  1. Very bad indeed, they should have their car removed and returned to stock!!
  2. WRT the coolant valve, as Mark said, we dont tend to fit them over here. I think its meant to stop coolant going to the TB so when it gets too cold you can get freezing etc of it. I guess its 12C as the wind chill in the intake could cool the TB to near freezing? Just a guess. Over here though, it doesnt get that hot so no one bothers with them. I suggest you leave it open all the time, otherwise you have to check the temp before you go out. WRT to the torque settings, Phil informed me that hand tight is fine if you dont have a torque wrench. 40in-lbs is not very tight at all. Apparently the heat cycling of the engine causes the threads to almost bind and hold themselves in place.
  3. I dont know how to explain it but leaving it in gear solves it. Its not typical binding because of moisture (ie surface rust), but more imprints of the pads onto the disc. Its probably just placebo effect because I'm not letting it come to a stop with the brakes on that really stops that happening, but in this case it seems to have solved my problem.
  4. Sorry if you read this Adam, it was supposed to read, but message lost missed in my haste that you are a good example of a big trader with a professional approach and excellent customer service despite being based across the pond and with alot of input into the forum Not to mention patience with undecisive customers like myself. i have made my final list now after getting some stuff here and plan to proceed with outstanding minus these soon Thats better. Adam deals with a lot of clubs this side and his side of the pond, so definately not a small time trader, and does a fine job to boot (get in that gratuitous post to make sure my order gets in the post sharpish ) TBH I think all the traders sometimes get a bit overwhelmed and while I cant speak for Envy or Opie, sometimes things are out of their control. One thing I do think though, is that the customer should always be kept up to date if things arent right.
  5. +1 - thats what I've been waiting for. Can it be done like that with 03-05 lights? The only thing that put me off the previous ones were being able to see the LEDs so prominantly sticking up. This way looks much neater Might have to put in an advanced order for when I'm on hols or you could do them on site at the Jockland Hoon?
  6. Looks nice mate. Just to go against the trend though, I'm not a fan of big wings. Dont know why, just like them without. Think it would look mean but sleek without it
  7. Also worth noting that the inner rear pad has a habbit of disintigrating which you cant see without removing the pads themselves. Also being an 04, if they've never changed them (should have done for 40k) then they might be old enough to just disintergrate anyway! But does sound like air in the system. Make sure you follow the correct procedure in the service manual, its not exactly the same as any normal car. Download is around here somewhere, give it a search
  8. Yup was a good day. Learnt how to fit the dual Nismo intake with Rob and err Rob, not that you'd guess, we looked like pros Hopefully at the next one I'll have some cash to get a few bits. The Varis carbon bonet goes very well with GM and Varis lip Thanks to the Chilli's and Envy for arranging it, was good to meet a few more faces and the bacon butties and sausage sarnies were spot on
  9. I think because of his TT setup, they removed the coolant resevoir, making it in effect a closed system. This makes it very hard (from what little knowledge I have of watercooling PCs) to get the airlock out as the air keeps moving around and you cant "catch" it as the stock coolant tank would. So having this expansion tank, will be the high point of the system and help catch any air in there Dont know how applicaple that is to this application, but I guess it should work.
  10. Isn't the handbrake on a separate drum?? I believe so, but for some reason when I put it on, by brakes bind Sure someone can explain it, but Phil said to just leave it in gear. Hasnt had it since.
  11. Chris, the DS are currently only in the Brembo fitment but I do have a few options for the Import caliper...
  12. I've been running these for about a year and a half now (30k miles) with Ferrodo DS2500. My thoughts on the setup are as follows: Cold bite is a little better than OEM Once warmed up they are blindingly good for the price You need to bed them in properly unless they will squeal and performance wont quite be there Dust is no worse than OEM really, but also no better. Make sure your wheels are sealed with something like PB wheel sealant and it wont be a problem Also leave your car in gear and with the handbrake off when parked. I noticed that if I left the handbrake on, it could bind to the disc leaving pad material behind which leads to brake judder. I fully recommend the setup. I might look to run the plain DS pads next as they are less track orientated and more road pads. Should mean cold bit is better but when warm they wont quite be on par with the DS2500.
  13. Hardly rocket science mate Well unless you are a designer for Goodridge
  14. Just found this from Rob: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16403 Are you guys connecting to Pre-out with the ICT?
  15. Is the ICT 29-672 just a cable? IIRC when I was researching swapping my HU, the whole point of the PAC-ROEM was to adjust the input levels as the Bose for some reason expected very high input levels. Thats why the PAC-ROEM has adjustable output to convert the low levels to high for the Bose amp. Have heard of this issue with people just using a harness converter and not the PAC-ROEM.
  16. Basically when you get a 2mm lip on them, its time for a change. Pretty much as CS said Garage or Quick Fit can measure them with their callipers if you think they are worn How many sets of pads have you used on the discs so far?
  17. Someones got to be the first, and DriftWorks know their stuff, so if you know someone who helped design them then go for it
  18. Sounds like a plan. Which direction are you coming from? If you're coming through Bagshot (A322) there is a layby just before the motorway ( here ) . Could meet there? Only takes 10mins from there Done. See you there about 9.15 Cool bud, see you there Looks like you had a fun day guys
  19. +1 - I was amazed the difference Dodo Juice Supernatural made over the P21S I was using before. Not cheap though, but does last a hell of a lot longer. I reckon cost wise it works out no more expensive than P21S as it lasts so much longer
  20. Sounds like a perfect oppotunity to try the Ferrodo DS pads. A lot of guys on here (myself included) use the DS2500 which are fast road/track pads. The DS are the more street oriented pads.
  21. What ever happened to the engine bay? Always wanted to see how much magic you worked on it
  22. That would be every couple of months for me
