Well got to keep Matt in the job The fitting kit didn't fare too well given how new the exhaust is, I wasn't quite expecting it to be as much as a pain to take apart as it was which meant I had no time for cleaning.

Dont think I ever put a CD in my 370z either, always used USB or iPhone. CDs are soooo last decade

This was a few years ago, so kind of hard to remember. But basically, I took the old colour/sealant off with some kind of thinners (supplied in kit) which turned the rag tan (so obviously did strip the colour off!). Then dabbed 3 coats of colour with a sponge with hair dryer to aid drying. Then applied 3 coats of colour with air brush, again hairdryer to dry, and waiting 30 mins after each. Then 3 coats of sealant with hair dryer and 30 mins between each, then overnight before using them. To be fair the centres lasted well, just the bolster has a small contact area where it receives a lot of traffic so not surprised it didn't hold out with such a drastic change from tan to black.

Good to see honest opinions matey, not like the company I got my kit from. Centre sections of the seat would be ok going by my old 350z seats, but the bolsters are a no-no.
-
Yeah just dont use the crap kit I got from some leather colouring company. They told me it would be fine on the seat and that they'd done loads of cars before admitting it wouldn't work on the bolsters due to the high concentration of friction going over it. I would hate to see the seats recoloured to then find they wont hold up to the abuse in a daily driver. Would look grand in my van
-
Now rub on them every day like you would if it were on the seat bolster and see how long it lasts. If its anything like the kit I had (I hope not), I give it a month before it wears through on the edges of the bolsters.

Bikes - The "awesome" kind with no engines
Chris`I replied to AK350Z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
No idea, which ever one we find first Plan is to take a week of next Sept for my cousins wedding in the NE. Will head up to Scotland for a while before and hit some of the trails while travelling around. We will of course see what you are doing around that time too -

And electrical gremlins. As with any car though, you can always get a lemon. At least with second hand you can be hopeful that the previous owner had it sorted out for you. -

Already pencilled in for next year Post a piccy of your bike, we like piccies. Dirty bikes are better than clean ones -
+1 Few of the desks at work look a little like that. We have one guy with 4 screens that wrap around. Literally take up his whole desk, he has no space for his phone or any extras over his keyboard and mouse

Just stick em in your car when he's not looking. I'll cause a diversion

Looks like you're right Col. I thought the new software might give us the ability to allow it, but cant see it. For now you'll just have to ask. Best thing to do is report it and stick in the report that you want it pinned/unpinned. That way all the team can see it and respond rather than doing it via PM where only the members being messaged can action it
-
Not sure you have the permissions in the new software, but give this a go. In your subforum, you'll see tick boxes next to your threads. Select them and a small window pops up and allows you to pin/unpin. Not sure if the permissions are set, give it a go and report back. I'll go have a look in the back room if its something we can allow you to do easily.

Had the XFS 3.0V6. Fairly quick, crap in bends, nice quality on the inside, great luxury place to sit, nice smooth ride, painted by blind apes, and accelerates only mildly faster than it depreciates. Wondered when you'd give the real life perspective to things I vote we ban all Jag owners from the forum -
I'll let them do the reveal if they wish

Now sold, someone got a very very good deal. Still good to see it staying on the forum.

At the least I would have stopped to make sure they had the basics covered up to the level you are trained for (ie victim is as well cared for as possible, scene is under control and emergency services have been called), and if that was all covered then I would have jogged on happy it was under control and so not to block the traffic. Being that I am a little more trained in first aid than most (being a PADI Rescue Diver), I tend to take control of the scene unless there is someone there who is already demonstrating that they are on the case and make sure everything is ok. Fortunately I've not actually had to administer any first aid as such as most cases were just a case of monitoring the injured until paramedics arrived and then give them the facts. I've been witness to several RTAs in the past and the varietyl of help and understanding (or lack there of) from bystanders is staggering. Don't assume in a group of people at an accident one of them knows what they are doing. I came across one guy on the A33 that had fitted at the wheel and crashed his car. There was a group of at least 5 there, most just staring and no one actually knew what they were doing or had called for help. I ended up having to direct one to call the ambulance (which he then handed over to me), one to watch and guide the traffic (and keep it clear for the ambulance), and one to fetch a blanket from her car which she hadnt thought would be useful to keep the chap warm. All while I opened the door, switched off the engine and made the car safe, and check the guys breathing and circulation which none of the others had thought to do! Thankfully the chap was breathing and bar a small knock to the head was ok once he'd stopped fitting, albeit very disorientated.

Definitely do it, dont bother with grandstand and instead use that for a Friday ticket as suggested above

Agree with this good man. I put some aftermarket badges on my 350z and hated it afterwards when they discoloured and didnt look right. Wish I'd left it with the Nissan ones, which incidentally I did with the 370z.

What I really dont get is people comparing even a TT Zed with an Evo? Even if we say they weigh near as damit the same (which an 03 Zed and 03 Evo pretty much do as I've seen them both on a weigh-bridge), and have the same power output, they still are very very different cars. One is RWD and the other is 4WD. One is a sleek GT car and the other a rally derivative. Having driven both they are very different to drive even if the performance and handling on paper are about the same. To me the Zed is more fun to drive in handling terms than an Evo, but it doesnt compare to the whiplash effect you get when driving an Evo. It really does depend on what gets you excited. The Zed feels a lot slower than the Evo, but time wise, you'll be shocked at how little there would be in it between 2 that have the same power.
