I think with that one quote you've just upset 100% of all the forum members on here. do you mean that the 350z isnt a real sports car???? or is that a misinterpratation of what you have said? Iam saying that the 350 is a poor mans sports car. Its not a ferrari is it? You're right it's not, but then it's not a Corsa either. Do you think of yourself as poor or doing OK for yourself though?? And does that make a £100k Ferrari F430 a poor man's sports car when there's the Ferrari 612 Sacglietti HGTC at £200k??? Yes you 've hit the nail right on the head I consider myself to be poor because:I have to work five days a week nearly every week of the year to pay my mortgage ect. and there's no way I could afford to pay for my daughter to go to a decent private school. The point Iam trying to make is that well off people with ferrari's lambo's ect. probobly look down at us in our nissans and call us chavs so I just cant understand this slighty snobbish attitude some of you seem to have. I have never been a big fan of mocking people less fortunate than myself and dont like this chav chavvette bussiness its not there fault they grew up on estates and if there not very intelligent there's no way out for them unless they sell class a's or there body. I am not even going to go there on some of the stuff you were saying about chavs as this could get very opinionated! What I would like to say is that I dont think that the people with "supercars" look down on the Zed as they are in a different ball park. The Zed is unique as a car in the sports/coupe market - it is not readily available, you can go weeks without seeing another Zed on the road - I like that exclusivity. Yes, we do (well I do) look down on other cars in the same class as us such as bmw's and TTs because they are as common as muck on the roads and each of them come with a reputation - but it is all fun - everyone likes a bit of rivalry! Absolute ar*e - My stealer (Marshall's - Cambridge) are doing replacement refurbs on 3 cars that I know of that have corrosion, plus mine is going to join the queue. What they do is take a picture and send it off to Nissan CS, who then give the go-ahead. There is about an 8 week lead time though but Nissan should come through for you and make good. Just dont let the b*stards grind you down! Graham

Wow-you got the whole lot there - you been saving them up to get done all in one go?! I was lucky myself, I bought my Z second hand and I figure that the previous owner must have done all the leg-work to get all the warranty issues sorted out - the only warranty issue I have had to deal with is corrosion on the Rays, which will be dealt with in the next couple of weeks. Who? You would not know him - he's not a member of any club I know of.

? care to share the info? was it in the UK? PS there's nothing to save really, once you stat messing with cars, one option is that they can blow up! Hey Minel - just been clocking your piccies - awesome car, like the one with the nurses especially! How did you get the shine on the car - what have yolu been using - Zaino? Oh - you got PM GT

Wow-reminds me someone's Z that blew up recently-well, not that recently as the conceited guy kept it under wraps for a few months to save face no-doubt.

Spoke to him - waiting for some prices from the USA G

Hi, Just spoke to Paul from Miami-GT, what he had to say sounds very interesting - he will get back to me regarding setting up a group buy (ideal as economies of scale kick in) or purchasing individually, so depending on whether the pricing makes this project practicable, I will canvass this site and 'the other site' for interest. I originally tried to get this off the ground 'over there' but personalities got in the way - including mine, and I think it is lying dead-in-the-water at the moment. Graham

You and virtually every other Zed owner I would imagine ( myself excluded! I think they look rather plain ) Join a long queue Yeah they do look a bit plain, which is why I am also keeping an eye out for some Volks CE28's but the jury is still out on this one! By what I mean heavily discounted I mean not rip-off Britain prices i.e. grey imports from America - £1 virtually buys $2 at the moment - thats alot of buying power! G

Hi Sarnie, Sounds interesting-can you pass me the details - thanks - I dont see how I missed this as i have been searching ebay usa/uk constantly for a good deal. G

I cant answer that - thats why I posted the question So - what time do we meet up in the Duke?

...sorry - '04!

