  1. Classic. I'll show Amanda tonight and see what she can do to compete
  2. Tried to get my TB off last night, but the bolts were set fast! I managed to free one top one, but couldnt budge the bottom ones. In the end I think I managed to flush enough bursts of TB cleaner through from the intake side to clear the crap that was giving me problems. Car starts sweet as a nut now, no more stalling on turn over
  3. Right guys and gals, whos up for the next one then? I will be there about 7:30pm again, and will hopefully remember to bring my camera this time! Travelling up with about 7 Evos, so someone please save me!
  4. Chaps, I was cleaning my TB last night with some TB cleaner from Halfrauds when I broke a bolt Its the one that holds the intake tube to the engine just by the strut and engine cover. I managed to sheer it off when tightening it (not even tight!). Managed to get the thread part out by uncrewing it from below using a pair of pliers. Now need to replace it if anyone has one? I managed to find a random machine screw with the same thread, so its heald good and proper at the moment but obviously doesnt match the other bolts. Fortunately the TB cleaner did its stuff and my random stall on turn over is gone Starts sweet as a nut now. Cant beleive it was such a simple fix after thinking it was the popchargers fault.
  5. My method is always start cheeky, then come back a bit, and when the price is decided, push them for some free servicing and MOT(s). You can then pretty much get back to where you started. They are alot more forgiving with free servicing than knocking more money off as labour is cheap for them
  6. Are they a Nissan dealer? Get on the phone not only to the dealer but also Nissan GB. That is not acceptable They seem to have gotten stuff all over the centre console, seat, gear stick! Let along those scratches! Thats shocking, and I would be fuming! I would be execting all parts touched by that back to black crap to be repleaced at their cost. Also the seat looks awefully close to the centre console, more than I think mine is. Is that just a trick of the light or is it not alligned properly?
  7. Glad to hear you got it sorted Try getting a pop charger for that 4k full bore noise, its awesome Oh and
  8. Yes its a generic fault code reader. Works with loads of software too, from basic diagnostics to digital dashes, like I have on my carpc (thats the OBDII reader I have too)
  9. Think they're 8.5 and 9. Tyres are 245/35/18 and 275/35/18. Nothing too big. Just to confuse you the RR of the tyres is less than stock, but the RR stagger front to rear is the same as OEM so no TC problems
  10. Well I hear mixed views. I've been attempting to clean mine with some TB cleaning spray without moving anything as I hear you can knacker them. However in the States they just say its ok to move it but you might have to perform a couple of resets of TB closed position learning and idle air learning. But they're quite easy. Tempted to whip mine off as its filthy and I'm convinced it causes the car to stall on turn over (you know when it blips on start, mine then stalls) and since giving it a spray yesterday its much better as it starts, then drops, just enough to not stall, but not far off. You guys replacing the gasket after you removed the TB? It says in the service manual that you're meant to.
  11. Hope you didnt move it A few people have broken theirs by moving them manually. Is it all back together and working now?
  12. Got a decent pic of yours Chris, I'm thinking.... Nope, no pictures, I'm the only one whos allowed them Do a search, theres plenty around here
  13. The place I got mine done have never had a set fail either. From what I've heard, its people with thinner spoke wheels that let them get too hot (over 200C rings a bell). This semi melts the structure of the wheel and weakens it. Then when driven hard they fail. Jerry: Rota GTRs look great, but I'm bias

    Bucket seats red

Ready and waiting matey, hope you have some good numbers for me
  15. I still cant get over you polishing your exhaust for bits you dont even see Killed the time didnt it? I was really looking for holes and damage without it being obvious
  16. Exactly. Rotas tend to get bought because they are cheap and strong and as such get abused. Also, if they've had the wheels powder coated, that can weaken them and cause them to fail. You just dont know what they've done to them. I'm sure there are instances where they've failed, but its not as bad as you make out. Drifters use them a lot as they are cheap and strong.
  17. Nope, Wales is 16th/17th May http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= Quite a few of us are travelling up on the Friday.
  18. That depends on the filter. Its quite well documented that most filters allow more dust in compared to stock paper filters, but flow much better and increased flow for longer (due to larger surface area). But do tend to let in a bit more dust. According to the t'interweb
  19. Still, dont think I would care about my car if I had a Nova
  20. None at all? Did you have the Rays before?
  21. Rotas are fine for the Zed (I would be bias though). There are plenty of people around who bang on about them not being forged (they're cast) and heavy, but tbh its bollox. When I got mine I used the good old arm scales to weight my rear Rays and front Rota (same size almost) and the weight difference was negligable. As Digsy says, they are cheap, strong and light enough PS You dont want to know the price of the LMGT4's these days
  22. Does your insurance not cover it? If not try the usual traders - CS, Z1auto, JDM Performance, MJP, or breakers
  23. Most definately not. The stock engine wont do anything with it. If you happen to find one, it might give you a little bit if you get it remapped. Pretty much a waste of money though
