Once I have hooked up the reverse camera to the JDM screen this week I am hoping to connect a small DVD player to it. I have ordered a compact NTSC/PAL dvd player (plays all regions dvds) at a total cost of £25 which should be a quick job apart from powering it. I'l post pics once I get my lazy arse round to doing it!! ps its a waste of time mucking about with the Jap Sat Nav & with a tv module I'm not sure if it would work due to 50hz / 60hz problem with UK & japan.
-
Satnav & tv wont work without expensive mods. No reason why reverse camera camera wont work.

Lomto is this true with all imports (including GT Brembo pads) that Nissan charge a lot more for pads as car is import. Or is it only expensive for non brembo import pads?
-
Its a bit late now. but iv always found it easier to take off plate well in advance of sale.

Do what I v done, IMO looks best, symetrical, subtle & not completely empty. Porsche etc do similar.

Nice neat job CDR! Hope mine turns out as good! I cant seem to get started on the job in this blemin heat, especially as it involves lying backwards in the boot for a long time
-
Oh I thought it was real carbon fibre!! I suppose the Equibis one at £87 is not bad value for money then, as it is real c/f.
-
Sorry Lomoto Didnt know it was you!! I had been quietly watchn it for a week, just seen M13KYF's post, he gave the game away last week!!

I just won this on Ebay!! Good price too Anyone know how much it is from Nissan? What are your thoughts on it? Does snyone have pics of one fitted? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110007697627

Only had it 2 weeks, thought the ESP was ok, not too intrusive. Then yesterday at the lights with a Porsche 911 (997), did the perfect launch, just a little wheelspin in 1st, a little in 2nd, the Stig couldnt have done it better, then all of a sudden power loss, but luckily by that time the Porsche was behind and given up. No power, aaahhhhhh! Must remember to turn it off, I think Il only leave it on when its wet or very cold roads.

Just an update: Camera arrived today & after a quick test, would you believe it, it works!! So just need to decide where to mount it, either 1) high up behind tailgate glass (next to brakelight) or 2) in bumper or 3) behind reg plate. The latter two options involve a lot more work & problems from rain, car washes, & vandals put me off. Also if I am going to fit parking sensors anyway I would rather use this camera as a 2nd rear view camera, hence 1st option. This would be better as simpler to get to if anything goes wrong & cant see bugger all out of rear view mirror due to spoiler & tint.(will have to cut out a tiny bit out of tint where lens sits though). Will hopefully have it done this week.

Sorry mate photobox doesnt allow me to display full size images, neither does photobucket. If anyone knows how I can show full size pics please let me know?
-
Thanks all, yeah gearstick's nice as well!! I blanked the wheel centres by first filling in the Nissan engraving with any filler as long as it waterproof, then smoothed it over & painted over with touch up pen. (you can see it in the 9th pic down). The pics look a lot better in full size, if you have time have a look at: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2878810 (click on thumbnail & then double click on pic again for full size)

Thanks mate, Im not 100% about the wing either! Its an Impul wing, the owner in Japan fitted it, but I'l probably leave it unless it breaks or something then I wouldnt mind a nice Nismo!

The reason it has taken me so long to post these pics is because I cant stop driving it long enough to wash, polish,& wax it & take photos. Today I manged to wash it, polish it & didn’t have time for the Caranuba wax as I wanted to go for a blast in it! Also wanted to do a few small mods first & am still waiting for my Zed bonnet badge from Carbeyond in the US & rear camera from Hong Kong which I am planning to connect to the Jap LCD Screen very soon. I have so far: -Fitted Stubby ariel -Made cold air feed to standard airbox (pics below) -Refurbed gearknob with paint & clear laquer, as metal centre was corroding & leather a little tired. -Made missing towing eye cover with black plastic -Painted front indicator bulbs chrome -Fitted UK style front plate with no mount plate -Changed rear Fairlady & burger badge -Awaiting black Z badge for bonnet -Blanked Wheel centre badges -1 wheel to be refurbed next week...etcetc..!! Well after two & a half weeks of ownership I have done about 800 miles & I only drive 3 miles to & from work! So yes I have been driving it all the time with nowhere to go. E.g today Iv been out around Radlett, Watford, Bushey & up the A1 to a place called Sarret, don’t know how I got there or where the blemin hell it was! All I do know is the A1 out of London from Watford is one lovely road, hardly any cars, or junctions, or cameras, or police, nothing just lovely open roads. Even tested the Jap limiter while following a 997 CarreraS for a few miles, dam silly thing kept making my rev needle bounce about!! Well as you all already know its an amazing car, in many different situations, I especially am amazed at its handling at all speeds & low down grunt, it is just my sort of car, rear wheel drive, lsd, low down torque, & its got the looks! I could carry on writing forever, I have a habbit, but I’l let the pictures do the rest…….

Must be a base UK car or import for that price.

On the edge of the door where it touches e.g. the garage wall when you open it there are a couple of small chips in the paint. But not like you would usually expect one of these to look like. Normally it would be a chip made up of differing layers of paint removed so it has a rough finish where one tiny bit is thicker & thinner almost like a grating effect. But both these little chips on the Zed are just perfect lumps of paint gone in one lump with bare meatl underneath! Its as if there were hardly any coats of paint underneath & whatever paint therew was just dropped off in a neat little lump!

Well after one week of ownership (will post a write up this weeked with pics, weather permitting) & one week of on the revs driving with several 'rev limit flashing' indulgencies I have finished my first tank of petrol! There were absoloutely no motorway miles & any relaxed driving moments was sitting in traffic on the way to & from work! Definetly have to come back down to planet earth & go easy on fuel & money from here on...yeah right Anyway after running it down 37miles to empty (with empty light on & dte flashing) I have filled & over filled an extra half litre to a total of 61.45 litres. So I think a 2004 JDM fuel tank capacity is: 62 litres Well that was as suspected but my JDM manual & it seems Lomoto's also does say 80litres. But I think that could be as the MY06 JDM may have an 80litre fuel tank & this could be a new book I have been given or a UK book, im not sure?

Does the Typhoon sit right down by the grill, if so this would excellent reducing heatsoak but as you say needs regular cleaning but worth the effort. -

I think the standard airbox/filter is fine. Improvments can be made with cooling maybe using carbon fibre pipes to reduce heatsoak. I think the best mod would be some sort of cold air snorkel behind the grill which can channel cold air into the area of the air box. But this should take in new air from an area where air flow would not normally pass upto the air box. I.e maybe position it on drivers side of grill, there would be no point positioning on passenger side where it would simply replace existing airflow going up to the airbox, - not gaining new added air flow.
