Wales. Means you have to come Sounds good to me bud , you can fit them If you're having internal stickers, bring some Windowlene and a MF cloth, can stick em on easier that way. Never done it before, but I hear it makes it dead easy as you can move them around a bit with Windowlene -
What are the stock rays bud ?, and how comes then some companies have a smaller profile at the rear Well there is a bit of room to play with, but as you'll have seen on many threads on here, you need to keep it pretty accurate. I beleive Rays are 225/45/18 and 245/45/18. Thats just the Rays though, the other std wheels may have different RR, just they keep the ratio of front to back the same. If you do a search I posted pretty comprehensive numbers before of the ratio you need to keep. If all else fails though, aim for what you have now in terms of RR

He didnt mention any Recaro in my price range, so I dont think he could match it. Getting the seat rails/subframes off him though hopefully PM on its way
-
Are they a performance centre? Not all dealerships will be getting one. Dan Perkins in Slough wont be, they offered me a place at their Mill Hill branch which is a performance centre. Same its NW London, its miles away from me

Anyone know if any other traders have links to Recaro or any other decent sites that do them? So far I have been looking at Demon-Tweaks (as a guide) and found sportseats4u offer them a little bit cheaper (do a discount with pairs). Most likely going to get the Bride subframes from Adam subject to delivery cost. Just wondering if anyone knows anywhere else to look for the seats?
-
Really? I've had my seats in and out the car about 5 times and never had a problem with the airbag light. I'd check your connectors if I was you
-
Not heard of them before, whos running one and whats it cost?
-
Seems to be within tolerances. My Zed hasnt used a drop of oil outside of normal servicing (every 9k) and I've put 40k on it

I wouldnt say Stew is rich, but thats exactly how he drives (just kiddin buddy!) Mart is spot on though. Bikers mantra is always assume the unexpected and drive/ride for everyone else on the road as well as yourself. Expect them to cut you up, pull out on you, shove their way in. You eventually get Zen like powers of driving where nothing phases you and you just let them do it because you knew they would. Doesnt stop a quick blap of the horn mind

Hello from a 350 and 240 owner
Chris`I replied to Rob Gaskin's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Speaking on behalf of the women car lovers (and I'm sure Nixy and Bronzee will back me up on this), I really think you should let your daughter have a go, isn't it universally known that females are the better drivers (don't know why I can't keep my mouth shut on a predominantly male forum ) Yip. If your daughter is that fearless Rob, she might be rather quick around the track as long as she keeps it tidy. My dad loved his powerful cars, but I've kind of taken the obsession to a new level. No dont do it! You wont get your car back! I let the missus drive the Evo triangle last Wales run on the Saturday and nows shes always moaning she wants a go at the driving! Takes time away from me driving, boooo! To be fair though, shes not half bad, better than most of my male friends who claim they are good drivers -
What model are they? Look very nice Recaro 'Sport', ive had a few different Bucket style seats in different cars in the past but i had these in my Evo and i cant honestly say that they are brilliant. They fit perfectly with the Zed interior, most people think that they came with the car as standard, and they hug in all the right places. It took me ages to track some down. Excellent matey Trying to decide if the extra £75 per seat is worth it to have leather bolsters or not. I like the all Alcantra look but think it might wear. Looks more sporty all fabric, but looks classier with the leather bolsters

What model are they? Look very nice

Which Recaros did you get? Considering getting some Recaro's myself

Have no fear, the quality of the Scorpion is very good. I have a Scorpion on my bike and its top notch. The reason it is cheaper here is that you are getting it direct from our traders (who normally give discount, which could explain it), and arent trying to make a quick buck, so no massive markup like eBay, and no cheap imitations either. Traders here have to offer good deals and products as their reputation is everything. We wouldnt recommend them otherwise. You wont be disapointed

Signed and forwarded! When will they learn education is the way to cure these problems. Lowering the speedlimit will do sod all until they get it so low that it is safe in call conditions, which means it'll be like 5MPH as thats the only safe speed in snow/ice!
