  1. My knob was beginning to peel & corrode a bit due to the previous owner resting their sweaty palm on my knob too much. I sanded it down a little; 2 coats of paint from a touch up brush; & two coats of laquer & my knob is now shiny. So if you want a shiny knob like mine, just touch it up a bit & itl shine like mine.
  2. Thanks chaps Locking nuts are TSW ones.
  3. The reason it has taken me so long to post these pics as some of you may know is laziness; bad weather & offcourse our new little baby girl who arrived a few weeks ago! Anyway I have at last taken new pics today with my 19" TSW Thruxtons, which I fitted about 6 weeks ago. I think mine is the first zed yet in the UK with these wheels They may not be to everyones taste being a little different form the OEM style japanese offerings etc, but I do like the not so understaed US styling! Apologies as it rained inbetween & the car is by no means gleaming due to no polish/waxing & rubbish light conditions. Iv owned the zed about 8 months & wasn't planning to do any mods really, that was until I discovered this site!! Anyway: Mods so far: -19" TSW Thruxtons with Toyo Proxy rubber -Impul 933S Rear Wing -Fujitsubo Titanium Hybrid Exhaust -Nismo Grounding -Stubby ariel -Made cold air feed to standard airbox -Refurbed gearknob with paint & clear laquer -Made missing towing eye cover with black plastic -Chrome indicator bulbs -Fitted UK style front plate with no mount plate -Changed rear Fairlady & burger badge - Z badge for bonnet /Z mats -Fitted rear view camera (with nightvision) to existing lcd screen -Carbon fibre front air dam -Rear window tints Definite future mods: Paint & fit my Nissan plastic Splashguards Order & fit Motordyne's 'ISO Thermal 5/16th Plenum Spacer Not so sure mods Kinetix High Flow Cats (Wish list mod, if I still have the car a few years down the line: Vortech or Greddy Supercharger with ECU!!! ) Enough babbling on, here's a few pics: How she started life in the UK. Thats me about to buy the car! Today:

  5. I v finally taken some pics of my zed today (though not exactly sparkling due to intermittent rain & not much sun ) I need to upload them to a free site to host my pics. I have used photobox & photobucket before but they both resize the image too small! The image files are not too big on purpsose, only 670kb each & eight of them. Anyone know any sites, please.

  10. Interesting insight with excellent pics by my mate who worked for TVR for some time near me at TVR Barnet. (closed now). I used to take my TVR there quite regularly also! http://forum.bmwcarmagazine.com/viewtopic.php?t=53578&highlight=tvr
  11. Oh yeah I think tmrw will have to be the day for all that washing; polishing; waxing ; tyre dressing...etc...wtc.... Thanks Sarnie!
  12. Eventually took some pics today after about 3 months of finishing the job! Apologies for delay & the fact that the car was not gleaming First thing to say is that I still have to make a neater surround/frame (made out the pespex from a spare no. plate lying around) for the camera so that it looks more flush & intergrated into the rear number plate. I have temporarily painted a plastic covering to make water tight & neaten. The actual screen was too big to fit into the cubby hole (sat nav one) hence it sits outside it. The bracket for the screen is adjustable & can be pushed further back into the dash/cubby hole as I sometimes do to make it look flusher & neater. But while driving for best viewing angle (due to sunlight reflection) it is better to have the screen more upright as in the pictures. I have modified the centre console cover (bought of ebay) to act as some kind of screen cover & to detract attention from thieving eyes. It is not perfect but does the job at first glance. Though the screen easily unclips if neccessary. The camera image quality is really amazing, the pictures do not do the image justice (especially as car was in garage & less light). The images are better than most rear view cameras mainly as the lens is bigger than most others & probably better quality I think. It also has night vision, & at night the infra red bulbs auto light up aroung the lens to provide some light. This night image is ok not that good. It was a bit of a pain in the arse to fit as the rear bumper had to be removed but well worth it in the end as it adds a bit of techno-flashiness to the somewhat boring zed interior.
  13. Agree. I would rather save my money & if I wanted extra power IMO I would eventually go down the supercharged route on my current zed!
  14. JDM models (as tested) dont always have steering controls as std as can be an option. Im sure for UK spec it will come with them
  15. The 'CW Style' spoiler actually seems to be an Impul 933S rear spoiler, like mine http://www.impul.co.jp/products/model/Z33_FAIRLADY_933S.htm http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.impul.co.jp/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dimpul%26hl%3Den
  16. Cheesy but nice Had to get it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320082626138&rd=1&rd=1
  17. May originally be same fuel as other companies but later additives used by each company differs.
  18. I bought a JDM & dealer had no idea whether T or ST etc. When I got there it had Brembos/Alezan leather/xenons/heated seats & a button on the lower right of dash saying VDC, therefore it is an ST model, equivilant of UK GT. But it had no steering wheel controls like Gt's. In Japan there were various models produced, many may have been base but decided to add as an option Brembos etc. Also most steering wheel control options in Japan are different & seem to be customer options. Therefore I would judge each car individually, its not as clearcut as UK GT models, though not at all complicated.
  19. Cant be too good on your mpg! ps does that reduce power?
  20. Iv also got another camera (non reverse/very small one) with sound to be used as forward facing camera to install in front bumper, but havent got round to doing it yet. I saw at Watford General Hospital recently that many of the emergency doctor cars have them on the front bumper, probably for recording evidence in case of an accident!
  21. I suppose if you are using for DVD recording etc then the Sony would definetley be better quality, I only use as reverse camera. (Though can be used for any purpose) Check out fleebay. lots of variety from Hong Kong at dirt cheap prices.
  22. I bought this about 4 months ago for approx £35. They also do std non reverse cameras also. (reverse camera image is not left right inverted like other cameras) It works a treat, image colour & quality surprisingly good!