Hi all, I am reluctantly looking to sell my 350z. It has all the usual bits and pieces including Rays, black (unmarked) leather seats, 350z mats, stubby ariel, rear parking sensors (spray painted) and a phone cradle. The car has not seen a race track in its life. The car gets looked after, it gets a wax every other week. The paintwork is above average-if you take into account the issues surrounding the 350z paintwork. It has just received a new rear bumper and a respray to the front nose. There are issues as to the quality of the respray of the front end, but believe me when i say it looks a lot better than previously (chips etc). You will be the 3rd owner, and you can rest assured that all the niggly problems associated with these cars have been sorted out as I have never encountered a problem once. Sorry - forgot to mention it has about one year left on the manufacturers warranty. Sensible offers please. Regards Graham

Can you tell me a bit more about what you mean by G3 and G10, where to get it and how much. Elbow grease will have to do instead of a buffing tool!!!
-
Yeah I know what your saying-the thought had crossed my mind as well, but I have lost all confidence in the guy and his work-god knows what they would do to the car if I caused hassle-p*ss in the petrol tank etc!!! I think I am going to cut me losses and run-by what the engineer was saying this morning, it is relatively easy to adjust the rear bumper (what do you think?)-might even do it myself??!! G
-
No can do mate-ive already spoken to the engineers at the insurance company with the view to stopping payment but they would only entertain that if the reason for my complaint stems from work authorised by the insurance company i.e. the rear bumper and bodywork - which makes sense. I am also shagged in that as the front end respray was an 'agreement' between myself and the bodyshop, and as such none of the additional work appears on the invoice and as such (advice from Consumer Direct), it would be hard to prove as there is no written contract - perhaps a verbal one but no-one to witness it. A long shot would be to threaten with Sales of Goods and Services Act 1982 but they would not recommend me spending money in the Small Claims Court as there is no contract supporting work carried out. I went to see the garage this morning. I tried to keep calm when pointing out the 5-6 areas of the paint job I was not happy with, and the guy just walked away from me saying that he was prepared to listen to me about the nose but when I started pointing out the other areas of the car that had been affected by the crap work he was not going to have any of it Have a listen to this, as mentioned before, the nose respray was an 'extra' thrown in on an insurance job that involved replacing the rear bumper. This guy said that because it was a deal they did not take off the front bumper to re-spray (which is where half the problems stem from)-I retorted by saying that a)why did you not tell me that you were not going to do it professionally, and because it was a 'deal' that was thrown in to get the work, does that mean they should mess it up??!! This is the point when he walked away!! Luckily, the engineers that the insurance company used have not paid him yet, and even though they can not do anything about the bodged up front end, they can speak to him about the gap that has appeared on both sides of the car where the rear bumper meets the brake lights, and the scratch that was there when I picked the car up!!! So, Andy of Car Services of Birch Road, Eastbourne, you have been named and shamed. G
-
...they even got the sills by the footplate (on each side) which is what i dont understand, as that does not explain the 'overspray'! I will just ahve to wait 'till tuesday and have it out with them then!! G
-
Hi Dicky, It was an insurance job carried out by a local paint shop and not a dealer. The 'funny' thing is, is that the front end respray was 'thrown' in as a sweetner for getting the other work - replacement of rear bumper and knocking out a dent/scrape on the rear wheel arch. So, I cant go running to the insurance company to complain about the front end! Mind, the rear bumper has not been fitted to my liking either-there is a big gap on both sides where the breaks sit in the bumper. Also, when they spray painted the bumper, they did not bother doing the rear parking sensors-which are now a slightly lighter shade than the bumper! Your right though-keep your cool and work things out!! G
-
Hi all, I just had me Zed in the paintshop for them to respray the nose and replace the rear bumper-it is now a week later and the first chance I have had to wax the car since getting it back-and I have been spending most of the day 'snagging' the front end!! It looks like they stripped the paint from behind the headlight washers, but when it came to respraying them they did not bother respraying behind them again! What is even more disturbing is that I keep on finding patches on the car that are as rough as hell-like a fine mist of paint remover has tarnished it-I dont know how or what they use so this is only a guess. The thing is it is really noticeable as the surface appears 'misty' and rough to the touch-and this is on the main metal body of the car! I feel so angry that I needed to share this with you guys-I cant wait 'till Tuesday-when I can go into the garage and have this out with them-i'm hoping that they sort it out -any advice from anyone??? G

And so I'm here @ Paintshield Grantham...full bonnet done!
