  1. Nothing to worry about as the others have said. Just a trait of the Zed that gives it some character
  2. And no other dash lights on? I would try and get a OBDII reader on it if you can or get it to a trusted garage to get them to look at it. That seems very odd. Hopefully Adam or Alex will be along shorty with some ideas.
  3. Indeedy! Thought I better try and keep up. Cars had a nice bit of AG SRP to help bring back the shine and fill in what swirls are left. Just need a few layers of Dodo tomorrow and she'll be all shiney again
  4. Can I ask what tells you the rev limiter is at 5.5k? Is it the shift light or are you bouncing off it? Have you tried acutally hitting the red line? Most people get confused betwen the redline and shift light
  5. Nowt wrong with fairy if you are planning to do a full detail. Cleans off all sorts of wax and grease that normal cleaning wont shift. You've inspired me Mr Mac. My baby is currently sitting in the garage after a clean and clay. Got the Kestrel DA polisher out for a little poorboys session on it this evening and some Dodo SN2 to top it off
  6. No distortion there thats what he looks like
  7. I think thicker ARBs would help no end on the stock Zed. The feeling of it lurching around the corners doesnt inspire confidence. I'm tempted to get some on std suspension to see if it makes much of a diff, but they cost so much I may as well splash out for new suspension
  8. Hope you at least put a kids seat on your passenger seat
  9. Clutch should last somewhere between 30-60k depending on how you drive. 10k is going far to early, but as it is a wear and tear item and they dont know how you drive, its perfectly feasible from their point of view that you might ride the clutch and burn it out in 10k miles. PM ZMANALEX, he has a range of aftermarket clutches. You might well fit a lightweight flywheel while you have the clutch off too
  10. Think I might steal it on Sunday. Who wants to distract him
  11. How did you break in the disc and pads? Sounds to me like you had new discs, went out and mullered them and now they are shot. EBC arent the best discs in the world to start with, certainly wouldnt use them on a regular track day machine. Secondly, if you hadnt heat cycled them correctly to begin with, that could have caused it too. My brakes (EBC discs and DS2500) squealed at first but once I bedded them in right it stopped and have been fine since. Seems like you had the wrong discs for what you are using them for. No discs should die after a couple of track days if used properly. Get some DBA 2 piece discs, that should help you out
  12. I park it anywhere at any time. As Sarnie says, its just a car. And I HATE people who park over two spaces. No offence to those on here that do it, I can see why you want to, but thats just asking for someone to key/dent it if they cant find a space and you are taking two. There was a brand new TTS in the local Morrisons the other day over two spaces and I bet he got keyed as it was a Friday night and busy! Ironic thing is there is a side of the car park that no one uses which you always get plenty of space but he was smack bang in the middle of the busy bit

    MOT

Premiums are rising as young scroats are buying Zeds and crashing them. Means it effects all Zed owners premiums
  14. Thought the only thing allowed on them now is the post code of the place that made them? Sure thats what I had last time I had my bike plates made up at Halfords. Apart from the GB/EU flag that is.
  15. My car is a JDM but the VIN starts Z33 +1 Thats that out the window then
  16. Just to set things straight and thanks for your response Chris, but I didnt mean anythign specific about "this" or "that" forum, I was meaning Zed owners in general. I know it probably sounds petty making a response like this and but I think most people know where I stand about the "this" and "that" and your response seemed to imply that I stated "this" forum. I didnt, I meant Zed owners in general Nope car not mapped yet, needs it though! Was getting some other work done! Sorry it sounded that way mate, I didnt mean to be derogatory to the other forum. I didnt even think about it. I just meant this is a great place with some great people
  17. I assume the dyno worked out the transmission losses itself? If thats the case, then its just the usual differences in engines. How old they are, how far they've been driving, how hard they've been driven all cause slight differences in the engines and means that they have different characteristics. All it takes is for one to have less tranmission losses and it can be a lower power at the fly but more at the wheels as it put more down.
  18. As the others have said, plenty of water and you should be ok. On my bike brakes which use DOT4, it says that water "deactivates" the nasties that eat into stuff. Not sure thats true, but water does work. Get back to the garage and get them to explain what the hell they did! I'd be worried they did something else wrong! Did they bleed the brakes or just whack some new fluid in the resevoir?
  19. News to me, but hey what do we know?! As Marting suggests, you can try TGM, they are very good
  20. Yup, that is one thing that is generally great about this forum. When Andy heard of my slightly dodgy spiggott rings, he sent me a set of 4 recorded delivery for free! Spot on So has your car been mapped now then Mark? What was the reset in aid of?
  21. Thats f'in excellent. The flair off the tree was awesome! You can see by the trail up the tree that he must practice a massive amount. The landings were so smooth and the tailwhip between the 2 ledges was unbelievable!

    Clear Fog light

No you keep the standard connectors and bulbs. Take them off your UK one and connect them to the new one. You obviously need to change the normal fog bulb for a red LED one, but no re-wiring is required.
  23. As the others say, its all down to the drivers and how hard you are willing to push your luck. FWD are much easier to find their limit and easier to cope when you get there. So you have to be a lot more commited to push a RWD Zed to the limit, but if you do, you should take the Mini Hell, I once out did an RS4! The driver was crap. He hooned down the straights but in the corners was a right wuss!
